Weekend Estimates: Beauty And The Beast Sets New March Record
Beauty and the Beast set out this weekend to show that its not just super heroes who can deliver big openings at the box office, and its doing so in some style. Disney is projecting a $170 million opening weekend for the live action fairytale, and the film is setting records around the world. At home, itll have the biggest March weekend of all time, and the fourth-best Saturday of all time. The studio is projecting it will have the sixth-best Sunday in history, although my money would be on it slightly outperforming today, for the fifth-best Sunday, and that it will challenge Iron Man 3s $174 million for the sixth-best opening of all time. What About Fantastic Beasts
Most hardcore Harry Potter fans have seen Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald and are eagerly awaiting the third movie in the Fantastic Beasts series. However, some fans do not consider the Fantastic Beasts movies part of the main narrative of Harry Potter. This is mostly because the Fantastic Beasts movies follow different characters than the Harry Potter series.
While the Harry Potter movies focus on whats going on at Hogwarts with Harry and his friends, the Fantastic Beasts movies focus on characters like Newt Scamander and younger versions of Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald. Along with Newt, we meet American witches and wizards like Tina and her sister Queenie , a muggle/no-maj baker Jacob , and the infamous Gellert Grindelwald , whose crimes are mentioned throughout the Harry Potter series prior to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This film acts as a way to expand the Potterverse.

Shell Cottage: Freshwater West Pembrokeshire Wales
This stretch of golden sand was the location for Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacours Shell Cottage in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. When Harry found himself inside the whimsical cottage he could hear nothing but the ebb and flow of the sea. Although the cottage was taken down after filming, you can still follow in the footsteps of Harry and friends.
It’s also the spot to;catch surfers expertly riding waves kicked up by the strong rip currents just off the beach. The south-westerly facing spot boasts Wales best waves. ;

Finally Harry Potter Movies Success
The Harry Potter movies marked an important development of cinema and were hugely successful over 8 films.
The story had reached the end that Rowling had originally planned. It was the end of a long run, and although the public still wanted more, the series had run its course.
The stars had spent most of their childhood on this one series of films and wanted to move on, and Rowling had no more to write.
The story was complete.
The movies had produced a total Box Office income of $7.7 Billion with a budget of just $1.2 Billion, and that is a good investment by anyones standards.
There have been derivative works produced, such as a stage play and musical.
There has been a computer game and many books about the series.
However, just when everyone thought that the wizarding world was done.
Rowling produced a prequel Fantastic Beasts set in the wizarding universe but tells a new set of stories from years before the harry potter books, the original movie being set in the USA.
Two of these new series have been released, and there are a further three in planning.
We even get to see a younger Dumbledore in this series, so maybe it is not over after all.

Azkaban prisoner, unregistered Animagus, and Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black, was played by Gary Oldman.
He also briefly appeared on two episodes of NBC’s “Friends.”

10 – ‘Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them’
Newt Scamander’s debut in cinemas was a bit disappointing, let’s be honest. Although the change of location and the introduction of more magical creatures was welcomed, it all just fell a little bit flat. The most memorable moments of the movie revolve around Scamander’s interaction with “No-Maj” Jacob Kowalski, and sisters Tina and Queenie.
9 – ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’
Marginally better, if only just, ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’ delved deeper into the wider Wizarding World by taking the action to Europe. The focus of the movie is again less focused on the magical creatures aspect and more on the big baddie Grindelwald. While the action was ramped up for the sequel, the rest of it offered nothing very new, except for Johnny Depp actually giving a decent performance for once. Strap yourselves in for more potential beige shenanigans because there are three more sequels coming down the line.

Lacock Abbey‘s Warming Room which contains a giant cauldron was Professor Quirrells Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, whilst Professor Snapes Potions Class was held in the Sacristy. It was in the abbeys Chapter House that Harry stumbled upon the Mirror of Erised, which shows the users hearts deepest desire.

Weekend Predictions: Will Fantastic Be Fantastic Or Will It Merely Be A Beast At The Box Office
At the beginning of the month, we thought there would be four wide releases / expansions this week. However, it turns out there will be just one, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The lack of wide releases should help it at the box office and there is a small chance it could top $100 million over the next three days. While there are no other wide releases, there are a few films opening or expanding semi-wide. Of these, The Edge of Seventeen is the only one with a realistic shot at the top five. It is earning the best reviews of the week and did earn a lot of film festival buzz, so that should help. Billy Lynns Long Halftime Walk had an amazing opening in limited release last weekend, but it will likely struggle as it expands into just over 1,000 theaters this weekend. Finally theres Bleed for This, which is expected to barely make the top ten. This weekend last year, the final installment of the Hunger Games franchise opened with just over $100 million. Theres a slim chance Fantastic Beasts will do the same. Even if it doesnt, the depth this year is much better than last year and that should help 2016 win in the year-over-year comparison. More…

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone introduced everyone to the world of Harry Potter . We meet 11-year-old Harry as he discovers that he is not just a neglected child, but a wizard. He then travels to Hogwarts where he meets his soon-to-be best friends forever, Hermione and Ron .
Quickly, our hero is tested when he learns that dark forces reside in Hogwarts trying to bring back He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, or for those brave souls Lord Voldemort. Chris Columbus directs this Harry Potter movie and really does a fantastic job of bringing new and old fans of the characters into this world. If this first film wasnt so well received, who knows if the franchise would have gained as much success as it did. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone really set the films up for potential success.
