Instead of making an Unbreakable Vow, the two made a Blood Oatha new concept for Harry Potter fans. Considering that Dumbledore and Grindelwald do eventually fight, a Blood Oath is presumably breakable, unlike an Unbreakable Vow.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the latest addition to the new J.K Rowling franchise.
Before you get stuck back into the wizarding world, you may be wondering how the movies all relate and whether Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter are linked.
The simple answer is yes.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was based off a book of the same name written by Rowling in 2001.
The book was a textbook that Harry was supposed to have used in the first book, written by Newt Scamander.
Grindelwald And Dumbledore’s Relationship
What’s going on here then? Well J.K Rowling confirmed Dumbledore is gay in a tweet awhile ago, it then followed that he had a relationship with Grindelwald.
The pair had been friends when at school. Grindelwald studied at Durmstrang, you remember that school right? It’s from the fourth book.
They planned to rule as nice leaders together, but that all fell apart. We only hear a bit about the duel in the Harry Potter books.
The duel led to the death of Dumbledore’s sister Ariana. Grindelwald left Britain, stole the Elder Wand and set up base in Europe,
Now in the Fantastic Beasts franchise we slowly learn about what happened in between them falling out.

Is Newt An Animagus
Animagi. Newts animagus form is a Eurasian Red Squirrel, Tinas is a pigeon, Graves is a greying timber wolf and Credences is a Hebridean
Does Newt have a disability? Newt Scamander isnt without a superpower of his own, he is a wizard after all, but his autism, be it Aspergers Syndrome or something else, is not connected to it in any way. The fact that Newts apparent autism isnt remarked on in the film is actually quite fitting for the time period of the film.
Is Newt Scamander related to Hagrid? Really, if Hagrid had been the son of world renowned Magizoologist Newt Scamander, dont you think we wouldve known about it by now? No, on many reasons. Newt married Tina and had a child with her, not a giant and also, Hagrids last name is, well Hagrid, so no, Newt isnt Hagrids dad.
Fantastic Beasts : See Johnny Depp Replaced In The Trailer
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them made its introduction back in 2001 as a guidebook about many of the magical creatures in the Harry Potter universe. The book was written by J. K. Rowling under the pen name of Newt Scamander, the Magizoologist who features prominently in everything Fantastic Beast related.
It took 15 years and the end of the Harry Potter film series to bring it to the big screen and has since seen a sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, with plans for five Fantastic Beast movies in total. Fantastic Beasts 3 started production and we have some magical information to share.

Harry Potter Cast Returns
So what about that Harry Potter connection? Wouldnt it be nice to have those beloved characters somehow make an appearance in Fantastic Beasts 3 5?? Well, look no further as some from the original Harry Potter series will reprise their roles. Just not how youd expect.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard, first introduced in Rowlings last Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is making its way to Audible. Beedle the Bard is a series of five short stories that were intended as bedtime stories for youngsters. The five stories included The Wizard and the Hopping Pot, The Fountain of Fair Fortune, The Warlocks Hairy Heart, Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump and the very popular The Tale of the Three Brothers.
Actor Warwick Davis of Willow fame and the Harry Potter series will lend his chops to The Wizard and the Hopping Pot while Evanna Lynch will narrate The Fountain of Fair Fortune. Jason Isaacs will lend his voice to The Warlocks Hairy Heart and Bonnie Wright, will read Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump.
And finally, Noma Dumezweni will be reading The Tale of the Three Brothers. If her name isnt familiar this is because she was not in the Harry Potter films, she was the original Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway and the West End.
Will The Movie Be Made Into A Book
Um, kind of. Scholastic announced plans to publish the original Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them screenplay. So it won’t be a novel, but it will allows us to read J.K. Rowling’s screenplay in print. The book, which will be available as an ebook and in hardcover, will go on sale on November 18, 2016, the day Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them hits theaters. Scholastic will distribute the book in the U.S. and Canada, while Little, Brown Book Group will distribute it in the United Kingdom. Amazon has the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them screenplay book available to preorder for the Kindle for $12.99.

Wouldn’t: Cornelius Fudge And Seraphina Picquery
Fudge and Picquery are both leaders within The Wizarding World but their leadership styles differ considerably. While neither is particularly competent, one of the main aspects of Fudge’s leadership style is his ability to turn a blind eye. Fudge finds it easier to cover up and deny Voldemort’s return rather than prepare people for the inevitable. Fudge also finds himself manipulated by those around him, like Umbridge.
On the other hand, Picquery has a much more hands-on approach and is far more ruthless it’s unlikely she’d ever turn a blind eye. Picquery would probably become irritated with Fudge’s ineptitude and neither one is likely to compromise on their own views.
Wouldnt: Bellatrix Lestrange And Leta Lestrange
Despite being related , these two women dont share a lot of common ground. Bellatrix Lestrange was Voldemorts best lieutenant she is utterly deranged and most of her decisions stem from an attempt to impress her master. Leta is more independent and loyal and her guilt over her brothers death is a driving force for the character.
Although they were both sorted into the same Hogwarts house, the two characters would more than likely be enemies. Leta tries her best to distance herself from her family whereas Bellatrix embraces the Black and Lestrange family values. If these two ever came face to face, a bitter duel would probably ensue.

What Is Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them About
J.K. Rowling has flipped the script in more ways than one with FantasticBeasts and Where To Find Them, not only in focusing a story on one of the more random characters teased but not actually seen in the Harry Potter universe thus far, but also setting the story across the pond, in New York City, in the 1920s. We know that Fantastic Beasts will take place in 1926, and that Newt Scamander is the central character.
The young magizoologist finds himself in New York City during his travels. He was only supposed to be there for a day, however when his magical case of titular beasts goes missing, and some of them escape, Newt has to stay behind to deal with the situation. The set-up for this story involves No-Maj character Jacob , whose path crosses with Newt’s. We also know that Katherine Waterston’s Tina and Alison Sudol’s Queenie factor into this budding foursome. And we’ll get into more details about the cast in a bit.
Here Are Some Ways This Zany Plot Twist Might Work Though Again Its A Huge Stretch
Its always possible that Aurelius is Albuss half-brother, and that Albuss mother had an affair with someone we dont know about. But here, again, we run into the age issue. If Albuss mother, Kendra Dumbledore, had a baby out of wedlock after her husbands death, the youngest that kid could be in 1927 is 28.
Thats because its well-known that Albuss mother, Kendra Dumbledore, died in 1899 in a tragic accident caused by her daughter Ariana, whose own magic had been difficult to control since the Muggle attack that left her debilitated and indirectly sent her father to prison. Ariana herself, we should note, later also died tragically in a standoff between Albus, their brother, and Grindelwald.
There are some other ways this twist could be finagled: For instance, Credence could actually be 10 years older than he thinks he is by virtue of a lot of handwavey magic. But thats a lot of trouble to go to in order to explain the timeline discrepancy.
Another possibility is that Kendra Dumbledore didnt actually die in the 1899 accident, that she could have somehow faked her own death, and gone on to have another kid. But that assumes shed be willing to leave her children parentless for some as-yet-unknown reason, and also opens up the question of why shed do that, and what eventually happened to her and how, again, Dumbledore and a horde of gossip columnists never uncovered this information before.

The Ministry Of Magic is a vital part of the wizarding community in HarryPotter, and Fantastic Beasts reveals that there are other institutions across the world that serve a similar purpose. The Magical Congress of the United States of America is the US equivalent.
Their power within the international political realms is clear to see and the Ministry of Magic actually gets a nod during some of MACUSA’s global meetings. Matching the UK and US systems respectively, the Ministry has a Prime Minister, MACUSA has a President.

Who Is In Fantastic Beasts 3’s Cast
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore features a number of returning cast members, as well as some new additions. The cast for the movie includes Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, , William Nadylam, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Jessica Williams, Victoria Yeates, and Jude Law.

Obscurus Books: Fantastic Beasts
There is another subtle link to Harry Potter, fantastic beasts and where to find them. Obscurus Books was called the publishing firm behind the publication of the textbook.
This is a clear reference to the Obscurials significant position in the Fantastic Beasts series.
Whats most intriguing about this is that Obscurus Books has been the publisher of the textbook. Since JK Rowling released Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 2001.
Provided Newts run-in with an Obscurus and the companys formation. This would have given fans an early indication of when Fantastic Beasts took place in the Wizarding timeline.

But He Lives And Makes A Dramatic Return
While American wizards, unlike British ones, use the death penalty, Grindelwald makes it to future installments of the series.
Grindelwald breaks out of his prison and remains at large in Crimes of Grindelwald.”
In the series, we’ll likely find out how he evades capture and increases his power over the wizarding world.
Rowling herself said the series’ five movies will span “19 years,” meaning it will end in 1945, the same year Dumbledore dueled Grindelwald.
So the rest of the “Fantastic Beasts” movies will take place just as Grindelwald is rising to power, and may end in a Dumbledore-Grindelwald showdown.
In the first movie, we also briefly meet Hector Fawley, the Minister for Magic from Britain, who recognizes Scamander. On Pottermore, Rowling tells us that Fawley “did not take sufficiently seriously the threat presented to the world wizarding community by Gellert Grindelwald,” and lost his job in 1939 to Leonard Spencer Moon, who “enjoyed a good working relationship with Winston Churchill.”

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets
The franchises second instalment certainly has its standout moments it introduces both all-time legend Dobby into the game and lets Kenneth Branagh steals scene after scene as the vainglorious Gilderoy Lockhart. However, its bloated 161-minute runtime can make it tough work.
Director Chris Columbus returned with as much enthusiasm as he expressed in The Philosophers Stone, delivering thrills in Aragog, the basilisk, the petrifications, the Whomping Willow, and the Quidditch matches. That isnt enough, regrettably, to fully distract from its rather dry narrative, which delivers endless plot twists about the dark history of Hogwarts and the truth behind Tom Riddles diary.
Another of the adolescent-stage films of the franchise, The Half-Blood Prince could just as easily have fallen prey to The Order of the Phoenixs tonal awkwardness, but theres a much keener sense of the wider stakes here Severus Snape s machinations make for particularly gripping viewing, culminating in a face-off that still has the propensity to shock years later.
Whats crucial, however, is the sense of balance thats also brought to this film, as the students of Hogwarts find moments for the old magic: a Butterbeer shared with friends, or a game of Quidditch. Professor Slughorn provides a light sense of comic relief, alongside the now-infamous Hermiones got nice skin moment between Ron and Harry.
What About The Textbook
Newt writes about his journey across five continents discovery new species – 85 magical species to be exact.
The textbook is available to read, but doesn’t relate directly to the movie – it provided the idea though.
Due to the books format, Warner Brothers had to come up with a way to bring it to life.
Rowling went back to the drawing board and fleshed out the characters she had already mentioned in the Potter universe.
The result was an original storyline – as well as the connection to the Harry Potter books and movies.

Daniel Radcliffe To Return As Harry Potter
We have gotten one indication that Radcliffe might be softening on his stance to avoid any further involvement with Harry Potter. The entertainment news website We Got This Covered claims that Dan Radcliffe has spoken to Warner Bros. about returning as Harry, but with one stipulation: Hell only do it if JK Rowling isnt involved.
JK Rowling has recently begun expressing views which some activists view as being anti-trans, and Radcliff published a statement condemning her opinions . At this point, its not a surprise that the leader of the Harry Potter cast want any further involvement with JK Rowling. Attaching yourself to something JK Rowling is involved in, is now a sure way to subject yourself to outrage and protests.
