HOW MANY HARRY POTTER BOOKS CAN I READ IN 24 HOURS | #READATHONBYZOE

Fortunately, Harry Potter isn’t one of those series like Star Wars has a sprawling number of canon novels, film novelizations, reference books, and comics to read. Instead, it’s a finite universe which makes catching up on it much easier. We recommend reading the main series chronologically so that you can see Harry and his friends grow up. Then if you’re still thirsting for more of the Wizarding World you can see where your interests most strongly lie , and start again there.

If you still havent read Harry Potter, just know that its never too late to start and even for those who have, youre never too old to go back and relive the magic.

How Many Harry Potter Movies Are There

The Harry Potter book series was adapted into eight movies. Each movie depicts the events described in one book, except for the last one. The last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was depicted throughout two movies.

Besides the original book series, there is the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which was written as a drama, and the Fantastic Beasts franchise, which depicts the events leading up to the legendary duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Currently, there are only two movies with the third one on the way, but the original contract was signed for five movies.

Why Harry Potter Is So Rich

Harry Potter’s parents left him a small fortune, so he didn’t have to worry about money during his school years, but where did that money come from?

Harry Potters parents were killed when he was one-year old and he lived with his aunt and uncle for ten years, so it came as a big surprise to him as well as readers and viewers that his parents left him a lot of money, but how much was it? Back in 1997, J.K. Rowling introduced readers to the Wizarding World through the story of the boy who lived in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, the first in what would become a series of seven novels, which came to an end in 2007 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Harry Potter and company made the jump to the big screen in 2001, with the final book being split into two films. The Harry Potter film saga brought the Wizarding World to a wider audience, further expanding the books fanbase and also making some questions left by the novels even bigger. In Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, the audience learned that Harry wouldnt have to worry about paying for his school supplies and more as his parents left him a small fortune in vault 687 of Gringotts Wizarding Bank, but how much money was there?

How Many HARRY POTTER Books Can I Read In 24 HOURS!? – 24 Hour Read-a-thon

In December 2005, Rowling stated on her web site, “2006 will be the year when I write the final book in the Harry Potter series.” Updates then followed in her online diary chronicling the progress of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with the release date of 21 July 2007. The book itself was finished on 11 January 2007 in the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, where she scrawled a message on the back of a bust of Hermes. It read: “J. K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room on 11 January 2007.”

Rowling herself has stated that the last chapter of the final book was completed “in something like 1990”. In June 2006, Rowling, on an appearance on the British talk show Richard & Judy, announced that the chapter had been modified as one character “got a reprieve” and two others who previously survived the story had in fact been killed. On 28 March 2007, the cover art for the Bloomsbury Adult and Child versions and the Scholastic version were released.

In September 2012, Rowling mentioned in an interview that she might go back to make a “director’s cut” of two of the existing Harry Potter books.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix becomes very political: after Voldemorts resurrection at the end of GoF, the Ministry of Magic appears to refute any rumors and refuses to take action, fearful of upsetting the public.

This means that the actual adults must follow in the footsteps of Harry, Ron, to Hermione and begin battling him in an undercover vigilante organization known as the Order of the Phoenix.

Potter fans had to wait three years before the fourth and fifth books launches.

Before the fifth book was out, 200 million copies of the first four had been sold and translated into 55 languages in 200 countries.

Since the series was already a worldwide success, the book set new pre-order milestones, with thousands of people queuing outside bookstores on June 20, 2003, at midnight, to secure copies.

Thousands of copies were stolen from an Earlestown, Merseyside facility on June 15, 2003, despite the surveillance.

Price Wars And Other Controversies

Asda, along with several other UK supermarkets, having already taken pre-orders for the book at a heavily discounted price, sparked a price war two days before the book’s launch by announcing they would sell it for just £5 a copy. Other retail chains then also offered the book at discounted prices. At these prices the book became a loss leader. This caused uproar from traditional UK booksellers who argued they had no hope of competing in those conditions. Independent shops protested loudest, but even Waterstone’s, the UK’s largest dedicated chain bookstore, could not compete with the supermarket price. Some small bookstores hit back by buying their stock from the supermarkets rather than their wholesalers. Asda attempted to counter this by imposing a limit of two copies per customer to prevent bulk purchases. Philip Wicks, a spokesman for the UK Booksellers Association, said, “It is a war we can’t even participate in. We think it’s a crying shame that the supermarkets have decided to treat it as a loss-leader, like a can of baked beans.” Michael Norris, an analyst at Simba Information, said: “You are not only lowering the price of the book. At this point, you are lowering the value of reading.”

Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

How many harry potter books are there 2018, fccmansfield.org

Cursed Child and the subsequent stage play, though not part of the original seven-book series, have been widely known additions to the Harry Potter canon.

This 336-page novel takes off where the Deathly Hallows epilogue left off, with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Malfoy sending their unfortunate-named children off to Hogwarts this time, Harrys son Albus and Malfoys son Scorpius act as our protagonists.

When the boys arrive at Hogwarts, they are all sorted into Slytherin and form an unexpected relationship, which inevitably creates friction between Albus and Harry over the course of the next few years.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child can be a little frustrating at times, thanks to the many timelines and different versions of the same characters and its somewhat far-fetched plot points and dubious continuity with Rowlings existing universe have prompted some Potter fans to criticize it.

Still, at the end of the day, its yet another piece of the elusive puzzle that weve always had so much fun piecing together: this once-in-a-lifetime reading opportunity that surpasses society and centuries.

Dumbledore teaches Harry these lessons in order to train him for a grand future war with Voldemort, possibly in order to hold his rivals closer.

What Harry doesnt realize is that Dumbledore is plotting something much bigger a plot that engulfs him more and more with each passing day.

Many issues arose both before and after its publication, including the freedom to read copies shipped before the release date in Canada.

The novel received mostly favorable reviews and went on to win many awards and honors, including the 2006 British Book of the Year award.

The novel took on a darker feel than its contemporaries, according to reviewers, but it did have some humor.

The key subjects, according to others, were passion, death, trust, and rebirth. The significant character growth of Harry and several other adolescent characters attracted notice as well.

Warner Bros. released the film version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on July 15, 2009.

Jk Rowling Turned Down A Chance To Collaborate With The King Of Pop Michael Jackson:

Not many authors, celebrities, or entertainers would have said no to someone of Michael Jacksons caliber. But J.K. Rowling did so without thinking twice.

Michael Jackson had requested he turned Harry Potter into a musical. Unfortunately, J.K. Rowling turned down the idea, stating that the concept lacked credibility. And that was her reason.

She also claimed that her love for the Harry Potter books and other elements, such as the theme park was special. So she didnt feel the need to change anything.
