Harry’s First Quidditch Match
Harry’s first-ever Quidditch match proved very eventful and tense. For starters, Harry was facing off against Slytherin. While the intense inter-house rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin had yet to reach a fever pitch, it was still an intense match just because of that.
Then you factor in Professor Quirrell, who attempted to jinx Harry off his broomstick while he was soaring above the pitch, and you’ve got an intense game at hand. Harry came close to plummeting from a great height, luckily for him, Snape was trying to keep him safe with a counter-jinx. Ultimately, Harry catches the Snitch, by swallowing it. Still, a win is a win!

Harry Wins The Quidditch Cup
Easily the best of Harry’s Quidditch matches in the game is the one that lets Gryffindor officially win the Quidditch Cup for the first time in centuries. Even better is that Harry gets to do it right in front of Malfoy.
The game is an intense one in the third book with Harry on his new Firebolt. But ultimately, despite all of Slytherin’s cheating tactics, Harry gets the Snitch and his entire team falls in on him to cover in him hugs before they take their celebrations back to the Gryffindor common room.
Harry Versus The Rogue Bludger Match
One of the best matches in the book series is in the second book because of its intensity. This match is Harry’s first match against Slytherin on their brand new fancy broomsticks with Malfoy as the Seeker. Their rivalry is at an intense level and the game is definitely a nail-biter.
To make matters even more difficult, Harry is being tracked by a rogue bludger magically enhanced by Dobby the house-elf. Harry is unable to avoid the bludger for long and gets hit with it, yet he still manages to catch the Snitch! That’s true sportsmanship.

Throughout the years, the eight Harry Potter films nabbed 12 nominations in the categories of production design, visual effects, cinematography, costumes, makeup and score. However, the blockbusters based on J.K. Rowlings books always left the ceremony empty-handed.
I didnt realize that thats shocking, Atwood told reporters backstage after her win. Because theres so much incredible kind of artistry in the Harry Potter movies. I think maybe the fact that this movie, J.K. Rowlings creation is set in the 1920s, which kind of keyed off a different sort of visual sense, might be the kind of obvious thing. But I cant believe they never won for that incredible clockwork creation of Stuart Craig in the Harry Potter movies.
Though Atwood was initially intimidated to join the franchise, she said she was inspired by the storys setting. It was such an amazing times of dreams for everyone the 20s is a great period to tweak into magic because it is very graphic, she explained. I treated it as my own visual canon and set myself free.
Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone
Harry Potter is an orphaned boy brought up by his unkind Muggle aunt and uncle. At the age of eleven, half-giant Rubeus Hagrid informs him that he is actually a wizard and that his parents were murdered by an evil wizard named Lord Voldemort. Voldemort also attempted to kill one-year-old Harry on the same night, but his killing curse mysteriously rebounded and reduced him to a weak and helpless form. Harry became extremely famous in the Wizarding World as a result. Harry begins his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and learns about magic. During the year, Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger become entangled in the mystery of the Philosopher’s Stone which is being kept within the school.

The Early Cgi Was A Bit Ropey
Yes, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was nominated for Best Visual Effects, as was the penultimate instalment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
But if you think back to the first two movies, things werent quite as rosy. Which is a shame because FX is often where movies of this kind get some Oscar love and if it had been brilliant from the start, its safe to assume that eight films later, they would have likely got one simply for all the hard work theyd put in.
However, you only need to look at the troll in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone to see how mediocre CGI can be despite a multi-million dollar budget.
Then theres Voldemort on the back of Professor Quirrells head and Firenze the centaur. Both scenes, suffice to say, dont really stand up today. Luckily, by the time Dobby came along, things had improved.
Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix
Harry’s fifth year begins with him being attacked by Dementors in Little Whinging. Later, he finds out that the Ministry of Magic is in denial of Lord Voldemort’s return. Harry is also beset by disturbing and realistic nightmares, while Professor Umbridge, a representative of Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge, is the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Harry becomes aware that Voldemort is after a prophecy which reveals: “neither can live while the other survives.” The rebellion involving the students of Hogwarts, secret organisation Order of the Phoenix, the Ministry of Magic, and the Death Eaters begins.

Has JK Rowling won an Oscar? J.K. Rowlings Wizarding World finally won an Oscar. Fourteen nominations later, J.K. Rowlings Wizarding World encapsulating Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts has won an Oscar. In a surprise to many, Fantastic Beasts won Best Costume Design at the 2017 Academy Awards on Sunday night.
The Lord Of The Rings
Where Star Wars has 11 films and James Bond and the MCU have over 20 each, there are only three The Lord of the Rings movies, yet they easily have the most Oscars. The Fellowship of the Ring won four for Makeup, Cinematography, Original Score, and Visual Effects while The Two Towers won two for Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects.
The best was saved for last, though as The Return of the King made history. It swept the Oscars, winning all 11 categories it was up for. Why Harry Potter Movies May Have Never Won
Harry Potter isnt the first to be overlooked by the Academy for an Oscar and it wont be the last. The Academy is known for shying away from mainstream films. Remember the uproar that ensued following Jennifer Lopezs Oscar snub for Hustlers?
According to Yahoo! Entertainment, there were likely a few factors that contributed to the Harry Potter movies walking away from the Oscars empty-handed. First, theyre considered movies for kids.
Second, theyre blockbusters. Third, the directors werent famous enough. Fourth, thered been poor CGI in the early films. And finally, the Academy didnt deem the acting performances worthy of an Oscar nod.
After years of getting disappointed at the Oscars, the Harry Potter movies found redemption. In 2017, according to Wired, Colleen Atwood took home an Oscar for her costume design work on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Harry Potter spinoff starring Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne premiered in 2016.

- Costume Designers Guild Award for Best Costume Design Period or Fantasy Film 2002 · Judianna Makovsky

Ireland Baldwin Calls Out Hateful Candace Owens Over Movie Shooting
And then at No. 1 there’s Harry Potter: 12 nominations, zero wins.
Early on, it seemed as if the franchise might have better luck at the 2012 Oscars. And even after Deathly Hallows Part 2‘s Best Picture buzz fizzled, and talk of an Alan Rickman Best Supporting Actor nod died, the series picked up as many nominations as it ever had.
Deathly Hallows Part 2‘s best chance for a game-changing win arguably was in Art Direction, a category where the film had had success at the guild-awards level. But in the end it was swept aside in Hugo‘s sweep of the tech awards, losing there and also in Visual Effects. It likewise went down to defeat in Best Makeup, losing to The Iron Lady.
Elswhere, Billy Crystal and the telecast made only passing reference to the film, the past year’s biggest box-office hit. No stars from the series served as presenters.
And now, as far as the Oscars are concerned, it really all does end here for Potter.
Unless, that is, one of author J.K. Rowling‘s planned adult novels casts her signature hero in something more relevant to Oscar voters.
Like, a black-and-white silent movie.

Harry’s Last Quidditch Match
Harry’s last Quidditch match in the books is surprisingly uneventful. Harry does manage to win it for his team, but barely. The game is against Slytherin but Draco Malfoy is absent. This occurred in the sixth book of the series when Harry was obsessing about Malfoy’s movements in the castle.
He was severely distracted by the fact Malfoy decided to sit the game out. Another Slytherin named Harper took over for him. He almost beat Harry too, due to his focus not being on the game at hand. But Harry managed to win the Snitch at the last second.

However, as we all know the main concept can be understood quite well with only movies even if you are not a guy who is interested in reading novels
On the other hand some people go as far as to say that Harry Potter wasnt given an oscar due to being a Warner Brothers project. I think a lot of us look fairly wryly at the politics of the American Academy , of which I am a member, said John Richardson, special effects supervisor on the Harry Potter movies.
It does beg the question why did Harry Potter not get recognized at all for the last Deathly Hallows film? he told Reuters at the press launch of the new Potter studio tour at Leavesden Studios just outside London.
