When Voldemort And Nagini Met
At this point, little is factually known of Nagini’s past between the Fantastic Beasts series and her first appearance in The Goblet of Fire. Since the series still has three more films to release, more concrete answers are sure to come. For the time being, fans must speculate as to how the pair met and became so close.

The books mention that after his defeat in Godric’s Hollow and at the end of The Sorcerer’s Stone, Voldemort retreated to the forests of Albania. At this point, it is safe to assume that Nagini and Voldemort met after this. The astral form of the Dark Lord was said to have embodied animals during his time in the forests. Few creatures could bear the possession apart from snakes. Because of their intimate psychic relationship, Nagini and Voldemort most likely met during this time.

In as much as the Harry Potter books and movies cover many mythological themes, the basilisk has its own place in the story. The most memorable scene from the movieHarry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is when though fatally poisoned by the basilisk snake, Harry manages to use the basilisk fang to stab Tom Riddles diary. Also called the Serpent of Slytherin, the female basilisk the young magician encounters, offers her devotion to the Heir of Slytherin. That means the basilisk snake is the symbol of the House of Slytherin magicians. Thus, all their bedrooms at Hogwarts have green decor, the snakes color.

When Draco and Astoria Greengrass‘ son Scorpius Malfoy finds himself in an alternate timeline in which Voldemort won the Battle of Hogwarts, killed Harry and his allies and instituted a terrible reign of terror, he desperately searches for help in restoring history to its original course. He finds that in this reality Snape is still alive and still teaches at Hogwarts, and asks for his help. At first Snape is suspicious of him, since this timeline’s version of Scorpius is a bully and a Voldemort stalwart. But when Scorpius shows that he knows of Snape having been in love with Lily, Harry’s mother Snape’s most closely guarded secret Snape becomes convinced that he does indeed come from a different timeline where Harry and his friends won. Snape then reveals that he, together with the fugitive Ron and Hermione Granger, maintain the last remnants of Dumbledore’s Army still waging hopeless resistance against the all-powerful Voldemort. In talking with Scorpius, Snape had learned that Harry would name his son “Albus Severus” and would regard Snape as “probably the bravest man I ever knew” and is deeply moved. Though having guessed that in the other timeline he would die, Snape nevertheless willingly helps Scorpius recreate this timeline and being discovered by Dementors, Snape sacrifices himself in order to cover Scorpius’ escape.

In dreaming up the hallowed halls of Hogwarts, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling almost certainly drew inspiration from snakes to name the character of Salazar Slytherin, one of the magical schools four founders and the eponym of Slytherin house.
Now, the tables have turned, with scientists in India lending the fictional name to a new species of snake: Trimeresurus salazar, or Salazars pit viper, reports Rahul Karmakar for The Hindu.
The newest member of the genus Trimeresurus Lacépède, which includes at least 48 species of pit viper distributed across east and southeast Asia, the snake is the fifth reptile discovered by scientists in Indias northern state of Arunachal Pradesh in the past year or so, joining three other snakes and a tortoise also native to the region. A paper published in the April issue of Zoosystematics and Evolution describes the find, made by a team of researchers led by Zeeshan Mirza, a biologist at Indias National Centre for Biological Sciences.

Nagini’s Venom Holds Magical Properties
More on this later, but Nagini has anatomical powers that do not seem natural whatsoever. Looking past the fact that she is a Maledictus, a Horcrux, and a psychic vessel for the dark lord, her venom appears to be of great importance. In service to his master, Wormtail must milk Nagini for her venom as it sustains Voldemort’s withering life force.

Now, venom is not traditionally the healthiest nutritional substitute. As mentioned in the books, when Nagini bites Arthur Weasley, her venom causes his wounds to bleed profusely and take longer to heal. Somehow her toxin kept a decaying Voldemort healthy in the same way Unicorn Blood did. Perhaps it speaks more to how far gone Voldemort was, but it also could show that Nagini’s snake form held more than just traditional poison.
Rowling Knew Nagini’s True Identity For Years
The revelation that Nagini had once been a human was one that shocked many. Out of nowhere, a whole new history was created for a character who many previously had given little thought towards. She was just a snake, after all. According to J. K. Rowling herself, she had created the idea of the Maledictus and Nagini’s real identity years previously.

The ability to speak to snakes in their own language, Parseltongue, is a gift shared by few in the wizarding world. Stigmatized thanks in part to dark wizards, it is an ability that most shun. Harry is the only decent person in the series to have this power, as the rest of the Parselmouths are believed to be evil. Nagini though, previous to her final transformation, could speak to snakes in the same way.

Since the reveal in Fantastic Beasts, audiences now know that Nagini was once a human. As a Maledictus, she could turn in and out of her snake form similar to an Animagus. Here being a Maledictus gave her the same ability as other Parselmouths. Like Voldemort and Harry, Nagini could speak to other snakes. This ability is sure to play a significant role in the future of the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
Nagini Assisted With Many Of Lord Voldemorts Murders
Lord Voldemort usually sent or possessed Nagini to do his bidding, and many key characters suffered by her. As mentioned, the snake very nearly killed Arthur Weasley, who had to spend Christmas at St Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, as Naginis venom kept his wounds from healing. She was certainly no ordinary snake.
While Arthur lived to tell the tale, others were not so lucky. Lord Voldemort callously fed Muggle Studies teacher Charity Burbage to Nagini after performing the Killing Curse. Sometimes Voldemort simply let Nagini do the dirty deed herself. The most famous example of this is Severus Snape. Why Did Nagini Turn Evil
Nonetheless, despite her initially benevolent nature, Naginis blood curse eventually turned her into a snake permanetly. Though it is unknown if she became evil as a result of that, or was turned evil as a result of Voldemort turning her into a Horcrux. As a snake, Nagini was completely loyal to Lord Voldemort.

- 1So, I did some looking around and there are some species of snakes who are poisonous that are also known to sometimes constrict. Lachesis muta muta is a species of pit viper found in Central America that has been known to grow up to 12 feet long, but I have only found one reference for this particular species constricting its prey. However, this particular genus is nocturnal and doesn’t interact with humans very frequently so it could be that it hasn’t been observed constricting by very many people.;Meg CoatesApr 10 ’12 at 13:48

How Is Salazars Pit Viper Different From Other Pit Vipers
Pit vipers look quite similar to each other, which is why new species get missed. Almost all of them are vivid green in colour and show similar features.
Researchers note that T. salazar is very similar to T. septentrionalis, T. insularis, and T. albolabris. But certain key differences pop up when looked at closely.
Apart from the vivid orange stripe on the head of the males of this newly discovered snake, the number of teeth and the hemipenis shape are also different.
After analysing the snakes DNA, the researchers confirmed that this was indeed a new species of pit vipers.

In 2012, then-17-year-old student Frances Harvey , including Aname aragog, named for a giant spider who lurks with his brood of hungry children and grandchildren in the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Aragog tries to freed Harry Potter and his friend Ronald Weasley to his ravenous brood in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the second book in the series.
Harry was just 12 in that book, and Frances Harvey was only a few years older when she did the genetic analysis to identify the new species. She was just 15 when she completed the four-month-long project she was a Grade 9 student in Australia, which is apparently the equivalent of a Hogwarts 5th-year student. Two other Aname species are named for Harveys mother Mara and her younger sister Ellen.
Another spider joined the Potterverse in 2016, when arachnologist Javed Ahmed and his colleagues discovered an oddly-shaped spider in western India. They named it Eriovixi gryffindori, for the fictional owner of the Sorting Hat, a talking and unnervingly insightful hat which assigns young wizarding students to their school Houses. If you look closely, the spider bears an uncanny resemblance to the wizards hat, but it so far hasnt started talking.
And speaking of secrets, one of the Harry Potter series most secretive characters, Severus Snape, lent his name in 2017 to a crab species called Harryplax severus, which lives amid coral rubble on the shores of Guam.
Vasilisc Or The Romanian Version

The serpentine basilisk, or the King of serpents, is not the only version of this type of monster. The cockatrice became synonymous with the basilisk due to a translation of Bartholomeus AnglicusDe Proprietatibus Rerum;written in 1260. The 1397 adaptation by John Trevis replaced the medieval word Basiliscus with Cockatrice. It is depicted as a lizard with wings and a rooster head, while the basilisk appears in etchings without wings. The Romanian vasilisc takes the first form. As a Romanian folklore creature, the vasilisc comes into being in a famous 1970s poem. The legendary Phoenix folk rock band later transformed it into a song.
As opposed to other basilisk monster legends the Romanian ones mention only one way to combat its deadly appearance: by placing a mirror in front of it. Also, the vasilisc posses a toxic breathe that can kill instantly. The Romanian mythological bestiary focuses on domesticated animals. Sometimes strange exotic animals like the giraffe or the lion are associated with fantastic creatures. The Inorog , the Calandrion bird , and the Dulf are all whimsical characters depicted in Romanian legends and folklore. Although originating in Ancient Greece and revived during the Early Middle Ages, the vasilisc still is an exotic monstrosity in the Romanian folklore. For the rest of Europe, especially Western Europe, the basilisk is just a traditional aberrant monster.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
In the fifth novel, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Snape returns to a more prominent role. With Voldemort having returned to a fully corporeal body, Snape continues working as a re-doubled agent for Dumbledore. He is seen prior to the start of school at Number 12, Grimmauld Place giving reports to the Order of the Phoenix. He has a very strained relationship with Sirius, who owns Grimmauld Place and must remain there in hiding. The two trade frequent snide remarks and at one point almost begin a duel. Snape taunts Sirius about the latter’s not being able to take an active role in the Order’s missions because of his fugitive status. Harry feels later that this taunting contributed to Sirius’ willingness to take unsafe risks. Back at school, Snape’s allegiance to the Order has no effect on his dislike for Harry.
Later in the book, Dumbledore has Snape teach Harry Occlumency, the protection of the mind from outside intrusion or influence. The sessions are made difficult by their mutual hostility and end prematurely when Harry uses Dumbledore’s Pensieve to view one of Snape’s worst childhood memories without the latter’s permission. He sees the memory of Snape being bullied by James and Sirius, and of calling Harry’s mother Lily a Mudblood . Only in the final book is it revealed that, prior to this confrontation, Snape and Lily had been close friends.
