Harry Having No Other Living Family Besides The Dursleys
Harry Potter is one of the most tragic characters in all modern fiction. His parents were eliminated by Voldemort, half of the school perishes for him and he has to spend his young life living with his last living blood relatives, the Dursleys. Good ol’ Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon take him in quite begrudgingly, treating him like dirt due to his unknown magical origins, while spoiling their son Dudley until his head is as big as a Whomping Willow. Enduring years and years of sleeping in a cupboard under the stairs would do a lot to someone, but surprisingly Harry turned out alright when his letter to Hogwarts came. However, did he really have to endure all that abuse? In a family as big as the Potters, were there really no others that could take him in?
Seriously, there was no distant relative that Harry could have stayed with? Not even a cousin Bob?;
According to Pottermore, Harrys ancestors were all only children, but there is no mention of cousins or other branches of the family that could be accounted for. With a family as large and vibrant as the Potters, its hard to believe that the only one even blood related was Harrys moms sister. If he had just one cousin or great aunt or another family member of some sort out there, then he could have grown up without the horrible experience of living with the Dursleys. He also might not have turned out to be such a compassionate and caring character, if he had not endured those hardships so, maybe it was for the best.

Establishing a totalitarianpolice state, he has Muggle-borns persecuted and arrested for “stealing magic” from the “pure blood” wizards. After failing to kill Harry with Draco’s father Lucius Malfoy‘s borrowed wand , he goes on a murderous search for the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand ever created, seeing it as the weapon he needs to overcome Harry’s wand and make him truly invincible. He goes on a quest that takes him out of the country to Gregorovitch‘s wand shop, where he kills the old wandmaker. His journey also takes him to Nurmengard, the prison where Gellert Grindelwald is kept, and he kills Grindelwald as well. He finally locates the Elder Wand and steals it from Dumbledore’s tomb.
Rowling stated that after his death, Voldemort is forced to exist in the stunted infant-like form that Harry sees in the King’s Cross-like Limbo after his confrontation with Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest. Rowling also mentioned that, despite his extreme fear of death, he cannot become a ghost.

The author shared the news in a new post on her website.
JK Rowling Teases Release of ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ Script
— J.K. Rowling just released a new detail that could shake up the entire Harry Potter universe.
In a post on her Pottermore website titled “The Potter Family,” the best-selling author revealed that there are two people known as Harry Potter in the wizarding world.
Before you go scratching your head, let Rowling, 51, break it down.
On her website, she writes, the Harry Potter we know is named after his great-grandfather “Henry Potter , who was a direct descendant of Hardwin and Iolanthe, and served on the Wizengamot from 19131921.”
According to Rowling, the elder Harry “publicly condemned thenMinister for Magic Archer Evermonde, who had forbidden the magical community to help Muggles waging the First World War. His outspokenness on the behalf of the Muggle community was also a strong contributing factor in the family’s exclusion from the ‘Sacred Twenty-Eight.'”
In Rowling’s wizarding world, the Sacred Twenty-Eight is a list of families considered pure-blood wizards in the 1930s. Muggles are ordinary, nonmagical people.
The elder Harry Potter is the father of Fleamont Potter, whose son, James Potter, went on to marry Lily Evans, a muggle-born witch. The couple’s son is the second Harry Potter, the bespectacled wizard Rowling’s fans have grown to know and love.
Harry Having A Desk Job Despite Having A Fortune
Like mentioned before, life is hard for Harry Potter. It doesnt get much easier after he leaves Hogwarts either as he takes up a desk job working for the Ministry of Magic and becoming a father of three. This puts extra strain on Harry, who already has to deal with his son Albus problems at Hogwarts. The problem is, Harry is Rich! From the very first book, we see him finding his family vault at;Gringotts filled to the brim with seemingly endless amounts of bronze knuts, silver sickles and gold galleons. He inherited this vast fortune from his parents, who in turn received it from their ancestors, with Fleamont increasing the fortune by bounds.
Harry is trying to save up for a good retirement plan, don’t judge him.;
So if Harry has a fortune, theres really no reason for him to work, or to take on a desk job at least. Other members of the family worked to increase the fortune, but all Harrys job would do is help the family get by. Its possible that working at the Ministry of Magic is perhaps a job he was offered due to his history, or he could want to work there to try and keep them from being corrupted as they were back when he encountered them. Still, with a fortune that big, he could at least do something more fun like becoming a professor at Hogwarts or something. Think outside the box Harry.

Henry Potters Lack Of A Spouse
The Potter family goes back for generations. They are an adventurous lot but did not come to the attention of wizard history until James Potter was born. Until then the family lived a quiet life in the background. Their name came from an occupational surname, Potter is common with non-magical folk, known as muggles. Throughout their history, the Potter family has been known to marry outside of the wizarding world, which, considering a lot of them come from non-magical families, is not a surprise. This is a very big reason that the family was not included in the Sacred Twenty-Eight list of pure-blood families. Another reason was Henry Potters outspoken support of the muggle community. He publicly condemned the then Minister of Magic and kept his family name from making the list. Known by his mates as Henry Harry Potter, he is Harrys great grandfather and a key role in the early Potter story.

James Exiting Voldemort’s Wand First
The end of The Goblet of Fire was incredibly intense. It featured Harry falling into a trap set by his arch nemesis Voldemort, who further captures the young boy and uses him to return to his former power. After killing Cedric Diggory, Voldy challenges Harry to a duel in an attempt to humiliate him. This doesn’t quite work out in the way Voldemort had hoped. Due to both of their wands having the same core, they are referred to as brother wands. When two brother wands go head to head, they create a reverse spell effect known as Priori Incantatem. This causes the spells cast by one of the wands to release a shadow of spells it had recently cast, starting with the most recent spell first. To put it in simpler terms, when these two wands match, all of the spells are released as shadows in reverse order. Obviously, Voldemort had been doing a lot of life taking before his defeat, so his duel with Harry resulted in his most recent victims rising from his wand.

What Happened To His Family
Speaking of Harry Potter’s family, another question that is never addressed is what happens to his entire family, such as his grandparents for instance. They are never mentioned or talked about, which is surprising considering that he is from such a famous wizarding family.
While it is clear that they must have passed away due to the fact Dumbeldore leaves Harry with the Dursley’s instead, so this could be why the movies never address the situation.
However, it would be nice if even in a callback clip, the movie addressed just what happened to all of his grandparents and whether or not Voldermort had anything to do with their deaths.
Quidditch Talent Isn’t Exactly In The Potter Blood
With James Potter being a star Chaser for the Gryffindor Quidditch team during his time at Hogwarts and Harry being the youngest Seeker in a century and exceptionally talented at the position, it seems like Quidditch talent is in the Potter blood. During Albus Severus’ first flying lesson, he failed to demonstrate any of his father or grandfather’s flying skills. His peers then nicknamed him the “Slytherin Squib.”

As the cloak was handed down from Ignotus Peverell through his wizarding line over the years, the family accumulated money, which was handed down to James as an only child and then Harry as an only child.

To someone’s earlier answer about how he didn’t buy his Firebolt, the only reason he didn’t was that he didn’t want to waste a big chunk of the money he would need to get through five more years at Hogwarts.
The money he was left from his parents came from his dad’s side of the family, for they were really wealthy. When Sirius died he left Harry all of his possessions, including his own great wealth from being the sole heir to the Black family fortune.
Sirius bought Harry the Firebolt as a present to make up for the missing 13 birthdays. It also had a more significant meaning behind it because for Harry’s 1st birthday Sirius had bought him a little toy broomstick for wizard kids to hover around on.

Sirius Black Giving Up His Spot As The Potter’s Secret Keeper
As we mentioned earlier, a secret keeper is someone who holds the spell casters secret and can only give the information voluntarily. It cannot be tortured, forced or taken from the keeper. When Voldemort targeted James and Lily as his next victims, they entrusted Peter Pettigrew with their secret. A move which turned out to be a grave mistake. It was a mistake that wouldnt have been made if they had gone with their previous choice, Sirius Black. A few volunteered to be a secret keeper for the Potters, including Dumbledore himself, but James initially went with Sirius Black because he believed that Black would rather die than betray them. As James was incredibly confident with his choice, there had to be some serious discussion to convince him otherwise.
Trust Pettigrew, he said. Lupin is the real enemy, he said.;
Black believed there to be a spy somewhere along the ranks, with Remus Lupin being his suspicion. He convinced James to switch the keeper to Pettigrew because Voldemort wouldnt suspect it and doomed the Potters. There was no reason to though. Everyone knew that Black would have more than happily sacrificed himself for his friends. If he died knowing the secret, then it would have just been passed to the Potters. Instead, Black;trusted Pettigrew and made a mistake he would regret for the rest of his life.

Lily Was More Like Hermione Than Harry
Harry was told several times throughout Rowling’s series that he had his mother’s eyes and looked just like his father, but when it came to the Boy Who Lived’s personality, he wasn’t actually all that similar to his parents.
In fact, Hermione was far more like Lily Potter, as they were both Muggle-born young women who took their studies very seriously, refused to tolerate the mistreatment of others, and didn’t initially appreciate the childish sense of humor of their future partners.

Harry’s Youngest Son Was A Slytherin
Harry Potter’s name is practically synonymous with Gryffindor House, and while almost all of the Potters throughout history were Gryffindors during their time at Hogwarts, that tradition changed when Albus Severus got Sorted.
Albus went into the Sorting Ceremony worried that he’d be named a Slytherin, and that’s exactly what happened. Harry told his son he was still proud of him, though, since Severus Snape was a Slytherin and Snape was one of the bravest men he knew.
Harrys Eye Color Is Different From His Mom
This one is more;of an inconsistency;in the movies than the books. Its something that has long since had fans irritated, while not;making;;any sense. In the books, Harry is described as having a thin face, messy black hair and bright green eyes. Throughout the different entries in the series, characters often comment on how Harry has the exact same eyes as his mother. A trait which is normal for a son to have picked up from his mother. Once the movies came around and the role of Harry Potter was given to Daniel Radcliffe, the crew realized one difference. He had blue eyes instead of green. Well, no biggie, right? He can just wear green colored contacts to match with the characters origins. Nope!

It Wasn’t Love At First Sight For Harry’s Parents
It may seem hard to believe since James and Lily are always smiling, holding each other and dancing together in old pictures and memories, but the couple didn’t actually get along when they first met.

Lily And James Foolishly Trusted The Wrong Marauder
There’s no denying that after Voldemort himself, Peter Pettigrew is the individual most responsible for Lily and James Potter’s tragic and early demise. Peter was one of James’ closest friends at Hogwarts, so James;made him the Secret Keeper entrusted with the couple’s secret location when they went into hiding to avoid the Dark Lord.
It really didn’t make any sense that the Potters put their lives into Wormtail’s hands. He was clearly very weak-minded and easily corrupted by Voldemort. They’d have been better off trusting the other Marauders.
