The Harry Potter Wizard’s Collection contains 31 discs which has the eight films in Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet digital copy and five hours of never-before-seen exclusive material. It also contains 37 hours of special features, 10 hours of new to disc bonus content, collectible memorabilia and extended and 3D versions.

They are placed in a gift box and is the largest collection ever released by Warner Bros.

Why Did Alfonso Cuarn Leave Harry Potter

Director Alfonso Cuarón provided a great switch to the darker tone as the story of Harry Potter gets darker itself. He made a lot of different artistic choices while working on the movies and most of them were accepted with praise from both fans and critics.

The fans also seemed to love his artistic approach to the series. The movie was so well received that most people didnt mind many integral changes he made in regards to the franchise shown in the first two movies.

These changes included changing the layout of the Hogwarts castle by adding a clock tower and a central tower, changing the location of Hagrids hut to work better with the plot of the third movie, and changing the appearance of Professor Flitwick.

Most people laved this different approach to the series and a common opinion is that the fans would have gotten more character-focused and metaphor-filled if Alfonso Cuarón remained the director for the rest of the franchise.

This is why his sudden departure from the franchise surprised everyone and left the fans wondering what the reason behind it was. Alfonso Cuarón doesnt talk about it a lot and hasnt publicly come out with the reason for his departure.

Home Market Releases For March 28th 2017

Its a good week for Pick of the Week contenders, as there are seven such releases on this weeks list. Unfortunately, none of them really scream out as The Pick of the Week. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is by far the biggest, but it is only out on Video on Demandright now, while Hidden Figures is the best, but again, it is only on VOD this week. Why Did Chris Columbus Leave The ‘harry Potter’ Franchise

In an interview marking Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stones 20th anniversary in November 2020, Chris told The Hollywood Reporter he decided not to direct the third Harry Potter film because of how exhausting and time-consuming it was to work on the first two.

Sorcerers Stone took 160 days of shooting, which is ridiculously long. And then, immediately after we stopped shooting, we started shooting Chamber of Secrets, which was another 160 days. Thats roughly 320 days not counting second-unit back-to-back shooting.

After Chamber of Secrets, Chris could barely speak and felt emotionally and physically exhausted, he said. I wasnt seeing my kids, who were young at the time, growing up, he added. I was missing dinners with them. I thought, I cant do another six, seven, eight years of this. My kids will grow up, and Ill never get to know them.

The original Harry Potter franchise spanned eight films, helmed by a total of four directors. Each brought his own pedigree to the films, and each directors individual talents and trademark style contributed to the expanding Harry Potter universe. International Box Office: Fantastic Has A Beast Of An Opening With $1433 Million

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opened in first place on the international chart with $143.3 million in 63 markets. The film had the biggest opening of the Harry Potter franchise in 16 of those 63 markets, but ironically not in the U.K., where it had its biggest opening. The film debuted in first place there with $18.90 million in 666 theaters. This is the third best in the franchise behind the two DeathlyHallows films. Some of the markets where Fantastic Beasts set the franchise record include South Korea, where it made $10.64 million on 1,431 screens over the weekend for a total opening of $14.15 million. Radcliffe reportedly made $95.6 million from the Harry Potter franchise as a whole. The Director Said He ‘always Felt Guilty’ Leaving The Series After The First Films

“I do not know of another human being who could’ve started the series in the way you did,” Radcliffe told Columbus.

Although he called it “the greatest experience” of his life, Columbus didn’t stick around after the first two films. He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021 that, at the time, he was “emotionally and physically exhausted” and missing out on time with his own children.

“I’ve always felt guilty about leaving. I really did. When I said goodbye to you guys, I was like, I can’t believe I’m leaving these guys,” Columbus told Radcliffe during the reunion special.

The actor told the director that he doesn’t think he ever got “enough credit” for his achievement on “Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Chamber of Secrets.”

After Columbus left, Alfonso Cuarón directed “Prisoner of Azkaban,” Mike Newell directed “Goblet of Fire,” and David Yates directed the final four “Harry Potter” films.

Who Directed The Most Harry Potter Movies

Chris Columbus was the first director who was offered to put the story of the boy who lived on the big screens. He worked on Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone and after the massive success of the first movie he was set to continue with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

For the third movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, former director Chris Columbus stepped down from his role as director and was replaced by Alfonso Cuarón, who created what most fans consider the best Harry Potter movie in the entire franchise.

Alfonso Cuarón refused the offer to return for the fourth installment in the franchise and the director position for Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire was given to Mike Newell.

Following his predecessor, director Mike Newell declined the offer to continue working on the franchise leaving it without a director once again.

The fifth movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix were directed by David Yates, who replaced Mike Newell. Yates stayed as the director until the end of the movie franchise, directing the following movies harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Given this information, it is obvious that the franchise went through its fair share of directors and the only remaining question is which one of them directed the most movies.

Would Chris Columbus Direct Future Harry Potter Movies

Just because Columbus said goodbye to Harry Potter doesn’t mean his love for the franchise and its characters has dimmed. In fact, he said he would be willing to come back to direct a film adaption of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

“A version of Cursed Child with Dan, Rupert, and Emma at the right age, it’s cinematic bliss,” he told THR. “To able to actually see these adult actors now back in these roles? Oh, yeah. It would be amazingly fun to make that film â or two films.”
