Does Harry Potter Kill Voldemort

Don't Miss

The Ordinary Way In Which He Died

Harry Potter kills Voldemort | Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 [HD]

After his Horcruxes are destroyed, Voldemort dies in a dramatic fashion, slowly crumbling into dust and blowing away in the wind. This death is very different in the books, where the character simply falls to the ground and dies in a very unspectacular manner, proving he is just like any other person.

Why He Wanted To Make Horcruxes From The Hogwarts Founders’ Items

There is never really an explanation given in the films as to why Voldemort chose to use items that once belonged to the Hogwarts founders. For example, he uses Ravenclaws diadem and Hufflepuffs cup. Dumbledore and others in the novels believe this is likely a result of his vanity and feeling of self-importance, choosing to use valuable items rather than innocuous ones.

Differences Between The Book And The Film Adaptation

In the film, after discovering the truth of himself being a Horcrux, Harry met up with Ron and Hermione at the Grand Staircase, where he expressed his necessity to die, before bidding the two of them goodbye, something he avoided in the novel.

The duel as shown in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

In the film version of the duel, Harry reveals himself after he jumps from Hagrid’s arms as Voldemort looks on with a surprised and bewildered look. Harry fires a Blasting Curse at Nagini, but due to her protection, it rebounds on several Death Eaters behind Voldemort. Next, Harry dashes through the Courtyard as Voldemort follows, firing explosions at him. Shocked, Voldemort turns and sees a fraction of his Death Eaters retreating. Bellatrix screams and yells at all the Death Eaters to return, even pinpointing the fleeing Lucius Malfoy. He then turns and sees Harry dashing into the Entrance Hall as the battle recommences. Harry runs up the Grand Staircase; Voldemort stuns Neville, sending him flying into the Great Hall. Voldemort then grabs Nagini and Disapparates in pursuit.

How Did Lord Voldemort Die Even Though Harry Potter Survived

If Harry Potter was himself a horcrux, then why did Voldemort die even though Harry was alive? I understand that Voldemort’s spell-“Avda kedavra” was ineffective against Harry, because of the Elder Wand. Did that short period death of Harry fulfill the criteria to destroy the horcrux that resided in his soul? If the horcrux was inside his soul then how is it possible to destroy part of Harry’s soul when he had never killed anyone like Voldemort did?

As Dumbledore explains in the movie:

On the night Lord Voldemort went to Godric’s Hollow to kill Harry and Lily Potter cast herself between them the curse rebounded. When that happened, a part of Voldemort’s soul latched itself onto the only living thing it could find: Harry himself. There ‘s a reason Harry can speak with snakes. There’s a reason he can look into Lord Voldemort’s mind. A part of Voldemort lives inside him.

That part was killed by Voldemort himself:

Harry: Professor, what is that? Dumbledore: Something beyond either of our help. A part of Voldemort sent here to die.

Overly Powerful: His Immortality From The Horcruxes

Haley

The main reason Voldemort has too much power is that hes nearly immortal. He splits his soul into seven pieces in order to ensure that he cant die. Of course, this isnt foolproof, but it does mean he cant be killed by curses or any normal methods as parts of his soul will continue to exist.

This gives him safety from death in a way that no other character has, and it’s so difficult for Harry to take down as every other Horcrux had to be destroyed first.

What Actually Killed Voldemort

4.8/5Voldemort’sactually killed VoldemortVoldemort’s

He didn’t die by a meagre Expelliarmus spell. He died by the Avada Kedavra curse. When Voldemort and Harry duelled their final match, the wand used by Voldemort was actually Harry’s. The Killing Curse rebounded on Voldemort, hence finally killing him.

Furthermore, what spell kills Voldemort? Avada Kedavra

Also, who killed Voldemort in Harry Potter?

But as you all know, Voldemort unaware that elder wand belonged to Harry, the wand couldn’t kill its owner and the curse gets rebounded on Voldemort himself and he dies. This is how Voldemort gets killed by himself. Harry killed the most of Voldemort. Voldemort split his soul in 8 pieces.

Why didnt Harry die when Voldemort killed him?

Voldemort unwittingly makes himself a Horcrux for Harry, although it might not be called that, by taking his blood earlier. In taking Harry’s blood to regenerate himself, Voldemort ensures that Harry will not die if Voldemort kills him. The blood ties Harry to Voldemort’s life, therefore Harry will live.

Defeated Easily: Harry Was Able To Escape Him Multiple Times

While compared to the general wizarding population, Voldemort is almost god=like in power, Harry is the exception. He might not have the same kind of abilities that Voldmeot does, but he has deep protective magic, along with the wand connection, that allows him to survive multiple Killing Curses.

Voldemort was also filled with hubris in believing over and over that he could easily defeat Harry, and this ended up being his downfall.

Tom Riddle Cursed The Defence Against The Dark Arts Position

Although it is hinted at that the Defence Against the Dark Arts teaching position is jinxed in the movies, no one goes into the specifics. In the books, it is heavily suggested that this was a result of Tom Riddle being turned down twice for the job. Dumbledore theorizes that he put on a curse on the position, meaning no one can do the job for more than a year.

Why Were Harry Potter And Lord Voldemort So Obsessed With The Deathly Hallows

Even before Voldemort decided to act on a prophecy he only half understood, the connections between the Dark Lord and the Boy Who Lived were numerous. Although they grew up decades apart, Harry and Voldemort were both half-bloods initially raised in a Muggle world, and neither had any concept of their own heritage or the wider wizarding world.

So they obviously werent aware of their common descent from the creators of the Deathly Hallows, aka the Three Brothers. It was a long time before Harry realised his Invisibility Cloak meant he was descended from Ignotus Peverell, and although Voldemort boasted of his Slytherin heritage he does not seem to have appreciated his Peverell ancestry. And yet there again he and Harry were similar: Voldemorts connection to the Peverells was also revealed through a family heirloom a ring containing Cadmus Peverells Resurrection Stone that had been passed down through the generations, eventually ending up in the possession of Voldemorts mothers family.

Of course, as Sirius once told Harry, most wizarding families were related in some way, and it certainly wasnt this distant, unknown connection that led Voldemort to target Harry. Instead, Dumbledore believed Voldemort marked out Harry because he had noticed the similarities they shared not just their childhoods, but their appearance, Parselmouth status, twin-core wands, connected minds and, briefly, a shared interest in the Elder Wand.

Defeated Easily: Not Understanding Magic Like Lilys Protection

Voldemorts weakest points often can be boiled down to his own pride and arrogance. He doesnt truly grasp the concepts of love and sacrifice and how these facets of humanity provide protection in a magical sense. He continually underestimates the magical protection Harry has because Lily died for him.

He also underestimated that Harry himself would be willing to die in order to defeat Voldemort. Harry gave himself up to kill the Horcrux inside of him, and Voldemort could never understand that.

The Avada Kedavra Curse Was Used

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

It is stated that in various parts of the books, notably in Half-Blood Prince, that the Killing Curse does not leave physical signs of damage.

The Muggle authorities were perplexed. As far as I am aware, they do not know to this day how the Riddles died, for the Avada Kedavra Curse does not usually leave any sign of damage.

In the introduction of Goblet of Fire, which delves into the murder of the Riddles and the Muggle police initially suspecting their gardener, the Muggle police receive a forensic report detailing that there was no discernible reason as to why they died.

The police had never read an odder report. A team of doctors had examined the bodies and had concluded that none of the Riddles had been poisoned, stabbed, shot, strangled, suffocated, or harmed at all. In fact , the Riddles all appeared to be in perfect health apart from the fact that they were all dead.

While there may be other magical methods to get this done, Tom Riddle Jr wanted to frame Morfin for the murders, and most other methods for murder carried a risk of being seen as out-of-character for Morfin, who has demonstrated preference and skill for the Dark Arts, engages in openly hostile behaviour towards the Riddles and has a plausible motive for murder.

To that end, while modifying Morfin’s memory might have been enough, the spell that was last used by that wand being the Killing Curse would seal the deal.

Does Snape Hate Muggle Borns

Snape disparages mudbloods and joins in on their massacre as a death eater, after idolizing and planning to join them for several years in school during the war. JK Rowlings gives each of these characters a Freudian excuse to hate muggles and muggleborns. And yes, it is confirmed that they ALL DID hate muggleborns.

Lily’s Protection In Voldemort’s Blood Saved Harry

When Lord Voldemort rebuilt his physical body in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he used Harry’s blood. That ingredient would go on to aid in the Dark Lord’s downfall. At first it seemed that the love protection was canceled out when Voldemort used Harry’s blood, since Voldemort was able to touch Harry without experiencing pain – but that wasn’t the case. The protection, first created by Lily, actually lived on through Voldemort when he received a new body. As Dumbledore explained, “His body keeps her sacrifice alive, and while that enchantment survives, so do you.”

When Voldemort hit Harry with the Killing Curse in the forest, it destroyed the Horcrux that resided in Harry, but left Harry himself alive. Since Voldemort was still alive, Lily’s love spell was still in effect. Harry was sent to limbo, where he encountered Dumbledore. He was given a choice to die and finally rest,;or return home, and he chose the latter. Nagini remained as Voldemort’s last Horcrux until Neville destroyed her with the;Gryffindor’s Sword. With no Horcruxes remaining as Voldemort’s primary defenses, this left the Dark Lord vulnerable.

He Felt That Hogwarts Was His True Home

Why Did Voldemort HAVE to Kill the Potters? – Harry Potter Explained

Voldemort clearly has a special connection with Hogwarts in the books. The films leave this detail out, but readers will know that the villain has a strong connection with the school and acts as it’s his true home. Voldemorts young life was spent away from his family and it also signified that he was special as it is the school for wizards.

Harry Being The True Master Of The Elder Wand

The second part is that the Dark Lord used the Elder Wand, a wand that saw Harry as its master, againt Harry, so none of the spells he tried to cast on Harry worked.

Voldemort is also using the Elder Wand – the wand that is really Harrys. It does not work properly against its true owner; no curse Voldemort casts on Harry functions properly; neither the Cruciatus curse nor the Killing Curse.

The Avada Kedavra curse, however, is so powerful that it does hurt Harry, and also succeeds in killing the part of him that is not truly him, in other words, the fragment of Voldemorts own soul still clinging to his. The curse also disables Harry severely enough that he could have succumbed to death if he had chosen that path . But Harry does decide to struggle back to consciousness, capitalises on Lilys escape route, and pulls himself back to the realm of the living. – FAQ on J.K. Rowlings website

Overly Powerful: The Killing Curse Was Nearly Unstoppable

One of the main reasons Voldemort is overpowered is the existence of Avada Kedavra. While it marks sense there would be curses that could kill people, the Killing Curse is too powerful and unstoppable. Theres nothing that can be done to protect against it, so theres nothing to keep Voldemort from killing whoever he wants.

It would have made more sense if there were a few more weak spots and ways to defend from this spell. Harry is the only person who ever survives it, and this just seems too imbalanced.
