Daniel Radcliffe Reveals Which Harry Potter Movie Is His Favorite
With eight installments to choose from, Harry Potter fans all have different favorite films for different reasons, but when it comes to star Daniel Radcliffe, he noted that his favorite film in the series is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, as he remembers how much time he spent filming with Gary Oldman. He also pointed out that he was able to appreciate his time with Oldman due to being older than he was when the pair first started acting together in the series. He would go on to note, however, that when it comes to which film is his favorite merely from a viewing perspective, it would be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
“The fifth one, which is not one that most people cite as one of their favorites,” Radcliffe shared with WIRED in response to his favorite entry. “But I got to work with Gary Oldman a bunch in it. And I was sort of a little bit older at that point, so I was able to appreciate that more. But to watch, probably the last one.”
Despite not necessarily appreciating his time collaborating with Oldman when the pair first starred in the third entry, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Radcliffe also recently confirmed that Oldman was the actor he was most starstruck by during his time in the series.

Harry Potter Fame Wasn’t Easy For Daniel Radcliffe
Not only were Daniel Radcliffe and his co-stars, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, faced with the task of playing some of the most popular book series characters in the world at the time, they were having to face the spotlight from worldwide fame before they became teenagers.
Radcliffe’s massive success at an early age sprung him to stardom but also exposed him to heavy scrutiny. In an interview with the show, Off Camera with Sam Jones, Radcliffe detailed how he would feel “watched” whenever he’d go out with friends as a teenager. “Part of the thing is the expectation that you should just be delighted all the time, you know?” he said. “You have a great job, you’re wealthy. You don’t have a right to ever feel sad or to not be, like, excited about the whole thing all the time. I think that’s a pressure as well.” He turned to alcohol, admitting that he would show up some days to the Harry Potter sets drunk. “I can honestly say I never drank at work on Harry Potter,” Radcliffe said in an interview. “I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work.” He added, “I can point to many scenes where I’m just gone. Dead behind the eyes.”
But Radcliffe has since quit drinking and with help from his parents and friends has learned to cope with the downsides of fame. The actor has also moved away from Harry Potter-esque characters, taking roles in comedies like Miracle Workers and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt TV movie.

The main character, Harry Potter, was 11 years old during the events of the first book/movie. Since the ages of characters did not differ in the books and movies, it is safe to say how old a certain character was at what time.

Many influenced the young British actors from the Potter films influenced Radcliffe, maybe none more so than Gary Oldman, who played Sirius Black in many of the films, most notably the last, 2004s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Surprisingly, Radcliffe considers the film to be the time he learned he liked acting.
He claims that his parents constantly reminded him that he was not obligated to just keep doing this.
But as he grew in confidence, Radcliffe started to see his active creativity as his most valuable quality as an actor.
Ron Weasley, Harrys best friend often seems less mature than Harry or Hermione. However, he was 11, going on 12 at the time. His actor was a bit older and was exactly a year older than his character. So, Rupert Grint was 12 at the time of filming.

Don’t Expect To See The Old Harry Potter Again
Earlier this month, Radcliffe told the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that if he were to play any other character in the series, he would want to play Harry’s brave and beloved godfather Sirius Black or werewolf-bitten former Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Remus Lupin . Radcliffe was speaking completely hypothetically, but he piqued fans’ interest. And so, in a new interview with Sirius XM, Radcliffe was asked if after his comments on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, any Wizarding World producer called him up to gauge his interest in returning to the franchise.
“No, that has not happened,” Radcliffe said. He said that there’s always talk and speculation about how he might return to the franchise, but that’s all just driven by the media and not based in anything that’s actually happening, and he’s never been contacted by anyone about any future Harry Potter films. “So I don’t think it’s something that is coming,” he said. But he added that now that he has said that publicly, he’s brought it upon himself now, and someone will surely get in touch with him about something.
