What Is The Third Book In The Harry Potter Series

Don't Miss

A Journey Through Series

HARRY POTTER AND THE VIRGINS | Book 3: THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN

As you can already see, there is quite a long list of Harry Potter books. And, were just getting started. And, as mentioned earlier, its not nearly as important to read these Harry Potter additional books in order.

This Harry Potter book series is based on the exhibit at the British Library about Harry Potter.

These books dive into the classes at Hogwarts and give behind-the-scenes information about them.

The first book in the Harry Potter Journey Through series is A History Of Magic: A Journey Through Charms & Defence Against the Dark Arts.

How to become invisible, to make someone fall in love with you, to transform into another creature: these are all things that people have believed in, yearned for, or feared, throughout history.

Spells and charms have captured the imagination for hundreds of years. Warding off evil is also something that has concerned people throughout history.

From werewolves to all manner of snakes in the wizarding world, youd learn how to face a number of strange and frightening forces in Defence Against the Dark Arts classes.

This eBook short examines the colorful characters and curious incidents of the real history of magic, and how they relate to the Hogwarts lesson subjects of Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts.

The third book in the Journey Through series is A History of Magic: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy.

Is It Any Good

J.K. Rowling has sidestepped the usual series-writer trap of sticking so closely to a successful formula that each book is just more of the same. With Harry about to enter adolescence, the series, too, seems to be changing this entry is darker, more complex, and morally more ambiguous than the first two. As he is forced by the Dementors to confront his parents’ deaths directly, Harry — who was always so cool in the earlier books — is more emotionally unstable. Unlike the static characters in other series, Harry is getting older, with all that entails.

Rowling is a master of careful plotting, and the author is rumored to have planned out the whole story of the series in advance, for a total of seven books. In this volume, her planning shows, and the complexity is so great that, at times, it even inspires rereading. Rowling knows her readers, but even as she stretches their intellect, she never loses them.

The Fantastic Beasts Screenplays

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this entire time, you’ve probably heard of the two new Wizarding World movies that have hit Hollywood in the past few years. Led by actor Eddie Redmayne and an all-star ensemble cast, the Fantastic Beasts films tell the story of Newt Scamander, Albus Dumbledore, and the dark battle against Gellert Grindelward in the blackened days before Lord Voldemort entered the scene.

Of course, you can choose to simply watch the continuation of the Wizarding World on-screen but reading the screenplays of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: the Original Screenplay and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald The Original Screenplay will undoubtedly give you that extra level of depth and insight into the characters.

The Making Of Harry Potter

In March 2011, Warner Bros. announced plans to build a tourist attraction in the United Kingdom to showcase the Harry Potter film series. The Making of Harry Potter is a behind-the-scenes walking tour featuring authentic sets, costumes and props from the film series. The attraction is located at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden, where all eight of the Harry Potter films were made. Warner Bros. constructed two new sound stages to house and showcase the famous sets from each of the British-made productions, following a £100 million investment. It opened to the public in March 2012.

Book : Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

This book is a fun romp through the fully established magical world that we all know and love. Rowling doesnt waste any time explaining the concepts she has created and developed up until now. She simply expects us to get it and enjoy the ride through her world. And while this book breaks free of the restraints caused by the predictable school year plot of the previous books, it also is hampered by this fact.

Until now, Rowling had established a bankable formula for her work, revolving around the magical mundanity of life at Hogwarts. Taking her cast of characters away from this setting does not play to her strengths, and it shows in the final book. However, there are some great moments as well, like the sword in the lake, and, of course, The Princes Tale.

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone

It all started in 1997. J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone about a young boy who learns that his parents were wizards, and he is invited to study at the wizarding school of Hogwarts, the same school that trained his parents.

The United States changed the name of the novel to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and introduced the world to Harry and his young friends, as well as the amazing world of wizards at the British school. The book won several awards and sat on top of the New York Times bestseller list for most of 1999 and 2000.

Book : The Prisoner Of Azkaban

Concise, well written, and filled with amazing reversals and a steadily maturing cast of characters, Azkaban is certainly one of if not the best books in the entire series. It has everything we love from the series packed into an easily digestible number of pages.

You could arguably read Azkaban without any of the other books and still really enjoy it. Just about every little detail sewn into this compelling narrative is incredibly memorable, from the blowing up of Aunt Marge, to the Night Bus, and the introduction of the wonderful thing that is Hogsmeade! The third book is without a doubt the most fun and compelling romp through Rowlings world of them all.

She opposed Scottish independence in a 2014 referendum and Brexit during the 2016 referendum to leave the European Union.

What Parents Need To Know

Parents need to know that J.K. Rowling continues her great plotting and pacing, but this book’s edgier themes will appeal more to older kids. For most of the school year, Harry believes he is marked for death and stalked by an escaped prisoner. He also battles a creature of kids’ worst nightmares: the Dementors are black-robed floating beings that suck out happiness and feed on your worst fears, which is why Harry hears the sound of his mother’s last scream when he sees them. While this can be tough for young and sensitive readers, the bright spot is the Boggart lesson in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Boggarts can turn into what a person fears most, but the kids learn to yell “Ridiculous!” and turn it into something to laugh at.
