No Need To Think Is More Like It

Do you ever get a little bit tired of life

Throughout Harry Potter and The Order of Phoenix, Hermione is thoroughly not pleased with Professor Umbridges teaching styles she is in fact, one of the worst DADA teachers in Harry Potter. Its clear that out of everyone, Hermione isnt suffering the most from Umbridges lack of teaching , but she still is the most annoyed.

When Umbridge tells the class there is no need to talk, Hermione responds under her breath with, No need to think is more like it. Hermione believes she knows better than the teacher, and in this case, she does. Regardless of Umbridges desire to stop the students from thinking for themselves, Hermione will keep thinking, and she will continue being the smartest person in the room, Ravenclaw or not.

She Nearly Had A Sister

When Harry and Ron first met Hermione on the Hogwarts Express, she told them: Nobody in my familys magic at all. While its possible she meant her extended family, there may be a reason Hermione didnt say: My parents arent magic. In a 2004 interview with the BBC on World Book Day, J.K. Rowling revealed the following:

I always planned that Hermione would have a younger sister but shes never made an appearance and somehow it feels like it might be too late now.

Darn.

Ron and Harry know they wouldnt survive in their battle against Voldemort without Hermione. Just a few of the things she contributed throughout the years include figuring out Snapes potions riddle, leading them to the Basilisk, punching Draco, using the Time-Turner, helping Harry with the Triwizard Tournament, using an undetectable extension charm on her bag during their hunt for Horcruxes, and risking her life, just to name a few.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone

Hermione first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone when she meets Harry and Ron on the Hogwarts Express, where she mocks Ron for his inability to perform a spell to turn his rat yellow. She proves just how much she knows by declaring that she memorized all the textbooks by heart. She constantly annoys her peers with her knowledge, so Harry and Ron initially consider her arrogant, especially after she criticises Ron’s incantation of the Levitation Charm. They heartily dislike her until they rescue her from a troll, for which she is so thankful that she lies to protect them from punishment, thus winning their friendship. Hermione’s knack for logic later enables the trio to solve a puzzle that is essential to retrieving the Philosopher’s Stone, and she defeats the constrictive Devil’s Snare plant by summoning a jet of “bluebell flame”.

Hermione is the brains behind the plan to enter the place where the Stone is hidden. She responds to Harry’s wariness of Professor Severus Snape and is also suspicious of him. She reveals to Harry and Ron that she does a lot of research in the library, which helped her defeat the Devil’s Snare and work out the logic of the potions.

Rowling said on her website that she resisted her editor’s requests to remove the troll scene, stating “Hermione is so very arrogant and annoying in the early part of Philosopher’s Stone that I really felt it needed something huge to bring her together with Harry and Ron.”

Stop Stop Stop You’re Going To Take Someone’s Eye Out Besides You’re Saying It Wrong It’s Leviosa Not Leviosar

“It’s leviosa, not leviosar,” is one of Hermione’s most iconic quotes. It proves Hermione is a Ravenclaw because rather than politely correcting Ron, she chooses to do in the most know-it-all way possible.

It’s extremely Ravenclaw for Hermione to say this because, at this point in the series, she doesn’t know Ron at all. However, she still feels that she can correct him in such a direct way without any repercussions because, after all, she is right. And she proves it by easily levitating her own feather.

Living In A Corrupted Society

Hermione Grangers House Is on the Market

Academics and journalists have developed many other interpretations of themes in the books, some more complex than others, and some including . Themes such as , oppression, survival, and overcoming imposing odds have all been considered as prevalent throughout the series. Similarly, the theme of making ones way through adolescence and going over ones most harrowing ordealsand thus coming to terms with them has also been considered. Rowling has stated that the books comprise a prolonged argument for tolerance, a prolonged plea for an end to and that also pass on a message to question authority and not assume that the establishment or the press tells you all of the truth.

Some political commentators have seen J. K. Rowlings portrayal of the Ministry of Magic and the oppressive measures taken by the Ministry in the later books rel=nofollow> Mudbloods with the Ministry) as an allegory of .

Deathly Hallows begins with a pair of epigraphs, one by leader and one from . Of this, Rowling said I really enjoyed choosing those two quotations because one is pagan, of course, and one is from a Christian tradition. Id known it was going to be those two passages since was published. I always knew if I could use them at the beginning of book seven then Id cued up the ending perfectly. If they were relevant, then I went where I needed to go. They just say it all to me, they really do.

Albus Dumbledore, her former headmaster

As with most aspects of the wizarding world, Hermione read about Albus Dumbledore shortly after learning that she was a witch. Hermione on her very first train journey revealed she wanted to be in Gryffindor because it was the house that Dumbledore belonged to. She first met the Hogwarts headmaster during her her first year at the school, in 1991, and quickly came to respect Dumbledore’s immense power and seemingly infinite wisdom. Although Dumbledore was not as close with her as he was with Harry Potter, he showed great insight into her character very early on. She was one of only three students Dumbledore bequeathed a personal item, as he believed her to be, along with Ron Weasley, trustworthy of accompanying Harry on his mission to destroy Voldemort‘s Horcruxes.

He respected her intellect, perspicacity, and level-headedness, admitting to Harry that he had counted on Hermione to keep things in perspective when the trio finally discovered the existence of the Deathly Hallows. Hermione was devastated when Dumbledore was killed, and visited his portrait with Harry and Ron after the Battle of Hogwarts to determine the fate of the Hallows.

She’s Ruthless And Will Break Rules

When she wants something done, shes ruthless. Like how she confounded McLaggen just before his Quidditch trials, just so that Ron would win. It was against the rules but that didn’t stop her. The world is black and white to Hermione. Also, let’s not forget how she attacked Ron with birds out of jealousy and got away with it.

Viktor’s More Of A Physical Being I Just Mean He’s Not Particularly Loquacious

The Lake House – (Harry & Hermione Style)

For unfamiliar with the term “loquacious,” it’s another word for talkative. What’s most Ravenclaw about this quote is that Hermione could have said talkative, or a more everyday term for the benefit of Ron and Harry, whom she is talking to Viktor about.

But she instead uses a word they probably don’t know, simply because she either doesn’t realize everyone doesn’t know that word or because she’s purposefully being quick-witted and jumps at the opportunity to expand her friends’ vocabulary.

She concocts the Polyjuice Potion needed for the trio to disguise themselves as Draco’s housemates to collect information about the Heir of Slytherin who has reopened the Chamber of Secrets. However, she is unable to join Harry and Ron in the investigation after the hair plucked from the robes of Slytherin student Millicent Bulstrode was that of her cat, whose appearance she takes on in her human form it takes several weeks for the effects to completely wear off. Hermione is revived after Harry kills the basilisk, but she is distraught to learn that all end-of-year exams have been cancelled as a school treat.

Which Hogwarts House Is The Most Dangerous

2 BEST OF SLYTHERIN

Speaking of stereotypes, Slytherin is undoubtedly the house that gets the most negative rep and is often called an evil house, or at least a bad house that only produces dark wizards with little to none redeeming attributes. This is not true, however, as Slytherins have a lot of great traits.

Harry And Hermione Were Moments Away From Becoming Lovers

Following the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, all the romantic relationships of the series were finally resolved. The Harry and Hermione fans weren’t happy with the last book – even though a Hermione/Ron relationship had been heavily hinted since Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. J.K. Rowling confirmed that there were certain “charged moments” where things could have gone a different way.

She Can Be Very Close

Hermione Grangers House Is on the Market

We have seen Hermione deal with stressful situations and manages to escape complex scenarios. No one denies her magic knowledge, but she tends to stick a lot to logic and reason.

She can remember everything shes read about magic theory and apply it correctly, but Hermione doesnt seem to prioritize creativity or thinking outside the box in general.

During the first book, she didnt question the authority and held them in high regard.

While its true that her rigid ways helped her become an outstanding student, she can be very close-minded at times. Just think about how much she hated Divination classes!

As a side note, we learn in The Deathly Hallows that Ravenclaw students must answer a riddle to access their tower. If someone doesnt know the answer, they must wait for someone who does to enter.

The riddles are meant to show you two things. You wont always have the right answer, and some situations wont ever have a clear answer. Can you imagine Hermiones frustration when faced with that scenario?

Honestly Don’t You Two Read

More On The Founder Helga Hufflepuff

Helga Hufflepuff was the only one of the Hogwarts founders who didnât require any special characteristics for students. She also accepted everyone with zero preferences. As a result, this is much different than the other three founders.

According to Pottermore, Helga was very skilled at food-related charms. It is also noted that a lot of the recipes in the Hogwarts kitchens come from Helga.

Helga was responsible for the school using house-elves in the kitchen. This is because it would give them a safe place to work.

Much tension comes into play between Hermione and her two best friends Harry is furious with her because she told McGonagall that he had received a Firebolt, which was confiscated to be inspected for traces of dark magic. Ron is angry because he feels Crookshanks is responsible for Scabbers’ disappearance, while Hermione fiercely maintains that Crookshanks is innocent.

She correctly deduces Lupin’s secret after completing Snape’s homework assignment from the class. Crookshanks proves vital in exposing Scabbers as Peter Pettigrew, an erstwhile friend of James and Lily Potter, who revealed their whereabouts to Lord Voldemort the night of their murders, and was able to wrongly implicate Sirius Black in the Potters’ deaths. The Time-Turner enables Hermione and Harry to rescue Sirius and the hippogriff Buckbeak.

The Cecil and Hermione Alexander House, also known as Shenandoah, in Atlanta, Georgia is a modern, circular plan house designed by, and home for, Atlanta architect Cecil Alexander. The home was featured in Progressive Architecture in 1959 and in Life in 1959 and 1961. One aspect commented on was its supposedly inexpensive cable-suspended plywood roof.

According to the National Park Service:

The Cecil and Hermione Alexander House is a modern house with a circular plan designed by Atlanta architect Cecil Alexander as his familys residence. Completed in 1957, the house was one of the first modernist houses in Atlanta. The home features curved brick walls, flat roof, and sheet glass walls, and is organized around a central court, while the folded-plate roof floods the interior with light. According to Alexander, the circular plan is so arranged that the family at least once or twice a day has to get together, just by necessity.

The building was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on March 25, 2010. The listing was announced as the featured listing in the National Park Services weekly list of April 2, 2010.
