The Quill Of Acceptance

The Entire Timeline of Voldemort’s Horcruxes: Creation to Destruction (Collab w/HarryPotterFolklore)

According to Pottermore, the Quill of Acceptance is a magical object which detects the birth of a child with magical capabilities. It is located in Hogwarts School, where it records the children’s names in a large book. Professor McGonagall consults the book and sends out the subsequent Hogwarts acceptance letters by owl once the child turns eleven. It has been made very popular due to its use in registering users for the closed beta of Pottermore.

Did Hermione Know Harry Was A Horcrux

Although the movies would have you believe Hermione did not know about Harry being a Horcrux, the books tell a different story.

During their search for other Horcruxes, Hermione noticed that Harry started to resemble Voldemort more as each day passed. Paired up with the fact that Harrys scar started hurting more and he had consistent nightmares.

Given that Hermione is one of the smartest witches in the entire franchise and she started researching Horcruxes as soon as she learned about them it is likely that she knew.;

Why Didnt The Basilisk Fang Kill Harrys Horcrux

A question many wondered was why Harrys Horcrux wasnt destroyed when he was bitten in the second movie. Tom Riddless diary along with other Horcruxes got destroyed immediately but Harry did not die immediately.

Harry was only bitten once while the diary was stabbed several times. This allowed Harry to survive for some time after he was bitten. The Basilisks venom is powerful but it allowed Fawkes to show up and heal Harry with its tears.

The bottom line is that since the diary was stabbed several times it was beyond any possibility of magical or physical repair, but since Harry was bitten only once which did not cause irreparable damage.

A Horcrux Can Become Harmless After A Long Period Of Isolation

Horcruxes are made through a dark ritual, which makes the soul inside the container itself contaminated. Consequently, a Horcrux can influence its surrounding with negative energy, pitting people against each other or themselves. Isolating a Horcrux for a prolonged period may cripple its abilities… for a while.

Not All Horcruxes Are Known To The Wizarding World

Horcruxes

The books were very vague when it comes to Horcruxes that did not belong to Voldemort. The Harry Potter saga focuses on Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes only, which makes Potterheads believe that;he;wasn’t the only wizards to ever produce such artifacts. Who knows how many more immortal dark wizards existed throughout the centuries?

How Were Lord Voldemorts Seven Horcruxes Destroyed

When Harry Potter destroyed Tom Riddles diary in the Chamber of Secrets, he didnt even know what it was. Later, Dumbledore;destroyed Marvolo Gaunts Ring in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince just before he died. Ron destoyed Salazar Slytherins Locket with Gryffindors sword in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. Hermione destroyed Helga Hufflepuffs Cup in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II. Harry destroyed Rowena Ravenclaws Diadem in Part II as well.

Voldemort destroyed the Horcrux in Harry Potter, in the last film as well, but he didnt realize what hed done until after attempting to kill the Boy who Lived. Finally, in that same film, Neville Longbottom was responsible for killing, Nagini the Snake.

Who Did Voldemort Kill For Each Horcrux

Voldemort created his first Horcruxes on June;13th, 1943. He was still attending Hogwarts and had just learned he was the descendent of Salazar Slytherin which led him to open the Chamber of Secrets. He taunted Salazar Slytherins Basilisk to attack Moaning Myrtle. After she died he used his severed path of the soul to create Horcrux and place it in his personal diary.;

The second one was Marvolo Gaunts Ring, which he created in October 1943 in the family home in Little Hangletone. He killed his own father, Tom Riddle SR., via the Killing curse. He made the ring his new Horcrux but was not aware it contained the Resurrection stone.

After that, anytime between 1946 and 1979, he killed a random muggle and created Salazar Slytherins Locket and Rowena Ravenclaws Diadem after killing an Albanian peasant in 1946. The same year he killed Hepzibah Smith, the woman he was living with, and created Helga Hufflepuffs Cup.

He created Nagini in 1994 while he was in Albanian in search of knowledge and like-minded wizards, which were willing to help him in the quest to take over the wizarding world. He achieved this after killing Bertha Jorkins.

Lastly, he created Harry Potter in 1981 in Godrics Hollow. He tried to kill him after killing both Lilly and James but was not successful. Again, he did create a Horcrux, but Harry was not a true Horcrux because there was no intention on Voldemorts part.;

When Did Each Horcrux Get Destroyed In The Harry Potter Movies

Most of the destruction was shown in the movies; however, there is one that we did not see. Albus Dumbledore was the first one to learn about Voldemorts Horcruxes and then set out to find and destroy them.

The first Horcrux he found was Marvolo Gaunts Ring. After much effort, he destroyed it in 1996 in his office, using Godric Griffindors sword.

The first Horcrux that gets destroyed during the movies is Tom Riddles Diary. Harry destroyed it using the Basilisks fang in 1993 when he encountered Voldemorts soul in the Chambers of Secrets during the second movie.;

After that Ron destroyed the locket in the forest of Dean during their search for Horcruxes. He managed to do this by using Godric Griffindors sword after Harry opened the locket using parseltongue. This happened during the first part of Deathly Hallows.

Hermione destroyed Helga Hufflepuffs cup during the Battle of Hogwarts in the Chamber of Secrets. She did not know how to destroy it, hence she decided to use the basilisk fang knowing that it has already once destroyed the Horcrux.

Rowena Ravenclaws Diadem got destroyed the same day, during the confrontation between the trio and Draco Malfoy. Crab cast a fiendfyre inside the Room of Requirement but could not control it resulting in the diadem getting destroyed accidentally.

And lastly, Harry was killed by Voldemort himself via the killing curse. All the remaining Horcruxes got destroyed during the second part of Deathly Hallows.

The Horrific Act Required To Create A Horcrux Might Be Cannibalism

The REAL way to Make a Horcrux – Harry Potter Fan Theory

Speaking of horrific acts, many people believe cannibalism might be used to create Horcruxes, it is kinda off-putting, to say the least. While many fans argue that the bodies used for the spell were intact, some still believe that, in the wizarding world, organs can be removed without leaving a scar.

What Are The 8 Horcruxes

The eight Voldemorts Horcruxes are:

  • Tom Riddles Diary
  • Harry Potter
  • Professor Quirinus Quirrell
  • The eight Horcruxes refer to Lord Voldemorts Horcruxes. He initially wanted to create six of them because he believed in the magical power regarding the number seven.;

    Because of this and his understanding that the soul can not be separated infinitely he refused to replace any destroyed Horcruxes.

    However, due to his instability, he accidentally created another one when he tried to kill Harry Potter. Since there was no actual determination to create the Horcrux Harry is not a true Horcrux.

    He was the wizard that went the furthest with this form of magic. He created most of them and had the deepest understanding of their working as he was aware of their usage as a weapon. Many wizards, including Dumbledore, considered him to be the wizard that was the closest to becoming immortal.

    He first learned of Horcruxes while attending Hogwarts as a student. It is not clear how but many people believe he wandered into the restricted section of the Hogwarts library. As a precaution, Dumbledor later removed all of the books containing information about the Horcruxes and relocated them into his office.

    After gaining a general understanding of it, Voldemort decided that he will go through with this to enable him to become the greatest wizard in history and rule over the Wizarding world.

    Jk Rowling Is Reluctant To Share Information About The Horrific Act Required To Create A Horcrux

    Many fans are eager to learn of the terrible deed one must perform to successfully conjure a Horcrux. So many theories have been shared with no answer from the author which begs the question: how horrible is it? At some point in time, Rowling told her editor the entire process, which pushed her to get sick.

    The Seven Horcruxes Of Voldemort

    In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, after destroying the locket Ron mentions that there are three more to go. But there were seven horcruxes. One of them, the book, was destroyed earlier in the chamber of secrets and one is this locket Ron destroyed. If there were three more to go, then what were the other two that were destroyed earlier? What Dumbeldore destroyed was fake, right?

    Voldemort set out to split his soul in 7. And the last piece of soul remains within him, so in essence, there are 6 Horcruxes to be destroyed. From The Half-Blood Prince:

    Riddle: Can you only split the soul once? For instance, isn’t seven…

    Slughorn: Seven?!

    Of these Horcruxes, 2 were eliminated before Deathly Hallows:

    • Harry destroyed the piece of soul in Riddle’s diary in Chamber of Secrets;
    • Dumbledore destroyed the piece of soul in Gaunt’s ring in Half-Blood Prince.

    This means that after Ron eliminated the locket Horcrux, only 3 were indeed left.

    However…

    What they and Voldemort don’t know, and what Dumbledore knew, is that Voldemort did create 7 Horcruxes: He created another Horcrux by mistake when he killed Harry’s parents. A piece of soul was separated from his body and latched onto Harry, making Harry the last Horcrux.

    Horcruxes: How Do They Work

    HARRY POTTER AND THE SEVENTH HORCRUX PDF

    The etymology of the word seems to be this: a combination of hors from the French dehors meaning outside and crux meaning essence. Thus, a Horcrux is a device for keeping your soul outside your body.

    A Horcrux is created by manually putting part of the soul into an object. Firstly, the soul must be split into two, where one part remains in the human body while the other is destined for the Horcrux. This splitting is accomplished by the supreme act of evil, murder, which rips the soul apart.

    Secondly, a powerful spell must be used to gain control over the divided soul to allow the witch or wizard to physically move it into the object they have chosen for the Horcrux.

    Creating a Horcrux is unnatural and immoral. Professor Slughorn notes that the soul is supposed to remain intact and wholesplitting it is an act against nature. Whether this means the creation of a Horcrux is inherently evil is debatable, but it is clearly frowned upon at the very least in the wizarding community, shown particularly by Dumbledores banning of its discussion at Hogwarts.

    Post Deathly Hallows Analysis

    Given what weve learned from Deathly Hallows, there is something new that should be noted about the creation of Horcruxes.

    Indeed, in the event of recklessly committing murder, a wizard can inadvertently create a Horcrux without supplying the necessary incantations.

    The;Harry Potter;saga introduced the concept of horcruxes and the dangers that come when one person decides to create one or many, as Lord Voldemort did. Harry and company ultimately managed to;dstroy all of Voldemorts horcruxes, but one of them broke an interesting pattern. One of the most popular and beloved universes in the realm of sci-fi and fantasy is that of the Wizarding World, created by J.K. Rowling and introduced in her debut novel,;Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. The Wizarding World kept expanding in the subsequent novels and supplementary material, making way for a franchise of books, movies, theme-park attractions, and more.

    The;Harry Potter;saga;tells the story of the boy who lived and his quest to defeat Lord Voldemort, the darkest wizard of all who had some truly dangerous plans for both the Wizarding and Muggle worlds and who had a personal vendetta against Harry, as he failed to the young wizard when he was a baby. What Did Dumbledore Know Of Horcruxes

    Abstract: Hello, dear readers! Let me apologize profusely for my prolonged absence. But I am now back in New York, back to having access to the US paperbacks , and back to writing for you! This essay is the promised follow-up to Dumbledores Decoy, so I recommend reading that one first . Without further ado, grab your butterbeers , and lets talk Potter!

    By the time Harry is let in on the Horcrux hunt in Half-Blood Prince , Dumbledore seems to have everything together. He knows what the Horcruxes are, and how many there are; hes collected all the necessary memories, and its just a matter of telling Harry about it and then destroying them. At first, we do not question this; after all, Dumbledore is presented as almost omniscient throughout the series, so why wouldnt he have all the necessary information already?

    But then, someone has to ask the very pertinent question: if Dumbledore has known all along about the Horcruxes, why did he only start hunting them at the tail end of Order of the Phoenix? He had years and years before that during which he could have hunted Horcruxes unmolested!

    I believe the answer is the most straightforward one: Dumbledore did not know everything about everything, until very recently. So let us explore what Dumbledore knew, and when, and what he did about it.

    Background Of Horcruxes In Harry Potter

    Horcruxes are objects that hold a fragment of a Dark witch or wizards soul. Considered the most terrible of all dark magic, part of the requirements of creating a Horcrux is that it can only be made right after committing murder. This follows an unknown horrific act that only a few people know.

    The purpose of Horcruxes is that when the physical body of a witch or wizard is destroyed, the fragment of their soul inside the Horcrux prevents them from truly dying. As their soul remains, they can find ways to return to life. And since Horcruxes have defensive spells that make it difficult to destroy, a wizard or witchs soul is protected until their enemies find a way to destroy it. So, a wizard interested in obtaining immortality may consider Horcruxes, but at the cost of their soul becoming unstable.

    Around the 1940s, teaching Horcruxes in Hogwarts was already banned, according to Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. However, one book called Secrets of the Darkest Art the only known book with written instructions on how to create and destroy Horcruxes remained in the Restricted Section of the Hogwarts Library. Somehow, student Tom Marvolo Riddle must have found it and read about it, but because the book said nothing about creating multiple Horcruxes, he asked Professor Slughorn for advice. Slughorn would later regret telling Riddle about the possibility of creating multiple Horcruxes and was too ashamed to admit the truth to anyone.

    Arthur Weasley’s Flying Ford Anglia

    Voldemorts Path Of The Horcrux

    Arthur Weasley owned a 1960 Ford Anglia 105E that he subsequently enchanted; consequently, the vehicle can fly, become invisible, and carry the entire Weasley family in spite of its formerly non-enchanted interior dimensions , among other abilities. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the car is borrowed by Fred, George and Ron, who use it to rescue Harry from the Dursleys’ house. Ron and Harry later steal the car in order to return to Hogwarts after the gate to Platform 9¾ is sealed by Dobby. After they arrive at school, landing in the Whomping Willow, the car ejects Harry, Ron, and their luggage, then flees into the Forbidden Forest, ignoring Ron’s pleas for it to come back. Mr Weasley soon faces an inquiry at the Ministry of Magic, as seven Muggles saw the car flying across areas of Central London and the British countryside, and is forced to pay a large fine.

    The 1962 Ford Anglia used in the film was acquired by Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, and is currently displayed in the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. A total of 14 Ford Anglias were destroyed during the filming of the scene where the car crashes into the Whomping Willow.

    A replica of the car in its feral state can be seen in the queue line for the Dragon Challenge roller coaster at the Universal Studios Islands of Adventure theme park. Occasionally it blinks its headlights and honks its horn when its motion detectors sense that guests are standing in front of it or walking by it.

    Could This Harry Potter Horcrux Theory Be True

    This particular Harry Potter theory has intrigued us. It certainly isnt the first wild theory about the Wizarding World, but it presents some seriously compelling evidence and is seemingly supported by both the books and the movies.

    However, we do know that the king Death Eater was obsessed with survival, at any cost. It stands to reason that the horcrux inside Harry would be just as potent as the other seven. Besides, it wasnt like Harry was downing vials of Felix Felicis in his childhood! How else would he so insanely lucky?

    Yet, weve not heard a word about this from JK Rowling, so until she confirms or denies it, its mere fan fiction. Though Rowling has bigger things to worry about these days, so were unlikely to ever get an answer if this one is true.

    What do you think of this Harry Potter theory? Let us know in the comments below.
