What Is The Strongest Spell In Prodigy 2020
As of now, it is the strongest spell in Prodigy. Focus Spells are pretty rare, although every player has a chance to cast it. This spell is fairly similar to an All-Out Attack, where it has an attack range of three, but the orb spawned from it and the flames after striking the enemy are both blue instead of yellow.
The Region Boundaries And Labels
Lets back track a little. For simplicitys sake, I have been using the region definitions I settled on, but I still havent justified where I drew the boundaries and why Ive named them as I have.
Europe vs. Not Europe is an easy boundary to draw. Not only is there an observable linguistic distinction in the Spanish spoken, there is a huge geographical discontinuity as well. Europe rather than Spain because first, there are Spanish speakers in Europe outside of Spain and second, because European Spanish sounds better than Spanish Spanish. One could perhaps use Castilian Spanish, which in English at least, targets that dialect, but Id rather a purely geographical term to be consistent with the other regions.
In the Americas, the boundaries are not as clear because you can find Spanish speakers the length of the two continents and there are also big distinctions in their Spanish as well. The only editions not printed in Spain were printed in Argentina , so no help finding different distribution centres there.
Latin America becomes just a catch-all for Not Southern Cone in the Americas.
Harry Potter And The Spanish Tykes
UrbanAbydos has a Potterglot post that discusses well, Ill let the poster tell you:
The amount of variation in the Spanish editions of the Philosophers Stone is stunning. Writing is an art and from draft-to-draft, you expect the language to be tweaked. But once it has been edited and published, you dont expect noticeable variation from edition to edition maybe just the correction of a typo or two. Similarly, translation is absolutely an art arguably more difficult and nuanced than just writing by itself. In addition to all the same kind of variation you expect from draft-to-draft, there is also the variation that comes from trying maintain the character and intent of the original. But again, once a translation has been edited and published, you dont really expect that much variation in the final text from edition to edition. Expect is definitely the operative word here. Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal is all over the place! I hope that Spanish is unique in this regard because Im terrified that if I start looking this closely at any of the translations that Ill find that Spanish is not the exception!
If that intrigues you, click on through youll learn about Spanish owls and second-person pronouns, among other things. As I told Bathrobe, who sent me the link saying he wasnt sure it would be of interest: I dont give a damn about HP , but I love this kind of detailed comparison of translations.

Harry Potter Is A Wizard In Other Languages Too
Check out the front window of Manhattans Libreria Lectorum, one of the nations largest Spanish-language bookstores, and youll see a witchs hat and a handful of copies of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince — in English.
While millions have already finished the sixth book in J.K. Rowlings fantasy series, fans hoping to read it in other languages will have to wait. Translating a 672-page book is a long process, made longer by the strict security imposed on Half-Blood Prince by Rowling and her publishers: Translators didnt get to see the book until it officially came out on July 16.
The Spanish publisher is just getting started and told us that the translation will probably be ready in the spring of 2006, says Marjorie Samper, product manager of Lectorum Publications, a Spanish-language book distributor that oversees the Lectorum store and is in turn owned by Scholastic Inc., Rowlings U.S. publisher. The Spanish publisher is Salamandra Editorial, based in Barcelona.
The Potter books are enormously popular throughout the world and have been translated into dozens of languages, with German and Japanese editions doing especially well. But Neil Blair, a representative from Rowlings literary agency, said that the first translations of any kind for Half-Blood Prince — German and Mandarin so far — arent expected until the fall.
This fall, Alfred A. Knopf and Vintage Espanol will publish simultaneous editions of Dr. Andrew Weils Healthy Aging.

He Didn’t Need The Resurrection Stone
Upon going gentle into that good night, Harry awakened in what appeared to be a milky white vision of King’s Cross Station, where he’d hopped onto Platform 9¾ so many times before. Dumbledore awaited him with news that he’d successfully killed off the part of Voldemort that remained inside of him in the process of dying, and that he had a choice to board a train back to the realm of the living or to just move on … to where, he didn’t say.
Harry, knowing his battle wasn’t done, opted for the former. He left behind the scaly, fetal version of Voldemort that had infected his brain for so long, and used his perceived death to gain an advantage as Hagrid carried him back to the school, with an unknowing Voldemort bragging about his conquest to garner new recruits from the ravaged student pool.

Not sure if Harry thought of it as a gift, though. But well take it.

The Ending Of Harry Potter Finally Explained
For millions across the globe, the Harry Potter book and film series was the closest thing they’d ever come to experiencing actual magic. The journey of the young wizard, from a stowaway orphan who lived under the stairs at his cruel aunt’s home into the prophesied hero who defeated the world’s darkest villain, was nothing short of epic. The final installment of the story was as complex and at times bleak as it needed to be, to wrap up seven chapters’ worth of sorcerer storytelling.
So, to make sure you caught everything important there at the end, let’s shed a little lumos light on everything that happened in the conclusion to the Harry Potter saga.

Harry Potter Characters In Chinese
Here are some of our other favourite characters from the Harry Potter series translated into Chinese.
The majority of the names are also translated into Chinese based on the sounds of their names. So you can talk to your friends all about the story of Harry Potter in Chinese:
- Ron Weasley in Chinese: lun wéislái
- Hermione Granger in Chinese: hèmn gélánjié
- Neville Longbottom in Chinese: nàwi lóngbdùn
- Draco Malfoy in Chinese: délk mrfú
- Professor McGonagall in Chinese: màigé jiàoshòu
- Dumbledore in Chinese: dèngbùlìdu
- Snape in Chinese: snèip
- Sirius Black in Chinese: xiotinlángxng bùláikè
The translation for Sirius is a little different to the other translations. Instead of translating the whole name based on the sounds, Sirius is translated as .
This literally means small heaven wolf star, after the star Sirius or the dog star, the brightest in the night sky.
Its very fitting for the character, as Sirius Blacks patronus in the Harry Potter books is a big black dog.

Number Of Official Translations
It has been difficult to accurately determine with any degree of certainty exactly how many languages Harry Potter has been translated into. As best as can be determined , The Philosopher’s Stone has been officially translated from the original English into 79 other languages, the most recent being Maori in November 2020 preceded by Kazakh and Yiddish, in February 2020. Both Bloomsbury’s and J.K. Rowling’s sites stated in 2017 that the books have been translated into 79 languagesâhowever, their count would now likely be 88 with the subsequent release of:
- and a second Mongolian translation
However, it has been argued that number actually represents the number of plus the original English. The number of authorised translations is not equal to the number of languages because there have been multiple authorised translations into the same language. Specifically, there have been two separate translations into each of: Korean, Macedonian, Mandarin Chinese, Mongolian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian and Turkish . English is often included in the list of translations even though technically it should not be. Thus: 88 â 1 English â 8 double-translations = 79. It is also worthwhile to emphasise that not all seven books have been translated into these 79 languages.
Note that in some countries, such as Spain and India, the book has been translated into several local languages sometimes the book has been translated into two dialects of the same language in two countries .

The Elder Wand Was His All Along
No matter how many horcruxes Harry and his friends successfully destroyed, Voldemort was still a more powerful wizard than him, so when Harry arose from the dead to pick a final fight with the Dark Lord, he was handily overtaken by Voldemort. But Voldemort still couldn’t kill him a second time with the wand, even after he’d taken ownership from Snape. Why? Well, it turned out that Snape wasn’t the one who’d gained control of the Elder Wand in the first place, so it didn’t pass to Voldemort upon Snape’s execution by Nagini.
Sure, Snape had killed Dumbledore and taken possession of the wand in Half-Blood Prince, but it was Draco who’d originally disarmed Dumbledore, and thus received the allegiance of the Elder Wand. Then, when Harry disarmed him in their subsequent duel, it was Harry who’d laid claim to the Elder Wand’s efficacy. So, while the Elder Wand was successfully used to strike its master down in the forest, when Harry had thoroughly surrendered himself, he still wasn’t disarmed of the wand in that battle. So, it remained loyal to Harry, instead of Voldemort. When Voldemort tried to cast a death curse on him a second time, this time against its owner’s wishes, it was a no-go. This is how the fight got dragged out long enough for …
