Differences Between The Book And The Film Adaptation
In the film, after discovering the truth of himself being a Horcrux, Harry met up with Ron and Hermione at the Grand Staircase, where he expressed his necessity to die, before bidding the two of them goodbye, something he avoided in the novel.
The duel as shown in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
In the film version of the duel, Harry reveals himself after he jumps from Hagrid’s arms as Voldemort looks on with a surprised and bewildered look. Harry fires a Blasting Curse at Nagini, but due to her protection, it rebounds on several Death Eaters behind Voldemort. Next, Harry dashes through the Courtyard as Voldemort follows, firing explosions at him. Shocked, Voldemort turns and sees a fraction of his Death Eaters retreating. Bellatrix screams and yells at all the Death Eaters to return, even pinpointing the fleeing Lucius Malfoy. He then turns and sees Harry dashing into the Entrance Hall as the battle recommences. Harry runs up the Grand Staircase Voldemort stuns Neville, sending him flying into the Great Hall. Voldemort then grabs Nagini and Disapparates in pursuit.

Tom Riddle: “Why do you live?” Harry Potter: “Because I have something worth living for!”
Voldemort disintegrates upon death in the film adaptation, as opposed to merely dying as in the book
He Was A Master Duellist
While Tom Riddle could use magic without a wand, he was able to gain even more power when he did choose to use his wand. Voldemort became possibly one of the most skillful duelists in the entire Wizarding World, proving his mastery of the wand time and time again against the best wizards and witches in the world.
Voldemort was able to win duels against Horace Slughorn, Kingsley Shacklebolt, and Minerva McGonagall – all three of these wizards and witches are considered master duelists. Voldemort also overpowered Alastor Moody and Amelia Bones in fights. The reason why Voldemort was able to defeat so many wizards and witches was that he was unpredictable and aggressive, which allowed him to change fighting styles without warning. He also used the Dark Arts, of course, which created an unfair advantage.
Arthur Weasleys Flying Ford Anglia
Arthur Weasley owned a 1960 Ford Anglia 105E that he subsequently enchanted consequently, the vehicle can fly, become invisible, and carry the entire Weasley family in spite of its formerly non-enchanted interior dimensions , among other abilities. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the car is borrowed by Fred, George and Ron, who use it to rescue Harry from the Dursleys house. Ron and Harry later steal the car in order to return to Hogwarts after the gate to Platform 9¾ is sealed by Dobby. After they arrive at school, landing in the Whomping Willow, the car ejects Harry, Ron, and their luggage, then flees into the Forbidden Forest, ignoring Rons pleas for it to come back. Mr Weasley soon faces an inquiry at the Ministry of Magic, as seven Muggles saw the car flying across areas of Central London and the British countryside, and is forced to pay a large fine.
The 1962 Ford Anglia used in the film was acquired by Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, and is currently displayed in the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. A total of 14 Ford Anglias were destroyed during the filming of the scene where the car crashes into the Whomping Willow.
A replica of the car in its feral state can be seen in the queue line for the Dragon Challenge roller coaster at the Universal Studios Islands of Adventure theme park. Occasionally it blinks its headlights and honks its horn when its motion detectors sense that guests are standing in front of it or walking by it.

A Timeline Of The Events
The Lead-up to the Attack
Lily Evans and James Potter finish Hogwarts and immediately go to work for The Order of the Phoenix . Voldemort tried to recruit them to be Death Eaters , but both were defiant. Lily and James probably got married in the Summer or Fall of 1978, though it could have been as late as the summer of 1979.
Sybill Trelawney makes a prophecy to Albus Dumbledore about a child to be born in July of that year. Partially overheard by a Death Eater, Severus Snape, who reports what he heard to Voldemort.
circa October 1979
Lily becomes pregnant with Harry, and both she and James go into hiding because of the prophecy .
Two children are born who fit the prophecys criteria: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. Dumbledore knows that they are in danger, but hesitates to act until he knows more about what Voldemort might do.
between July 31 and September 1, 1980
Severus Snape discovers that Lily and her infant son have been targeted by Voldemort, has a crisis of conscience, and tells Albus Dumbledore. Snape offers his allegiance to Dumbledore in exchange for protection for Lily and is given the position of Hogwarts Potions Master.
before October 24, 1981
He Was The Most Powerful Dark Wizard In The World
Before Voldemort, the two greatest wizards in the Harry Potter universe were easily Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald.
As a matter of fact, the greatest wizarding battle in history was reportedly one between the good Dumbledore and the dark Grindelwald.
When Voldemort rose to power, he soon surpassed even the power of Grindelwald who was spending the rest of his life in prison after his capture.
Voldemort has mastered countless Dark Arts spells and is strong enough when casting them to overpower even the most powerful wizards.
For example, hes even able to control Bartemius Crouch Senior for almost half a year.
He also cursed all of the Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers at Hogwarts after he was rejected the job, which involved a spell so powerful that not even Dumbledore could lift it.

Control Over The Lost Souls
Necromancy in Harry Potter is something of a complicated art. While it cannot be done in the sense that people who lost their lives cannot be brought back in their true “living” form. However, zombie-esque creatures do exist in Harry Potter and they’re known as the Inferi.
An Inferius is best described as a lifeless body who has been brought back by a Dark Wizard’s magic. A being like this can only be brought back in this form by extremely powerful magic but since this is Voldemort we’re talking, he was able to create an entire army of them. They almost destroyed Dumbledore and Harry, but thankfully they’re weak to fire so the old man exploited this weakness.
Why Did Voldemorts Wand Break
In Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Voldemort borrows Lucius Malfoys wand in an attempt to overcome the limitations of sharing a core with Harry Potters wand. During the fight at the beginning of the book , Voldemorts borrowed wand is shattered by a mysterious spell performed by Harrys wand.
Harrys wand shoots golden flames at Voldemort, and we later learn that Harrys continued insistence his wand acted of its own accord is true. The wand recognized part of Voldemort was both Brother and mortal enemy. This caused Harrys wand to act and protect its owner, breaking Voldemorts borrowed wand in the process.

Why Does Voldemort Hold His Wand In This Manner
This was a film decision, made by the character acter Ralph Fiennes, in conjunction with Production Designer Stuart Craig. In short, Fiennes was trying to make Voldemort’s action tally with the book description of him as snake-like, with “silky-smooth” movements. The wand, he felt, should be an extension of these movements.
“She describes the voice in a couple of places at least, which was a good indicator of where to go and the snake-like idea that J.K. Rowling gives him as someone, but that he himself has snake-like elements to his movement, silky-smooth and silent”
“With Stuart Craig, who’s the production designer, and his team, wediscussed what the wand would be, It has a hookon it, so I can hold my hand, and then the end can hook around thisfinger. I remember it should feel like an extension of my hand … Like I almost have the hand open … you’d think it would fall off the hand. But I just enjoyed that it could be light in the hand.”
When we, when I was first discussing the part, I talked to the design department about creating a little hook, or a bird’s claw on the end so that it could rest in an open hand, which I quite liked.
Whats Voldemorts Wand Made Out Of
Voldemorts wand was 13 and a half inches long, made out of yew and had a phoenix feather core. It was originally purchased from Ollivanders Wand Shop by Tom Riddle, who later changed his name to Lord Voldemort.
The core of his wand came from Dumbledores phoenix, Fawkes. Fawkes also gave one other feather for a wand. Because the wands shared a core they were brothers. The brother to Voldemorts wand was later sold to Harry Potter.

How Does Harry Potter Come Back To Life Without The Resurrection Stone
Harry survived the Killing curse because of his mothers protection. The night Voldemort killed his parents, Lilly created a magical protection power originating from love.
The protection was supposed to be lifted once harry turned seventeen, however, Voldemort accidentally prolonged its effects. Voldemort concluded that if he mixes Harrys blood into his resurrection potion, it would course through his veins and allow him to bypass Lillys protection and allow him to touch Harry without getting hurt.
What Voldemort didnt know is that this would also make sure the protection continues to live through his own blood and keep Harry alive.
This is why when Harry got hit by the Killing curse he did end up in J. K. Rowlings version of heaven he wasnt actually dead. After the conversation with professor Dumbledore, he got the chance to either stay with him or return to the real world.

He Can Possess Animals
When Voldemort’s physical body was destroyed courtesy of his own Avada Kedavra, Voldemort was forced to wander the Earth as a weak spirit. In this form, all of Voldemort’s normal magical powers and abilities were lost to him until he found another human body. What he was able to do, however, was possess the bodies of animals.
If not for his pride, Voldemort could have probably lived under the radar much longer using this.
Roaming the forests of Albania, Voldemort took control of snakes in order to have a physical body of any sort. This came at a price, however, as he had to change bodies frequently since this possession shortened the lifespans of his hosts. It wasn’t until the idiot Professor Quirrell came into the forest where he found a human that he could possess.

His Mind Was Extremely Sharp
While attending Hogwarts, Tom Riddle used his striking appearance to win over many of his teachers, as he was very convincing in his manipulations. He became one of the top students at the school, and was named both a Prefect and the Head Boy during his time there. He used his leadership skills and charisma to win over followers, both in school and later as the Dark Lord.
When asked about Tom Riddle, Dumbledore said that he was likely the most brilliant student to ever pass through the doors of Hogwarts, and was possibly only surpassed by Dumbledore himself. When Riddle left the school and became Voldemort, he proved that to be a fact when he was able to mastermind two of the most devastating wars in Britain’s Wizarding World.
Woman In Gregorovitchs House
Gregorovitch is a wandmaker, Europes equivalent to Ollivander. And he makes a brief appearance in the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 blockbuster, dying via Voldemorts hand after revealing the Elder Wand had been stolen from him many years previously.
What the movie doesnt show, though, is Tom Riddle also killing a woman who is with the wandmaker. We expect Warner Bros wanted to keep the death toll as low as possible

It’s Significant That His Wand Was Made From A Yew Tree
Wands can be made out of a number of different woods and materials, but it’s fitting that Voldemort’s is made from the bark of a yew tree.
Yew trees were once considered sacred in druid traditions, but their toxic needles led them to eventually symbolize death in Celtic culture. They’re also known for living a very long time.
For a variety of myths and reasons, yew trees also became popular in cemeteries.
Since Voldemort is a wizard who’s obsessed with death and immortality, the symbolism of his yew wand isn’t lost.
Did The Resurrection Stone Bring Harry Potter Back To Life
Contrary to its name, the Resurrection Stone is not what brought Harry back to life. Although many people assume the stone has the ability to bring the dead back to life this is not really how it works.
The way it works is described in the legend of the three brothers. Rather than reviving people the stone just brings them back as a shadow of who they were before they died.
This is why the second brother ultimately killed himself. His original wish was to bring the girl he loved back to life but the Resurrection Stone couldnt bring her back.
We actually see the way it works when Harry drops the stone in the Forbidden forest. Rather than bringing his parents and Remus and Sirius back to life, they appear in front of him like ghosts.
This means that even if Harry tried to bring himself back to life with the stone, he wouldnt actually succeed in his plane. He would simply return to the world as a ghost.

Highly Resistant To Mind Control
The art of Legilimency is one of the most potentially dangerous magical branches in the world of Harry Potter. Being able to peer into the mind of another and reading their thoughts and memories gives you a tremendous advantage. Wouldn’t it be great if the heroes can use it against Voldemort? Well, they can’t.
Not only is Voldemort one of the most powerful Legilimency practitioners ever, he’s also an expert at using its defense known as Occlumency. This magical art involves shutting off your mind to people wishing to probe it and making your mind empty. For someone as creatively evil as Voldemort, this defense is of great importance.

Who Made Voldemorts Wand
It so happens that the phoenix whose tail feather is in your wand, gave another feather â just one other. It is very curious indeed that you should be destined for this wand when its brother, gave you that scar. Yes, thirteen-and-a-half inches. Yew.
–Garrick Ollivander, Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone
Voldemorts wand was made by Garrick Ollivander. Ollivander called this particular wand very powerful. This was most likely due to the combination of the wood and the core. Ollivander put great effort and stock into wandlore, which says that yew wands give their owners the power of life and death.
Technically this is probably true of all wands to a degree, but yew is typically more feared in the wizarding world. Because of this, yew is known to be quite powerful especially in duels and curses. Not all wizards or witches destined for yew wands are drawn to the dark side of magic, however. Ginny Weasley also ended up with a yew wand.
Because of this, its more likely that the power of the yew wand lies in the ability to be both fiercely protective of life, or equally reckless with the taking of anothers life. Ginny was in many ways the opposite of Lord Voldemort and still equally as capable of using a yew wand for great and powerful things.
