Tom Felton, who played the Slytherin villain Draco Malfoy, recently recalled his experience on set, as well. “I was speaking to Rupert , Daniel and Emma separately the other day and , ‘Twenty years, can you imagine that?’ ” he said, per People. “First of all, they all look the bloody same, literally. Rupert looks exactly the same.”
But if you ask Felton, he would be more than down to be involved in some sort of reunion or even just to have the chance to put on those Slytherin robes one more time. “If you’re asking me will I dye my hair blonde again to be Draco, abso-bloody-lutely. Either . I’ll play Draco’s kid if you really want!” Felton gushed. “Any chance to be a Malfoy again would be greatly accepted.”
Let’s hope Felton can use some of that magic of his to make a 20-year reunion possible!

November 2021 marks 20 years since we met Harry Potter and the gang on the big screen in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” The film followed the 1997 release of the book, written by J.K. Rowling.
Anecdotally, the world of Harry Potter has changed the lives of its fans, such as that of Caitlin Moore who writes for The Washington Post that the series allowed her to “slip back into childhood and lose for hours in a magical world.” But on a larger scale, its incredible success was nothing short of magic.
Over 500 million copies of the books have been sold worldwide and have been translated into 80 different languages, per Screenrant. And according to Forbes, all eight films made nearly $1 billion overall worldwide.
So, after such astronomical success, and with the 20-year reunion of the first film coming up, it’s only logical that fans would wonder if they can expect some sort of nostalgic moment provided by Danielle Radcliffe , Emmer Watson , and Rupert Grunt . But Radcliffe isn’t so sure that a reunion is going to happen.
Rowling Made Up Her Middle Initial In Response To Her Publishers Sexism
In addition to assuming that the book would not sell well, the editorial team at Bloomsbury advised Rowling that she should not publish under her real name, Joanne Rowling, because boys would not read a book written by a woman. That sexist assumption certainly did not give much credit to boys, and took it for granted that girls would read a book written by men. Rowling, eager for success, agreed to write under the name J.K. Rowling. The J was her first initial. But Rowling does not have a middle name, so she used K as a tribute to her grandmother, Kathleen.

Price Wars And Other Controversies
Asda, along with several other UK supermarkets, having already taken pre-orders for the book at a heavily discounted price, sparked a price war two days before the book’s launch by announcing they would sell it for just £5 a copy. Other retail chains then also offered the book at discounted prices. At these prices the book became a loss leader. This caused uproar from traditional UK booksellers who argued they had no hope of competing in those conditions. Independent shops protested loudest, but even Waterstone’s, the UK’s largest dedicated chain bookstore, could not compete with the supermarket price. Some small bookstores hit back by buying their stock from the supermarkets rather than their wholesalers. Asda attempted to counter this by imposing a limit of two copies per customer to prevent bulk purchases. Philip Wicks, a spokesman for the UK Booksellers Association, said, “It is a war we can’t even participate in. We think it’s a crying shame that the supermarkets have decided to treat it as a loss-leader, like a can of baked beans.” Michael Norris, an analyst at Simba Information, said: “You are not only lowering the price of the book. At this point, you are lowering the value of reading.”

JK Rowling has revealed where she started writing the Harry Potter books, contradicting fans who believed for years that Edinburgh was its birthplace.
The Elephant House Cafe in Edinburgh is widely regarded as the place the now 54-year-old author wrote the first of the seven fantasy novels.
While it is true that Rowling used to frequent the cafe in the early days of her writing career, the author revealed yesterday that she actually started the series in London, in a flat above a sports shop in Clapham.
Referring to the sign on Elephant House which reads birthplace of Harry Potter, Rowling tweeted: Id been writing Potter for several years before I ever set foot in this cafe, so its not the birthplace, but I *did* write in there so well let them off!
Rowling then shared a picture of the Clapham flat where she started her writing process. This is the true birthplace of Harry Potter, she said. If you define birthplace as the spot where I put pen to paper for the first time.

After Graduating From College She Had A Stint Working For Amnesty International
The author studied French at the University of Exeter, graduating in 1986. According to her official biography, she “read so widely outside her French and Classics syllabus that she clocked up a fine of £50 for overdue books at the University library.” Her Classics knowledge was later used when she came up with the names for spells in the “Harry Potter” series.
After graduating, Rowling worked at the research desk for Amnesty International, doing translation work. She found the work important “I read hastily scribbled letters smuggled out of totalitarian regimes by men and women who were risking imprisonment to inform the outside world of what was happening to them,” she said but it didn’t suit her, as she said in a later interview.
“I am one of the most disorganized people in the world and, as I later proved, the worst secretary ever,” she said. “All I ever liked about working in offices was being able to type up stories on the computer when no-one was looking. I was never paying much attention in meetings because I was usually scribbling bits of my latest stories in the margins of the pad, or choosing excellent names for the characters.”

Its this daunting prospect that leads to the Worst Camping Trip Ever though of course, its brightened somewhat by the presence of the ever-faithful Ron and Hermione.
To be fair, the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows arent as quotidianly miserable as the events of OotP at least we know the characters are suffering for a greater purpose. But that doesnt stop this from being, as you might expect, the darkest book in the series. From the corrupting influence of a locket that causes Ron to abandon his friends, to the tragic prophecy that Harry uncovers through more of Snapes past memories, this book truly tests the readers tolerance for beloved characters in distress.

“In 1990, my then-boyfriend and I decided to get a flat and move to Manchester together. We would flat hunt every once in awhile. One weekend after flat hunting, I took the train back to London on my own, and the idea for Harry Potter fell into my head,” Rowling told Urbanette magazine. “Coincidentally, I didn’t have a pen and was too shy to ask anyone for one on the train, which frustrated me at the time, but when I look back it was the best thing for me. It gave me the full four hours on the train to think up all the ideas for the book.”
