Harry Potter Movies Ranked
Just like with the Harry Potter books, opinions on which entries in the series are the best are incredibly varied and subjective. Indeed, ranking the Harry Potter movies by their IMDb user scores reveals a remarkable consistency in fan response, with all eight instalments clustered between 7.4 and 8.1 out of 10.
The two Fantastic Beasts movies are noticeably the least loved entries in the Wizarding World, a fact perhaps reflected by the second movie’s drop in box office. The most successful of the two, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, made more money than just one of the Potter movies , but seeing as it had 12 years of inflation on its side, its debatable whether it actually outperformed the earlier film.
Special And Visual Effects
Visual effects took nine months to make, until 9 October 2002, when the film was finished.Industrial Light & Magic, Mill Film, The Moving Picture Company , Cinesite and Framestore CFC handled the approximately 950 visual effect shots in the film. Jim Mitchell and Nick Davis served as visual effects supervisors. They were in charge of creating the CG characters Dobby the House Elf, the Basilisk, and the Cornish pixies, among others. Chas Jarrett from MPC served as CG supervisor, overseeing the approach of any shot that contains CG in the film. With a crew of 70 people, the company produced 251 shots, 244 of which made it to the film, from September 2001 to October 2002.
The visual effects team worked alongside creature effects supervisor Nick Dudman, who devised Fawkes the Phoenix, the Mandrakes, Aragog the Acromantula, and the first 25 feet of the Basilisk. According to Dudman, “Aragog represented a significant challenge to the Creature department.” The giant spider stood 9 feet tall with an 18 feet foot leg span, each of which had to be controlled by a different team member. The whole creature weighed three quarters of a ton. It took over 15 people to operate the animatronic Aragog on set.

From Getting Rejected To The Worlds First Billionaire Author
Can you believe that once J.K. Rowlings books werent not even getting published by any publisher? J.K. Rowlings original Harry Potter pitch was turned down 12 times before getting success. Finally, a small British publisher, Bloomsbury agreed to publish her book. The reason behind this acceptance was that Bloomsbury gave the first chapter to his then 8-year-old daughter, Alice, to read. After reading she demanded the rest of the book straight away. This reason convinced Bloomsbury to publish the book. And now, Unsurprisingly, more than 500 million Harry Potter books have been sold worldwide, making J.K. Rowling the worlds first billionaire author. Moreover, Harry Potter is the best-selling book series in history and has been translated into 80 languages.
The Role Of Albus Dumbledore Wasnt Played By A Single Person
Among our all the Harry Potter facts, this fact is the most surprising one. Lets take a look at it:
A very astonishing fact of this series is that role of Albus Dumbledore was played by two different persons. Yes, it is difficult to believe, but true in reality. Richard Harris portrayed Dumbledore in the first two films i.e. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. After the death of Harris, Dumbledore was portrayed by Michael Gambon till the sixth film of Harry Potter. They were shown in the films in such a way that it was very difficult to differentiate them in the frame of Albus Dumbledore.

James And Oliver Phelps
Best friends Fred and George Weasley were charming scene-stealers whose carefree childhoods and tragic endings tugged at the heartstrings of their devoted fans.
The twin brothers were quite mischievous, but put their prankster ways to good use, opening a gag gift and joke shop at an early age. Sadly, Fred was killed in the final battle at Hogwarts, causing George to name a son after him.
Fifteen years old at the time The Philosopher’s Stone was released, Fred and George actors James and Oliver Phelps are also twins. However, unlike their characters, George was played by Oliver, who is actually 13 minutes older than James, who played the younger Fred.
Now 32 years old, the brothers have gone their separate ways several times on movies, but can be seen together in the TV movie Danny and the Human Zoo and the upcoming film Own Worst Enemy.

Are The Harry Potter Movies On Peacock Or Hbo Max
Wait, didn’t Peacock have the Harry Potter movies? Or was it HBO Max? Yes, both did for a time.
HBO Max streamed the Harry Potter movies when it launched last summer. See, WarnerMedia owns the Harry Potter film franchise. However, the corporation sold the broadcast and cable rights to NBCUniversal, which owns Peacock. But WarnerMedia borrowed them back likely for a hefty fee so that its new streaming service could launch with some big titles.
Then, the Harry Potter movies moved to Peacock, where they will stream on and off through 2021. They may return to HBO Max for a limited run, as well. And then who knows what will happen in 2025, when NBCUniversal’s TV rights lapse.
As writer Jess Mason joked on , “Harry Potter is like the child of a divorce where the parents are Universal and Warner Bros and the franchise just keeps being pulled to different homes.”
So many streaming services, all fighting over the same valuable IP.

Harry Potter Movies In Order Of Chronological Events
Now, here’s where things get slightly tricky. The Fantastic Beasts films are prequels, so they take place decades before the events of the original Harry Potter movies.
Those take place during Harry’s time at Hogwarts, so each book/movie corresponds to a school year. The final two movies split the final book and school year.
Here’s the list of Harry Potter movies and the year in which they are set:
Fantastic Beasts 3 is likely to be set right after the second film in that series and before the events of Sorcerer’s Stone.
And if the Harry Potter stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is made into a movie, it would fall at the end of both the release order and chronological order since it’s set circa 2017.
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
Harry Potter’s third year sees the boy wizard, along with his friends, attending Hogwarts School once again. Professor R. J. Lupin joins the staff as Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, while convicted murderer Sirius Black escapes from Azkaban Prison. The Ministry of Magic entrusts the Dementors of Azkaban to guard Hogwarts from Black. Harry learns more about his past and his connection with the escaped prisoner.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire Real
The activities of Goblet of Fire took place between 1994 and 1995. Filming took place between June 25th, 2004, and a date I cannot recall, but it was a very long film.
We can estimate that post-production took 6 months because that is how long the last one took, so shooting finished in May 2005. On November 6, 2005, it was finally released. This is the first movie in which we see the darker theme. After all, our characters are now in puberty and are showing angst.
The film is the first in the series to be rated PG-13 in the United States and 12A in the United Kingdom. The production began in early 2004. Leavesden Film Studios was used to film the Hogwarts scenes.
Five days after its debut, the film had earned more than US$102 million at the North American box office, making it the third-highest first-weekend haul for a Harry Potter film, behind only Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2.
Goblet of Fire had an enormously profitable box office run, grossing $896 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of 2005 and the sixth-highest-grossing film in the Harry Potter franchise.
What Was Daniel Radcliffes Age In Every Harry Potter Movie Compared To His Character
What was Daniel Radcliffes age in each Harry Potter movie when they came out? The actor started portraying the wizard when he was just a kid. Radcliffe became a household name after playing the titular character in the first film. With such a massive role, fans might wonder how old Radcliffe was in each film, his net worth, and other personal information about the huge movie star.

Costume And Set Design
Production designer Stuart Craig returned for the sequel to design new elements previously not seen in the first film. He designed the Burrow based on Arthur Weasley‘s interest in Muggles, built vertically out of architectural salvage. Mr. Weasley’s flying car was created from a 1962 Ford Anglia 105E. The Chamber of Secrets, measuring over 76 metres long and 36.5 metres wide, was the biggest set created for the saga. Dumbledore’s office, which houses the Sorting Hat and the Sword of Gryffindor, was also built for the film.
Lindy Hemming was the costume designer for Chamber of Secrets. She retained many of the characters’ already established appearances, and chose to focus on the new characters introduced in the sequel. Gilderoy Lockhart’s wardrobe incorporated bright colours, in contrast with the “dark, muted or sombre colours” of the other characters. Branagh said, “We wanted to create a hybrid between a period dandy and someone who looked as if they could fit into Hogwarts.” Hemming also perfected Lucius Malfoy’s costume. One of the original concepts was for him to wear a pinstripe suit, but was changed to furs and a snake head cane in order to remark his aristocrat quality and to reflect a “sense of the old.”
Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone
Harry discovers he is a wizard on the eve of his 11th birthday when a giant named Hagrid comes to take him to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry learns that when he was a baby, the dark and evil wizard Lord Voldemort came into his home and murdered his parents, but was destroyed when trying to kill Harry because the spell he used backfired. Once at Hogwarts, Harry goes on to be sorted into Gryffindor house, becomes best friends with Ron Weasley, the red-headed youngest boy in a house of seven children, and Hermione Granger, the bushy-haired know-it-all, learns a bit of magic, joins the Gryffindor Quidditch team, gets to know his professors, and surprisingly enough makes a few enemies . Harry and his friends suspect that Professor Snape wants to steal the Sorcerers Stone, which has the power to turn the drinker immortal. They try to stop him, to later find out that in fact it was Professor Quirrell and that he was trying to resurrect Lord Voldemort, which was disturbingly incognito under his turban in the back of his head. Harry defeats Quirrell with his love touch, granted by his mothers protection when she sacrificed herself to save him.
