Harry Potter Audiobooks Have Been Listened To For More Than A Billion Hours On Audible

Harry Potter fans have spent more than a billion hours listening to the audiobook version of the popular fantasy series on Audible, BreakingNews.ie reported. The above milestone has been achieved at a time when Pottermore Publishing is celebrating a decade of digital publishing of the series while the audiobook version first made its debut on Audible seven years ago. The UK editions of the audiobooks have been narrated by Stephen Fry while its Jim Dale who lent his voice for the US editions.

Pottermore Publishing also has some interesting figures to share about the one billion hours milestone. As the publishing house estimated, you get to listen to all seven Harry Potter audiobooks read by Dale 8,547,009 times in a billion hours time frame. That is also the time that you would perhaps take to go through Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry more than 14,000 times.

Living with the ever-expanding Harry Potter family over these past twenty years has been such a joy, Dale said. Especially rewarding for me has been the opportunity to touch the lives of so many young people, and the knowledge that my spoken words have brought both comfort and support when needed and, of course, always so much magic.

Audible stated the one billion hours that its members spent listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks cover all the regions where Audible is available.

First, members of your Amazon Household can share Audible books by way of the Family Library feature. If another member of your Amazon Household has a Harry Potter book in his or her library, follow the below steps.

• Log in to and hover over Account & Lists at the top right of the screen.
• Go to Content and Devices. Select the Preferences tab.
• Next, select Households and Family Library, and then select Manage your Household.
• Thereafter, you need to Manage Your Family Library.

Second, if a friend has a Harry Potter title in his or her Audible library, he or she can share the book by opening your Audible app and tapping My Library at the bottom of the screen. Then, find the specific Audible book and tap the three dots to the far right of the book. Tap Send this Book.

Similar to borrowing a physical copy of the audiobooks from a friend, you could also check if a friend would let you borrow their Overdrive or Libby accounts. Its possible libraries in other places would have a copy available in their online lending library even if yours doesnt.

To do this, youd simply enter your friends library card number just as you do for setting up your own accounts in the apps. And then after you have finished with the audiobook, you can delete their library account from your app and it will return sole control to the owner. On July 3, 2019, Spotify removed all the Harry Potter audiobooks from its library. This decision was met with a great deal of backlash from users, who took to social media to express their disappointment.
