1. Harry and Draco were totally a thing. While playing “Fact or Fanfiction” with AOL, Tom Felton revealed that Harry might have had a thing for Draco. “I think it was clearly a fact,” he told AOL. “Harry was constantly crushing on Draco. He just couldnt hide it.” So for all you Drarry shippers, looks like you’ve been right all along.

2. The kids in the cast had to get casts of their teeth made. Daniel Radcliffe revealed in a new interview, that the younger kids had to get casts of their teeth made so they could get a fake tooth put in case they lost one while shooting. “‘Cause you’ve got a set full of twenty 10-year-olds… they would cast everyone’s mouths.”

3. Emma Watson might not have gotten the role of Hermione had it been up to her. The casting team held auditions at elementary schools all across Britain to find their Hermione, but when they got to Emma’s school, she had no desire to audition . It was Emma’s teacher who convinced her to audition, and she ended up being the last girl that day. To think she got the role after that!

4. The scenes at 4 Privet Drive were originally shot on an actual street with real houses. They shot in a real house in a community called Picket Post Close. But they ended up having to build identical model houses because they didn’t have access to the house for reshoots.

Fleur Delacour Clmence Posy

Poésys first Harry Potter appearance was midway through the franchise, with Goblet of Fire. She wasnt seen again until Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and Part 2, for her wedding to Bill Weasley and Dobbys funeral at Shell Cottage. After Potter, Poésy has had consistent work, namely a lead role on The Tunnel for 3 seasons. Shes also set to star in Christopher Nolans new film, Tenet, set for release summer 2020.

Alastor Moody Brendan Gleeson

Gleeson has mostly stayed out of the big spotlight since Mad-Eye Moodys death in Deathly Hallows: Part 1, but hes been consistently busy, with multiple acting projects a year. Some of those projects include starring alongside one of his sons , Domhnall Gleeson in Calvary, and more widely released films such as Edge of Tomorrow, In the Heart of the Sea, and Paddington 2. Nymphadora Tonks Natalia Tena

Tonks may have been sidelined in the Harry Potter films more than we would have liked, but Natalia Tena did a wonderful job with what she had. Her talents did not go to waste, as she moved on to star in another hugely popular fantasy series, Game of Thrones. Tena also co-starred in Origins alongside a fellow Harry Potter cast member, Tom Felton. Unfortunately, Youtube did not pick up the show for a second season. Most recently she joined yet another massive franchise, having appeared in an episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+.

Price Wars And Other Controversies

Asda, along with several other UK supermarkets, having already taken pre-orders for the book at a heavily discounted price, sparked a price war two days before the books launch by announcing they would sell it for just £5 a copy. Other retail chains then also offered the book at discounted prices. At these prices the book became a loss leader. This caused uproar from traditional UK booksellers who argued they had no hope of competing in those conditions. Independent shops protested loudest, but even Waterstones, the UKs largest dedicated chain bookstore, could not compete with the supermarket price. Some small bookstores hit back by buying their stock from the supermarkets rather than their wholesalers. Asda attempted to counter this by imposing a limit of two copies per customer to prevent bulk purchases. Philip Wicks, a spokesman for the UK Booksellers Association, said, It is a war we cant even participate in. We think its a crying shame that the supermarkets have decided to treat it as a loss-leader, like a can of baked beans. Michael Norris, an analyst at Simba Information, said: You are not only lowering the price of the book. At this point, you are lowering the value of reading.

Why Sir Ian Mckellen Turned Down The Role Of Dumbledore In Harry Potter

There is a part of me that always assumed Sir Ian McKellen;took over the role of Dumbledore in the;Harry Potter movies following the death of Richard Harris, who played the Hogwarts headmaster in the first two films. Of course, McKellen didnt take over the role went to Michael Gambon but it just makes sense, doesnt it? Hes a wizard at playing wizards, after all. The 82-year old grew his fanbase by a million-fold when he joined The;Lord of the Rings films as Gandalf back in the early 2000s. He had the perfect look for this sort of role, so you probably wont be surprised to learn that he was indeed approached to play Dumbledore after Harris passed away.

Why didnt he accept? Theres an interesting story behind that. In an interview with the;BBC, McKellen said that there was some drama with the late Harris that prevented him from playing Harrys mentor.

Drama, you say?

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

Dumbledore vs. Dumbledore

Rowling used several chapters in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to reveal two major details concerning Dumbledore: his early life and his death. The book introduces his parents, Percival and Kendra Dumbledore, as well as his little sister, Ariana; his brother, Aberforth Dumbledore, was mentioned in previous books. At six years old, Ariana was attacked by three Muggle boys who had witnessed her performing magic. Because of this attack, Ariana was seriously traumatised and never able to control her magic again. Enraged, Percival attacked the Muggle boys , and was given a life sentence in Azkaban. After this, Kendra moved her family to the village of Godric’s Hollow. In one of her outbursts, Ariana accidentally killed Kendra at around the time that Albus completed his education. Albus became the head of the family and was forced to remain in his house with his sister while Aberforth completed his education.

Harry Potter

Decades later, in 1945, Dumbledore finally defeated the now-Dark wizard Grindelwald, who had come to possess the Elder Wand. Grindelwald’s defeat made Dumbledore the master of the Elder Wand, which remained his until just before his death, when Draco used the Disarming Charm on him.

Dumbledore had another Hallow in his keeping since the death of James Potter: the Invisibility Cloak, which he had borrowed to examine. When James died, Dumbledore kept the cloak and decided to pass it on to Harry, James’ son.

Richard Harris The First Man Behind Harry Potter’s Dumbledore Died In 2002

The wizarding world of Harry Potter would not be nearly the place it is without Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts. He guides Harry throughout his time at the school and beyond in his fight against Voldemort, and he delivers some of the best one-liners. The actor who originally filled the role in the first two Harry Potter films, Richard Harris, died after fighting an aggressive form of Hodgkin’s disease, and, as noted by Entertainment Weekly, had a fighting spirit that was hard to come by.;

Chris Columbus, the director behind the first two Harry Potter films, said in a press conference just hours before Harris died that the actor had every intention of coming back to set as Dumbledore that despite his illness, he was ready to bring the wizarding professor back to life. “He did threaten to kill me if I recast ,” Columbus said during the press conference. “I cannot even repeat what he said. He still has got that fight inside of him.”

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was the last film that Harris appeared in as Dumbledore. He was later replaced by actor Michael Gambon.

Harry Potter And The Half

In the sixth book, Dumbledore fetches Harry from Privet Drive and takes him to persuade Horace Slughorn to rejoin the Hogwarts staff. Harry notices that Dumbledore’s right hand is shrivelled and black. During the school year, Dumbledore teaches Harry of events in Voldemort’s past that he feels are of immense importance. Using the Pensieve, they visit the memories of others, which contain important information about Voldemort’s life and his genocidal rise to power. While using the pensieve, Harry sees a vision of Dumbledore’s first encounter with the young Tom Riddle; Dumbledore had known from the beginning that the boy was dangerous, but believed that Hogwarts would change him.

It is learned that Voldemort created six Horcruxes to gain immortality and that they must all be destroyed before Harry goes after the final piece of Voldemort’s soul in the Dark Lord’s body. Harry also repeatedly warns Dumbledore in most of their lessons that school bully Draco Malfoy is working for Voldemort. Dumbledore refuses to take any action against Draco, and instead tells Harry that he already knows more about what is happening than Harry does.

Harry Potter: How Old Dumbledore Is When He Dies

Albus Dumbledore was killed in the Harry Potter series, and Fantastic Beasts 2 introduced his younger self. Heres how old he is in both movies.

Albus Dumbledore was introduced in the Harry Potter series, where readers also witnessed his death in the sixth novel, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Fans reunited with him years later in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, although with his younger self so, how old is he in Fantastic Beasts and when he dies in Harry Potter? Albus Dumbledore made his first appearance in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, where he left baby Harry Potter with his uncle and aunt, the Dursleys. Once Harry started attending Hogwarts, he immediately bonded with Dumbledore, who served as his mentor through his school years.

Dumbledore did what he could to keep Harry safe in Hogwarts, especially after Voldemort and the Death Eaters rose again, and was on a hunt to find and destroy all of Voldemorts horcruxes. Dumbledore was also the only wizard that Voldemort feared, so the dark wizard had to come up with a plan to defeat him and take the Elder Wand, which would have granted him greater power. Voldemort ordered Draco Malfoy to kill Dumbledore, which he knew from the beginning, but never did anything to stop him nor did he expel him in order to protect him from Voldemort. Draco was unable to kill him, so Snape did it, though it was all part of a plan between him and Dumbledore.
