In Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, it is revealed that Bellatrix gave birth to Voldemort’s daughter Delphi in Malfoy Manor before the Battle of Hogwarts. Dumbledore knowsDumbledore had placed a charm on the house and knew immediately what had occurred . He dispatches Hagrid to rescue the infant Harry.
What happened to HarryLily was killed, but 1-year-old Harry survived, marked with a large jagged wound by the curse meant to take his life. Voldemort lost almost all of his powers as well as his body, and fled horribly weakened. Dumbledore believes that Lilys love and sacrifice created invincible protection for Harry, and that the curse then rebounded on Voldemort.

One of the sweetest characters in the Harry Potter movies is definitely Luna Lovegood, portrayed by Evanna Lynch. But if things had gone differently, Saoirse Ronan could have landed the role.

Even though the Harry Potter films wrapped up in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the franchise has continued on since then. Thanks to the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and prequel movies, the wizarding world hasnt died. In fact, when Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was released in 2016, it got everyone talking.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Thems lead star Eddie Redmayne actually tried to join the magical universe of Harry Potter years before he landed his eventual role as Newt Scamander. I actually auditioned to play Tom Riddle when I was back at university, Redmayne told Empire. I properly failed and didnt get a call back. Over the years I always hoped I might be cast as a member of the Weasley family, but unfortunately not.
While Redmayne sadly didnt get to star in any of the Harry Potter films, he did get to play a pretty fun character in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, which is pretty sweet.

In the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Rowling pits Harry against Tom Riddle, Lord Voldemort’s “memory” within a secret diary which has possessed Ron’s younger sister Ginny. In the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry is given a magical map known as the Maruaders Map by Fred and George Weasley which shows the location of every person at Hogwarts as well as their real name, even if theyre disguised or hidden. They tell Harry they studied the map thoroughly during their time at Hogwarts and owe much of their mischievous success to it.
Remarkably as this Reddit user points out, neither Harry, Fred, or George ever realize there is another name sleeping in Ron and Harrys dormitory every night Peter Pettigrew, who went into hiding as a pet rat with the Weasley family for 12 years after helping to murder Lily and James Potter.
Its possible Fred and George stopped looking at the map before Ron started school, but since Scabbers is Percys old rat Ron inherited, it implies that Percy had Scabbers for his first few years at Hogwarts.
It would be remarkably convenient if Fred and George never checked on their older brother while causing mischief or looking over their secret map at night where they would have seen Pettigrews name.
Its Probably Best Tilda Swinton Didnt Get This Harry Potter Role
When you think of Tilda Swinton, you might think of Doctor Strange or The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. But Swinton could have also been a magical being in the Harry Potter films, had she not had a moral objection to them.
According to Newstalk, Swinton didnt want the role of Professor Sybil Trelawney, who appeared in three films in the Harry Potter franchise. Instead, Emma Thompson landed the part, and she nailed it so it might have been for the best that Swinton said no. But why did Swinton say no? Well, it turns out that she wasnt a fan of one particular aspect of Harry Potter: boarding school. Thats why I dislike films like Harry Potter which tend to romanticize such places, she told The Scots Magazine.I think they are a very cruel setting in which to grow up and I dont feel children benefit from that type of education. Children need their parents and the love parents can provide.
Clearly, Swinton wasnt meant to be part of the Harry Potter universe.

James Potter was Harrys father and he was a young wizard killed by Voldemort in the 1970s when he was killed protecting his son Harry when he was 15 months old. James was very popular at Hogwarts but also he had enemies there. Severus Snape was jealous of James even when they met the first time and he always bullied him. Snape hate him more when he started dating Lily and marry him because Snape loved Lily for his entire life. Lily chooses James over Snape because he proved his more important loyalty. Snape loved her till his death.
Why Did Voldemort Want To Kill The Potters In The First Place
This may well be because Lily and James were some of Dumbledore’s most powerful and avid supporters as well as integral members of the Order of the Phoenix. So the biggest threat to V-Voldemort and his Order.
But why go through all the motions of murdering an entire family, even though they are cooped up in a hidden house and posing no immediate danger?

- 1I just wanted to point out the irony: the parents of Neville were Aurors and had defied Voldemort thrice as well. Now guess at the end of which month Neville was born: July. Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
In the third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Rowling uses a time travel premise. Harry learns that his parents were betrayed to Voldemort by their friend Peter Pettigrew, who framed Harrys godfather Sirius Black for the crimes, condemning him to Azkaban, the wizard prison. When Sirius escapes to find Harry, Harry and Hermione use a Time Turner to save him and a hippogriff named Buckbeak. When Pettigrew escapes, an innocent Sirius becomes a hunted fugitive once again. Harry learns how to create a Patronus, which takes the form of a stag, the same as his late fathers.
Who Did Harry Potter Go To When His Parents Died
This is important in the later books / movies. JK Rowling herself said that Hagrid was always safe from being killed- as she had the image of him carrying Harrys lifeless body during the Battle of Hogwarts. Hagrid brings Harry to, and takes Harry from number 4 Privet drive for a clean end to a chapter of Harrys life.
