The Appetite For All Things Harry Potter Is Insatiable
Warner Bros. is planning a new Harry Potter movie based on the West End play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
According to the report, sources say that Warner Bros. executives want to complete a movie adaptation of the play as soon as 2020 and want the man who played Harry in eight Harry Potter movies already, Daniel Radcliffe, in the mix.
Warners is secretly working on getting the movie rights and a screenplay settled, and of course in their minds only one man should be Harry, a well-placed Hollywood source is quoted as saying in the NY Daily News.
However he has made it clear that his mind is certainly not focused on returning to the role anytime soon and that could be until he hits 40.
Radcliffe didnt rule out a return to his role as Harry when discussing it recently, but, as the source suggested, he doesnt seem to have any interest in doing so anytime soon.
“It is a tricky one,” he told The Sun recently.
“You never want to close a door on anything, especially something that has been so good to me.
“At the moment I am definitely not at a stage where I would feel comfortable going back to it, who knows in 10 and 20 years if I would feel differently about that. And I think I have still got a little while for me to be age appropriate for this Harry.”

Harry Potter Movies In Release Order
There are no complicated interweaving timelines to deal with if you watch the Potter movies in release date order its two distinct series, with an incomplete set of prequels following on from the parent franchise. That means theres no need to introduce any kind of ‘Machete Order’ yet; though if we get some massive revelation in Fantastic Beasts 3, 4 and 5, that may change. If we assume that we’re going to get three more movies of the series, here’s what was originally planned for the spin-off.
Rowling has said that the films will cover 19 years of Wizarding World history. That will take the last one up to 1945, the year that Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald and claimed the Elder Wand from him.
That was also the year that a certain Tom Riddle graduated from Hogwarts.
All that considered, it seems unlikely that the fifth movie won’t feature the climactic battle between Dumbledore and his former friend. Credence could also turn out to play an important role in their struggle, especially if the theory that Dumbledore’s sister Ariana was another Obscurial turns out to be true.

While sitting on a panel about the new series, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’, the author confirmed she was “pretty sure” there were going to be five, and later confirmed the number on Twitter.

Today’s shareholders meeting brought a slew of major announcements from Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara, including the big news about a slate of DC Comics superhero films that includes a two-part Justice League film production and several solo movies for characters such as Wonder Woman, the Flash, and Green Lantern. Also part of Tsujihara’s presentation was word of three new films set in the Harry Potter cinematic universe, complete with release dates.
The trilogy of films will be based on author J.K. Rowling’sFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Harry Potter film director David Yates will likewise helm these new pictures.
