Hogwarts Legacy Release Date
It turns out we muggles will have to wait a little longer for our own Hogwarts Legacy to begin. As shared from the official Hogwarts Legacy twitter account, the game will now come out in 2022, so that the studio can give “the game the time it needs.”
That’s industry talk for “we need to make sure it’s not a buggy mess, where the jokes about how unstable it is become bigger than the game itself,” as happened with Cyberpunk 2077.

Originally, as we learned from the first trailer at the Sony PS5 event confirmed what was already reported by Bloomberg, Hogwarts Legacy was to come out in 2021 . The game was expected to make its public debut in summer 2020 at E3, but that event was cancelled.

In that Bloomberg story, Jason Schreier confirmed the Harry Potter RPG’s existence with two people currently working on the game which is being developed by Avalanche Software, a Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment-owned studio.

What Studio Is Developing The Hogwarts Legacy
Harry Potter RPG is being developed by Avalanche Software. This was revealed in a Eurogamer article back in 2018 and reaffirmed by Bloomberg‘s 2020 report. Avalanche Software was a former developer owned by Disney that was acquired by WB Games back in 2017.
The developer is best known for its work on the Disney Infinity games and the Tak series. Hogwarts Legacy could serve as the studio’s next big break.
What Is Return To Hogwarts
Cast and crew from the legendary Harry Potter franchise are set to reunite for the first time for HBOs Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special.
The special will tell the story of the behind the scenes of making the franchise, with brand new in-depth interviews with the cast and crew.
HBO has said that the special will invite fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.
The programme is set to honour the making of the films, as well as the famous Harry Potter studio tour in London, which is where the special will take place.
Tom Ascheim, President, Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics, said: It has been an incredible journey since the debut of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone film, and witnessing how it has evolved into this remarkable interconnected universe has been magical to say the least.
This retrospective is a tribute to everyone whose lives were touched by this cultural phenomenonfrom the talented cast and crew who poured their heart and soul into this extraordinary film franchise to the passionate fans who continue to keep the Wizarding World spirit alive 20 years later.
Executive producer Casey Patterson added: Theres magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago.

Fantastic Beasts 3 4 And 5 Cast: Who’s Coming Back For Fantastic Beasts 3
Johnny Depp will not be reprising his role as Grindelwald after he was asked to resign from the role by Warner Bros. Depp had shot one scene as Grindelwald for the third movie, but we don’t know if this will end up in the movie or not.
The role of Grindelwald will now be played by Doctor Strange and Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen. It’s not yet clear how the recast will be handled in the movie, but given the world of Harry Potter, it could easily be put down to a potion, accident or magical disguise.
Mikkelsen revealed that he didn’t talk to Depp about the role and he took it on because his daughter is a fan of the Harry Potter franchise. Don’t go expecting a Depp impression from Mikkelsen though.
“I have been a fan of Johnny Depp since I saw him as a young man, and to try to bring his intensity and his way of doing it into my work is a no-go. I have to find my own, because his is unique, and I just have to let that be, and find a different path,” he said.
As for the rest of the characters, not everyone survived The Crimes of Grindelwald, so raise a glass to Leta Lestrange who was tragically killed by Grindelwald after helping Newt and the others escape.
This doesn’t completely rule out us seeing Leta again in the series, but it would have to take the form of a flashback.
Eddie Redmayne will be back as Newt Scamander and he’ll be joined by the likes of Katherine Waterston , Jude Law , Dan Fogler and Alison Sudol .

Is There A Harry Potter Cast Reunion
HBO Max took the opportunity of the 20-year anniversary of the first Harry Potter film to announce an exciting Harry Potter cast reunion.
They released a trailer made up mostly of old clips from the films, but promising that the original stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint would return for a Harry Potter special in the new year.
J.K. Rowling will not be part of the TV special, coming after the author received widespread criticism for controversial comments about the trans community.
The TV special, named Return to Hogwarts, will premiere on January 1st 2022, where the Golden Trio will be joined by American filmmaker Chris Columbus, who also worked on the series, to discuss the films and explore their creation in depth.
The second trailer, debuting on December 7th, revealed that even more stars will be joining the original trio, including Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James and Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch and many more.
The new footage showed some of these well-loved stars receiving the iconic parchment envelopes, stamped with a red seal, inviting them to come back for the reunion.

After the trailer for a mysterious Harry Potter game leaked two years ago, Hogwarts Legacy was finally confirmed at Sonys recent PlayStation 5 Showcase. When Does The Trailer For Return To Hogwarts Come Out
On Monday December 6, 2021 the trailer for Return To Hogwarts was released with the franchise’s three main characters making appearances.
The special is an HBO Max original event and will only be available via their streaming service.
The trailer begins with the sound and image of the vast clock at the front of Hogwarts before shooting to an image of the wizarding newspaper The Daily Prophet.
The trio that includes Radcliffe, Watson and Grint have not made a public appearance together since the premiere of the final movie in 2011.
The three were last seen together at the premiere of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will be released on HBO Max on New Years Day 2022.
In exciting news, the reunion special will be available to watch in the UK on the same day, with Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts becoming available to watch on Sky Max and streaming service NOW from 1st January 2022.
It comes in the wake of the reunion special for the Friends cast, which was also released on HBO Max earlier this year.

Sky and NOW will also air Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses on 29th December 2021, which will see Wizarding World fans have their Harry Potter knowledge put to the test as they fight to be named House Cup Champion.
In addition to its release on 1st January 2021, the reunion special will also air in the US on TBS and Cartoon Network in spring 2022 in the run-up to the theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
A press release confirming the special revealed that it will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.
Alongside actors, Radcliffe, Watson and Grint, the director of the first two films, Chris Columbus, will also join the TV special to honour the magic behind the making of the films and the beautiful family created at Warner Bros Studios London two decades ago.
