How Does One Create A Horcrux

All 7 Harry Potter Voldemort Horcrux Replicas | The Noble Collection

In order to create a Horcrux, the witch or wizard must distort their soul to such an extent that it is torn apart. Dumbledore suggests that one of the only ways to do so is cold-blooded murder. However, there could be an argument that numerous other acts can create a horcrux as well, assuming that they are so gruesome that your soul literally cannot handle it.

Arthur Weasley’s Flying Ford Anglia

Arthur Weasley owned a 1960 Ford Anglia 105E that he subsequently enchanted consequently, the vehicle can fly, become invisible, and carry the entire Weasley family in spite of its formerly non-enchanted interior dimensions , among other abilities. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the car is borrowed by Fred, George and Ron, who use it to rescue Harry from the Dursleys’ house. Ron and Harry later steal the car in order to return to Hogwarts after the gate to Platform 9¾ is sealed by Dobby. After they arrive at school, landing in the Whomping Willow, the car ejects Harry, Ron, and their luggage, then flees into the Forbidden Forest, ignoring Ron’s pleas for it to come back. Mr Weasley soon faces an inquiry at the Ministry of Magic, as seven Muggles saw the car flying across areas of Central London and the British countryside, and is forced to pay a large fine.

The 1962 Ford Anglia used in the film was acquired by Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, and is currently displayed in the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. A total of 14 Ford Anglias were destroyed during the filming of the scene where the car crashes into the Whomping Willow.

A replica of the car in its feral state can be seen in the queue line for the Dragon Challenge roller coaster at the Universal Studios Islands of Adventure theme park. Occasionally it blinks its headlights and honks its horn when its motion detectors sense that guests are standing in front of it or walking by it.

Harry Potter: Every Horcrux And Why Voldemort Chose That Object

The main villain of the Harry Potter series, Lord Voldemort, was utterly immortal thanks to his seven horcruxes. What were they, and why those items?

Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock knows who Lord Voldemort is known by a plethora of names aside from his chosen one such as He Who Must Not Be Named, You-Know-Who, the Dark Lord and even his birth name, Tom Riddle. He’s the main antagonist of the Harry Potter series and for quite a solid chunk of the books, he remains a mystery. He has a serpentine face with a flat nose and red eyes and is described as being something that’s not quite human but how? How can a wizard not be human?

The answer is revealed in book six, when Dumbledore tells Harry that Voldemort has been splitting his soul and encasing parts of it in hidden objects to secure his immortality. These are known as Horcruxes.

Voldemort’s vanity proves to be his downfall, since each of the objects are something special and therefore easier to track down . So why did he choose these specific ones?

Can The Killing Curse Destroy A Horcrux

No. The Killing Curse is specifically attuned to target the natural mystical bond that forms between a living body and its soul. A Horcrux works in a completely different way, binding the soul on a physical level to the object, thus creating a complete different kind of connection, which a killing curse wont effect.

In the table it says that Gaunt’s Ring has been destroyed in Gaunt’s house. However, Phineas Nigellus said that the last time he saw Gryffindor’s Sword in the headmaster’s room, it was used by Dumbledore to destroy “a ring”. Dumbledore showing Harry a memory of Tom Riddle’s past

During the 19961997 school year, Dumbledore began to share his findings regarding Voldemort’s Horcruxes with Harry Potter. Using the Pensieve, he showed Harry a series of memories about the boy who was Tom Riddle and the man who was Voldemort. During these lessons, Dumbledore taught Harry about the behaviours and psychology of Voldemort hoping to impart a thorough understanding of the man upon Harry. In January 1997, Dumbledore showed Harry a memory of Tom Riddle meeting with the his Potions Master, Horace Slughorn who had recently returned to Hogwarts from retirement. The memory became cloudy, and Slughorn’s voice boomed out of nowhere.

What Are All The Horcruxes In Harry Potter And How Were They Destroyed

There were seven horcruxes that had to be destroyed to defeat Voldemort, but one was unknowingly created by the Dark Lord

Every Harry Potter fan will know there were a number of horcruxes that he had to find to defeat Voldemort, but you’d be forgiven for forgetting exactly how many or what they were.

Such was the complexity and genius with which the Harry Potter books were written that when many people whizzed excitedly through the final book at lightning speed, they had to go back to get their head around how the Dark Lord was stripped of his immortality.

Horcruxes are objects infused with dark magic that allow their owner to become immortal by holding a piece of their soul within them.

Part of Harry’s quest is to destroy each one in order to defeat Lord Voldemort, who renamed himself from Tom Riddle. Seven is, of course, the most magical number, which is why Voldemort split his soul into seven – each time committing murder to do so.

One piece of his soul remained inside him and he chose six objects with a special meaning or connection to him in which to place the other six pieces. However, he accidentally created a seventh horcrux and so split his soul into eight pieces.

Here is how each of them was discovered and destroyed.

Background Of Horcruxes In Harry Potter

Horcruxes are objects that hold a fragment of a Dark witch or wizards soul. Considered the most terrible of all dark magic, part of the requirements of creating a Horcrux is that it can only be made right after committing murder. This follows an unknown horrific act that only a few people know.

The purpose of Horcruxes is that when the physical body of a witch or wizard is destroyed, the fragment of their soul inside the Horcrux prevents them from truly dying. As their soul remains, they can find ways to return to life. And since Horcruxes have defensive spells that make it difficult to destroy, a wizard or witchs soul is protected until their enemies find a way to destroy it. So, a wizard interested in obtaining immortality may consider Horcruxes, but at the cost of their soul becoming unstable.

Around the 1940s, teaching Horcruxes in Hogwarts was already banned, according to Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. However, one book called Secrets of the Darkest Art the only known book with written instructions on how to create and destroy Horcruxes remained in the Restricted Section of the Hogwarts Library. Somehow, student Tom Marvolo Riddle must have found it and read about it, but because the book said nothing about creating multiple Horcruxes, he asked Professor Slughorn for advice. Slughorn would later regret telling Riddle about the possibility of creating multiple Horcruxes and was too ashamed to admit the truth to anyone.

    Under Creation Major Issues

    7 horcruxes

“It was stated at one point that Voldemort had already “pushed his soul to the limit” in creating his seven Horcruxes. This implied a finite number of Horcruxes any one person may create before the process became too dangerous to attempt again. Though this limit was never explicitly stated, the number seemed to be set solidly at seven intentional Horcruxes, and creating seven Horcruxes in addition to the person’s own body rendered the soul unstable and liable to break off when the person whose soul it was committed murder. Dumbledore explicitly stated that Voldemort’s soul had become so unstable that it finally “broke apart” when Voldemort tried to murder Harry Potter for the first time on October 31, 1981 inGodric’s Hollow.

    Quirrell Isn’t A Horcrux

As it is always stated in the books and films that there are seven horcruxes, I have deleted the Quirinus Quirrell section in Lord Voldemort Horcruxes. Orangeminusred 16:01, January 3, 2012

And that information has been restored. There have been many attempts to remove it, but it keeps getting put back because of Pottermore, which we accept as a valid canon source. ProfessorTofty 17:55, January 3, 2012
Horcruxes are simply separate pieces of one’s soul, including the one currently alive and one’s made accidentally. In that case, Quirrell was in fact a Horcrux until Voldemort left him to become an embryo-like mass of flesh. Also, that mean’s that the fragment within Harry is 1/128th of the whole, which explains why the horcrux in Harry doesn’t do anything besides giving him massive headaches from time to time. 204.49.178.173 06:02, May 21, 2012 Nebuchadnezzar 05:50, May 21, 2012
In Pottermore, JKR says he is a “TEMPORARY” Horcrux. The piece of soul is NOT destroyed when the container dies. There are 8 Horcruxes, but the 8th is Voldemort himself. If we are to believe that Quirrell is to be counted as a Horcrux, then every creature that Voldemort ever inhabited should be included in this list, including all the animals during his exile.75.187.167.233 13:13, June 29, 2013

Why Did Voldemort Kill His Own Horcrux

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts 1& 2, and all movies, Voldemort is known to have seven horcruxes before he can die…all seven must be destroyed first.

Voldemort should know what his horcruxes are, so if he knew that Harry was one of them, then why did he kill Harry instead of keeping him alive? Assuming Voldemort wanted to live.

So harry survived the second hit, so really the horcrux being Harry should not have lived in order to kill the horcrux.

Why did Voldemort kill Harry if he knew Harry was a Horcrux?

    7 HORCRUXES Harry Potter

Although it is incredibly difficult to create even one horcrux, Voldemort purposely created six horcruxes within his lifetime, in order to stave off his chances of truly dying. Since they are of utmost importance to him, Voldemort decided to turn important pieces of Hogwarts and magical history into horcruxes. As an orphan who never truly felt at home until he discovered he was a wizard and went to Hogwarts, like Harry, Voldemort is deeply attached to his school. Additionally, Voldemort is a descendant of Salazar Slytherin, one of the founding members of Hogwarts and Slytherin house. Voldemort decided to turn objects that solidified his magical heritage and importance into horcruxes. This was the ultimate confirmation of his magical status, a promise to his angry, forgotten younger self. Here is a breakdown of each of his horcruxes:

    Tom Riddle’s Diary

In the second movie/book, Tom Riddles diary from his days at Hogwarts finds itself among the possessions of Ginny Weasley. Since it holds a part of Voldemorts soul, the diary can talk and influence Ginny, convincing her to open the Chamber of Secrets and unleash the Basilisk upon Muggle-borns at school. During the climax of the film, Harry managed to destroy the horcrux with venom from the fang of a Basilisk. We later learn that this was the first horcrux that was destroyed, which prompted Dumbledore to explore the idea that Voldemort might have created multiple ones.

Why Can Harry Hear The Basilisk

Harry hears the basilisk because he understands parseltongue. To anyone who doesnt, it would merely sound like hissing. The hissing could be put down to centuries-old plumbing or other routine noises. Harry hears the beasts hissing as words and therefore understands the imminent threat to the castles inhabitants.
