The Tragedy In Godrics Hollow

Voldemort’s death scene [ HD 1080 ]

According to a prophecy recited by Professor Sibyl Trelawney , Harry Potter was named as the person who would stop Lord Voldemort.

The prophecy was made in 1980 and in 1981, Lord Voldemort, the leader of the Death Eaters during the First Wizarding War, went to Godrics Hollow to murder Harry Potter, after having found out about the prophecy.;

Despite being protected by his parents, James and Lily Potter, Harry soon met Lord Voldemort, as he killed his parents with ease and approached the child.;

A young Harry Potter meeting Voldemort for the first time in 1981

Voldemort intended to kill Harry, but his Killing Curse backfired and he was not successful. Lord Voldemort seemingly died in this incident, while Harry was left with his famous thunder-shaped scar. The rest is history Lord Voldemort never actually died, but disappeared for a while, while was sent off to his Muggle relatives until his enrolment in Hogwarts.;

Richard Harris The First Man Behind Harry Potter’s Dumbledore Died In 2002

The wizarding world of Harry Potter would not be nearly the place it is without Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts. He guides Harry throughout his time at the school and beyond in his fight against Voldemort, and he delivers some of the best one-liners. The actor who originally filled the role in the first two Harry Potter films, Richard Harris, died after fighting an aggressive form of Hodgkin’s disease, and, as noted by Entertainment Weekly, had a fighting spirit that was hard to come by.;

Chris Columbus, the director behind the first two Harry Potter films, said in a press conference just hours before Harris died that the actor had every intention of coming back to set as Dumbledore that despite his illness, he was ready to bring the wizarding professor back to life. “He did threaten to kill me if I recast ,” Columbus said during the press conference. “I cannot even repeat what he said. He still has got that fight inside of him.”

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was the last film that Harris appeared in as Dumbledore. He was later replaced by actor Michael Gambon.

The Elder Wand Was His All Along

No matter how many horcruxes Harry and his friends successfully destroyed, Voldemort was still a more powerful wizard than him, so when Harry arose from the dead to pick a final fight with the Dark Lord, he was handily overtaken by Voldemort. But Voldemort still couldn’t kill him a second time with the wand, even after he’d taken ownership from Snape. Why? Well, it turned out that Snape wasn’t the one who’d gained control of the Elder Wand in the first place, so it didn’t pass to Voldemort upon Snape’s execution by Nagini.

Sure, Snape had killed Dumbledore and taken possession of the wand in Half-Blood Prince, but it was Draco who’d originally disarmed Dumbledore, and thus received the allegiance of the Elder Wand. Then, when Harry disarmed him in their subsequent duel, it was Harry who’d laid claim to the Elder Wand’s efficacy. So, while the Elder Wand was successfully used to strike its master down in the forest, when Harry had thoroughly surrendered himself, he still wasn’t disarmed of the wand in that battle. So, it remained loyal to Harry, instead of Voldemort. When Voldemort tried to cast a death curse on him a second time, this time against its owner’s wishes, it was a no-go. This is how the fight got dragged out long enough for …

Lily’s Protection In Voldemort’s Blood Saved Harry

When Lord Voldemort rebuilt his physical body in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he used Harry’s blood. That ingredient would go on to aid in the Dark Lord’s downfall. At first it seemed that the love protection was canceled out when Voldemort used Harry’s blood, since Voldemort was able to touch Harry without experiencing pain – but that wasn’t the case. The protection, first created by Lily, actually lived on through Voldemort when he received a new body. As Dumbledore explained, “His body keeps her sacrifice alive, and while that enchantment survives, so do you.”

When Voldemort hit Harry with the Killing Curse in the forest, it destroyed the Horcrux that resided in Harry, but left Harry himself alive. Since Voldemort was still alive, Lily’s love spell was still in effect. Harry was sent to limbo, where he encountered Dumbledore. He was given a choice to die and finally rest,;or return home, and he chose the latter. Nagini remained as Voldemort’s last Horcrux until Neville destroyed her with the;Gryffindor’s Sword. With no Horcruxes remaining as Voldemort’s primary defenses, this left the Dark Lord vulnerable.

Who Dies In Harry Potter And The Cursed Child The Secret Is Out

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 : Poster ...

Those who saw Harry Potter and the Cursed Child before it was published were asked to keep the secrets. However, the script was finally released Sunday, so spoilers are officially out there. If you just cant wait to read the book, you can look below to find out who dies in the play.

Cursed Child actually has a very low body count. Unlike Deathly Hallows, there is no war, so that makes sense. Only one person dies: Craig Bowker Jr.

If youre wondering who that is, its a new character introduced in the play. He is in Albus Severus Potters year at Hogwarts, and its pretty easy to compare him to Cedric Diggory. Really, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a Potter feels responsible for his death.

Craig finds Albus and Scorpius Malfoy on the Quidditch pitch after the whole school is sent to look for the missing boys. However, theyre all in danger. Albus and Scorpius are with the evil Delphi, a witch trying to bring back Lord Voldemort. When Craig appears and says all of Hogwarts is looking for the boys, Delphi says, Avada Kedavra, and kills him.

The death is quick, but its going to leave an impact on Albus. He feels partially responsible and wants to avenge his friends murder. Unfortunately, since he has hardly any time on the page, Craigs death isnt quite as impactful for the audience.

How Did Voldemort Die In The Movie

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the final showdown was far more dramatic. Harry and Voldemort launched themselves off a bridge, grappled with each other and then duelled in an explosive spectacle, before Harrys spell overcame his. After that, Voldemorts body disintegrated into layers upon layers of ash and floated away into the wind.

‘harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Week 11 of EWs 2011 Summer Movie Body Count continues with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. We expected this to reignite the debate over whether a certain someone technically dies, but we didnt anticipate how difficult it would be to count the dead at the Battle of Hogwarts with the variety of curses, quick camera shots, and changes from the book. To be added to our list of casualties, you must die onscreen or have your lifeless body displayed. Lets discuss, but keep it civil. Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD!

Gringrotts: Though the dragon blew fire multiple times, the only goblin we know its flames engulfed was poor, formerly ImperiusedBogrod. I counted at least three Gringrott workers falling to their deaths when the dragon destroyed the track their cart was riding on. Maybe they were the lucky ones: Judging by the roughly 20 bodies of guards and goblins, including Griphook, shown slain in Voldemorts rage or lying on the ground after he arrived to verify that Helga Hufflepuffs Cup horcrux had been stolen from Bellatrixs vault, he hadnt been in a merciful mood.

Death Eater with bad timing: Safe bet: Dont speak to Voldemort. Ever. Avada Kedavra!

Lavender Brown: With werewolf Fenrir Greyback gnawing on her neck before Hermione cast a spell to get him off of her, Im going to say Lavender didnt make it and was the girl Trelawney pronounced dead in the Great Hall.

Note: Were not going to count Lily and James.

Why Harry Potter’s Crabbe Was Replaced In The Last Film

The reason behind Zabini taking his place in Deathly Hallows Part 2

If you’ve ever wondered why Vincent Crabbe is replaced in Happy Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2, read on.

The last Harry Potter film came out in 2011 so, granted, it probably hasn’t been at the forefront of your mind ever since. A whole decade has passed since then. But that hasn’t dampened quite how surprised we are by the reason behind Vincent Crabbe’s character being replaced by Blaise Zibini in the Deathly Hallows Part 2 film.

If you read the final Harry Potter book by JK Rowling, you’ll remember the memorable moment when Drago Malfoy, Crabbe and Gregory Goyle fought Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in the room of requirement during the Battle of Hogwarts.

And yet, Crabbe is replaced by Blaise Zabini, another Slytherin student, during this scene in the film. WHY?

Apparently it’s because the actor who played Crabbe, Jamie Waylett, actually landed himself in some serious trouble off screen, which eventually cost him his role in the last film in the Harry Potter franchise. Oh dear.

The BBC report Waylett was arrested in 2009 for growing marijuana in his family home, and later pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and possession of a knife. He was 20-years-old at the time, and ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work by Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 came out two years later in 2011.

J.K. Rowling has said that Voldemort’s Boggart would be his own corpse, since death was his greatest fear

There Are Some Interesting Fan Theories As To Why Harry Drops The Resurrection Stone

Many of them are rooted in the fact that Harry didn’t believe, personally, that anyone should ever use the Resurrection Stone, which, as the name entails, is able to bring people back to life. If you aren’t familiar with the series, then here’s skinny on the stone: It was the second “Hallow” created. Hallows are magical items / relics that are capable of some truly wondrous feats.

The Resurrection Stone was the second Hallow ever created, and it’s rumored that Death itself had made it. When combined with the two other Hallows the Cloak of Invisibility and the Elder Wand the possessor would become the “Master of Death.”

Harry supposedly drops the stone for several reasons, one being because it didn’t truly bring people back, just “shades” of them as Redditor Talgori puts it.

Another reason for Harry ultimately dropping the stone is that if he were to get rid of it, then that would mean no one else could become a Master of Death. This means that Voldemort would never be able to simultaneously possess all three of the Hallows.

Interestingly enough though, the rumored way to become a true “Master of Death” in the Harry Potter series doesn’t exactly pertain to gaining ownership of the Hallows.

How Was Voldemort Originally Supposed To Die

Greg Butler, a visual effects supervisor at Moving Picture, workshopped different versions of Voldemorts death with two other visual effects artists. Rather than going Rowlings understated route, they decided they wanted to transform it into a visual spectacle revolving around a blackened tree.

He explained to The Huffington Post that they went through a whole bunch of concept art and some crazy stuff was in there. He elaborated on the most dramatic spectacle, saying, becomes this blackened, charcoal-y tree shape thats growing and then that tree turns to ash and blows away in the windthats how far down the road we went with some of these designs, trying to come up with something you really couldnt miss.
