Trauma and tragedy play a role in a lot of childrens literature. But it was J.K. Rowlings series that helped me cope with almost dying.
Like many people who grew up in the 90s and early aughts, my youth was indelibly shaped by J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter seriesby attending midnight-release parties, getting my hands on the latest books, and lining up to watch the new films. To a generation of fans, Harry can sometimes feel more like a childhood companion than a fictional character. Starting in 1997, Rowling followed the boy wizard and his friends through their teenage years, paying as close attention to the mundane as to the magical . But, crucially, the series was unafraid to grow darker and more serious as it wore on. The later books, especially from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix onward, show what its like to carry the weight of awful things they go further than most childrens literature, doubling down on the guilt, fear, violence, and, ultimately, death that the young heroes face.
Revisiting the series is always a joy, but although I tend to speed through the first three books, I instinctively start slowing down at Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I feel a bit of apprehension, knowing what lies ahead. As someone who suffered a traumatic event at a young age it hurts even 10 years later to read the inner thoughts of a teenaged Harry as he starts losing more of his friends and loved ones.

Harry Potter Nearly Killed Hedwig And People Are Only Just Realizing
Harry Potter entering platform nine and three quarters in the first movie of the beloved franchise is one of the most iconic moments in the movies.
But today, Harry Potter fans are losing it over a previously largely unnoticed moment from the scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Cast your memory back to the first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcererâs Stone in 2001, when Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint were introduced to the world as Harry Potter and Ron Weasleythe magical film became beloved by an entire generation with seven more movies to follow.
In the first movie, a young Harry is sent off to Hogwarts, but is stumped when he is told to find platform nine and three quarters at Kingâs Cross station in London.
âBut, Hagrid, there must be a mistake! This says Platform 9 and 3/4. Thereâs no such thing! Is there?â the young wizard asks.
However, he is luckily aided at the station by magical family, the Weasleys, who tell him he has to run at full force through a wall on the platform to access the magical platform to board the Hogwarts Express.
However, in the second film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry and Ron famously miss their chance to get through the portal.
As Harry runs full force at the brick wall with his trolley of luggage, he crashes into it and is sent flying.

What Is The Nature Of The Bond Between Harry And Petunia Dursley
We know that Petunia does not like Harry, and Harry absolutely loathes living at Privet Drive. Yet there must be something that keeps them together. At the beginning of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Vernon Dursley, discovering that Harry is becoming a magnet for trouble that can hurt his family as well as Harry, orders Harry out of his house. Petunia seems to agree with Vernon’s decision, until the Howler reminds her of Dumbledore’s earlier letter, which we must presume was the one left on the Dursley doorstep with Harry at the beginning of the series. At that point, Petunia abruptly rationalizes Harry remaining with them, forcing Vernon to back down. Obviously there is a blood relationship between them, as Lily Potter was Petunia’s sister. Petunia, however, throughout the series, acts as though Harry has been thrust upon them she has not accepted this burden willingly. What is compelling her to keep Harry? And why is Harry required to return to Privet Drive every summer? Granted, it does not have to be for the whole summer â at the beginning of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, for instance, Dumbledore, who obviously is privy to the details of the spells involved, collects Harry from Privet Drive after only a fortnight. What exactly is the nature of the bond that requires Harry to stay with Petunia?

Harry Potters Death In The Play
While you probably know about his death if youve read or watched the final story in the main series, you might not know about his death in the eighth story that was made into a play.
In fact, he does die by Voldemorts hand, just like what happened in the final book and movie, but this time its permanent.
The dark wizard and his forces take control over the world and thats the end of that story.
However, its just an alternate universe that gets accidentally created when Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy time travel to prevent Cedric Diggorys death.
This leads to an unintended consequence of Cedric becoming a death eater himself during the second wizarding war as a response to his humiliation during the Triwizard Tournament.
This prevents Naginis death and lets Voldemort win the war and take control.
Thats unfortunate for the people living in this alternate reality.
Magical Creatures In Harry Potter
Magical creatures are an aspect of the fictional wizarding world contained in the Harry Potter series and connected media, all created by British author J. K. Rowling. Throughout the seven main books of the series, Harry and his friends encounter many of these creatures on their adventures in Hogwarts, the Forbidden Forest, or other locations throughout the Wizarding World. I might not use it, but to make it as consistent as I feel is good for my plot.”

Obviously Dumbledore didnt know Sirius was innocent. Dumbledore was the only person know to be able to use the Fidelius Charm, and its noted to be an extremely diffucult charm. Lily and James couldnt have learn it in the time they had so Dumbledore would have had to perform the charm meaning he know.

What Spell Killed Bellatrix
She is mine!” Bellatrix then started taunting Mrs Weasley over her son’s death, proceeding to laugh at Molly’s enraged response that the Death Eater “will never touch our children again!”. This provided an opening for Molly to strike Bellatrix with a curse that hit her straight in the heart, killing her.

Yes Dumbledore Did Ask Snape To Kill Him So Draco Wouldnt
Dumbledore did indeed ask Snape to kill him, so that Draco wouldnt either succeed and maim his own soul, or more likely fail and be killed by the Dark Lord for his almost inevitable failure.
All the same, try. I am concerned less for myself than for accidental victims of whatever schemes might occur to the boy. Ultimately, of course, there is only one thing to be done if we are to save him from Lord Voldemorts wrath.

Dumbledore didnt want Draco to do it and harm his soul, but he also didnt want to die at the hands of someone who would prolong his death and make it more painful. He preferred that Snape kill him quickly, and since it was done as an act of mercy, Snapes soul would remain intact.
Its clear that Dumbledore did both ask and expect Snape to kill him, and this was always his plan.

So yes, Dumbledore did indeed ask Snape to kill him to spare Draco the Dark Lords wrath or a maimed soul because of Dracos own attempts to kill Dumbledore.
Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
In the fourth novel, Dumbledore introduces the Triwizard Tournament. He also serves as a judge during the entire event. When Harrys name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore is not enraged, but remains calm simply asking Harry whether he had himself, or had asked an older student to submit his name rel=nofollow> film version he does get angry to the point of manhandling Harry). When Harry answers no, he believes him. By the end of the book, Dumbledores fears are realized when Harry returns from his encounter with Voldemort clutching the dead body of Cedric Diggory and when Mad-Eye Moody takes Harry away from Dumbledore and to his office inside the castle. Dumbledore immediately becomes suspicious and heads straight towards Moodys office with Minerva McGonagall and Severus Snape to save Harry and to interrogate Crouch. Afterwards, Dumbledore listens to Harrys eyewitness account about Voldemorts return. Harry though, only wakes up later to find Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge in the hospital wing arguing with McGonagall and Dumbledore about the situation of Voldemorts return and the consequences that would follow should Fudge remain in denial of this fact.

What Happened To Hagrid After The Battle Of Hogwarts
Rubeus Hagrid would go on to teach the Care of Magical Animals at Hogwarts for generations, but he did decide to end his relationship with Headmistress Olympe Maxime.
Hagrid maintained his soft spot for the Potter family and even invited Albus to tea during Albuss first year, just as he had done with young Harry.
In 2019, Hagrid became leader of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force at the age of 91.

Did They Use Real Owls In Harry Potter
Each take took only 6 seconds. Added special effects make it appear as though the bird was flying as high as a Quidditch arena! To ensure safe transport onto the Hogwarts Express and beyond, the owls cages were bolted down to the luggage carts. Some of the owls in the cages were actually fake stuffies.
