Rowlings controversial Twitter posts and 3,800-word essay about the transgender community have attracted extensive backlash from Harry Potter fans, with Wizarding World stars including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Eddie Redmayne publicly distancing themselves from the .; Johnny Depp was involved in a libel case that made lots of unsavory allegations about his private life and was later kicked from the movie.
Meanwhile, the casting of Korean actress Claudia Kim as Nagini was considered by many to be racially insensitive , and many are upset that Dumbledores much-talked-about romantic relationship with Grindelwald has been invisible on-screen. The franchise has turned into something of a magnet for negative headlines.

The entire graveyard scene is eerie and wonderfully sickening with the death of Cedric, the look of Ralph Fiennes’ Voldemort, and the collection of Death Eaters. It is an incredible watch, and the images of Harry’s parents, as well as the commotion and emotion that ensue upon Harry’s return to Hogwarts, is the cherry on the cake.

Quickly, our hero is tested when he learns that dark forces reside in Hogwarts trying to bring back He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, or for those brave souls Lord Voldemort. Chris Columbus directs this Harry Potter movie and really does a fantastic job of bringing new and old fans of the characters into this world. If this first film wasnt so well received, who knows if the franchise would have gained as much success as it did. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone really set the films up for potential success.

The movie introduces audiences to this world in such an excellent way. Not only is it easy to like this movie as a book reader, but it is a perfect initial venture into the franchise for those who have never picked up a copy. It set up the characters, the ideas, the rules of the world, and the tone brilliantly and was a big success.
Arthur Weasley And Lucius Malfoy Fight
In the book, Harry and the Weasley’s trip to book shop Flourish and Blotts doesn’t go to plan whatsoever. Firstly, Harry finds himself having to pose for pictures with Gilderoy Lockhart, despite having no desire to do so. And then, following a tense exchange of words with Lucius Malfoy, a fight between Draco’s father and Mr. Weasley breaks out.
This would have been great to see on the big screen but, instead, it doesn’t happen. Lucius and Mr Weasley fire a few verbal shots at each other but no physical violence is used; meaning the scene doesn’t have the same entertaining impact as the core material.

- In the film, the Basilisk is seen chasing Harry all around the Chamber of Secrets whereas in the book, Harry’s fight against the Basilisk occurs quickly and neatly. In the book, Harry never climbs up the statue nor does he go into the statue.
- In addition, Tom Riddle’s reaction throughout the fight in the film was significantly calmer compared to the book. In the film, outside of yelling “No!” in shock and stating that the Basilisk can still use its other senses , he does not react in any way to the Basilisk missing Harry. In the book, Tom Riddle is repeatedly yelling at the Basilisk to smell Harry when it is repeatedly missing Harry in their fight.
- The film also has Riddle claiming that Harry Potter’s parseltongue abilities are of no use against the Basilisk, as it was specifically trained to only obey him, something that was not in the book .

Not to say that the;Harry Potter series;needs any darkening , but it could do with a bit of a grungier storyline. Fans of the movies know that the wizarding world has the Death Eaters, which are closest to representing an evil cult or a fascist regime. However, including an evil presence or antagonist could have a more personal feel if it were something like the magic equivalent of the mafia.
Focusing on a character who is, for example, in debt to the magical mafia could help to provide a highly different feel for the movie while also making for a more terrifying, raw villain. Unlike Voldemort, who really doesnt show up in a true capacity until the end of;The Goblet of Fire, this villain should be hovering nearby at all times, ready to collect in the event;the hero loses their bets. With this angle not only could the movie incorporate more suspense and thriller elements but it would also add much more weight and personal stakes to the outcome of each Quidditch match.
Could Harry Potter & The Cursed Child Happen
While J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. have both denied that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child would ever be adapted for the big screen in the past, Kilars remarks rekindled old rumors. Taking into account that the play is shown in two parts because of its length, many argue that;a movie version of Harry Potter in the Cursed Child;wouldnt really work and might it be better adapted in a TV show format. Fitting the longest;Potter;book into the shortest;Potter;movie is quite the mountain to climb, but somehow the cast and crew, helmed by director David Yates, pulled it off and produced another great entry. Again, there are complaints various people have with the film, but it has so much to love.
As for its very best aspects, there are a few things to choose from, the sheer abhorrence of Dolores Umbridge, the Dumbledore’s Army subplot, and Harry’s journey of isolation. However, the very best of the film comes, once again, in its ending. The entire Ministry of Magic sequence is immense. Death Eaters facing off with Dumbledore’s Army is great, but then the Order comes, and it is phenomenal. On top of that, there is, of course, there is the heartbreaking death of fan-favorite Sirius Black, which is followed by an insane battle between Voldemort and Dumbledore.
