While Bellatrix and her sister, Narcissa, married into other pure-blood families, their other sister, Andromeda, married a Muggle-born wizard named Ted Tonks. Sirius would declare that Andromeda was disowned for doing so, and Bellatrix would later claim that she hadnt even spoken to or seen Andromeda since shed gotten married.

There was another Lestrange possibly their father, and known only by his surname who was in Voldemorts crew while he was at Hogwarts. Hes seen during Professor Slughorns memories in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Then again, they probably werent all so evil. On Rowlings Pottermore site, she lists Radolphus Lestrange as a 19th century Minister for Magic . He served six years and eventually resigned due to ill health, which was widely rumoured to be inability to cope with the strains of office. Sounds like a bit of a dweeb, tbh so possibly not all Lestranges are equally nasty.

Bonham Carter was born in Islington, London. Her father, Raymond Bonham Carter, who came from a prominent British political family, was a merchant banker and served as the alternative British director representing the Bank of England at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C., during the 1960s. Her mother, Elena , is a psychotherapist who is of Spanish and mostly Jewish background, and whose parents were diplomat Eduardo Propper de Callejón from Spain and painter Baroness Hélène Fould-Springer. Bonham Carter’s paternal grandmother was politician and feminist Violet Bonham Carter, daughter of H. H. Asquith, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during the first half of the First World War.

Bonham Carter has two older brothers, Edward and Thomas. They were brought up in Golders Green and she was educated at South Hampstead High School, and completed her A-levels at Westminster School. Bonham Carter has said that she was denied admission to King’s College, Cambridge because the college officials were afraid that she would leave during the course to pursue her acting career.

Harry Potter fans will remember Helen McCrory who died from cancer aged 52, her husband Damian Lewis announced on Friday as the villainous Narcissa Malfoy, but the actor was originally supposed to play a different role in the franchise.

Her first appearance in the Harry Potter film series as Narcissa Malfoy came in the 2009 Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. McCrory reprised the role in the two Deathly Hallows instalments, released respectively in 2010 and 2011.

Before she was tapped to portray Draco Malfoys mother, McCrory was cast as Bellatrix Lestrange for the 2007 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, but had to drop out after she got pregnant.

The part of Bellatrix went to Helena Bonhman Carter, who told Entertainment Weekly in 2010: They came to me and I loved it. I love magic, I love witches, I love the whole world. I was all too happy to play a witch.

The news of McCrorys death has prompted tributes across the industry.

A student at the Durmstrang Institute, Gellert Grindelwald was a dark wizard who caused disruption among the Wizarding World in the 1920s. Kicked out of school for experimenting in the Dark Arts, he later befriended Albus Dumbledore, only to become obsessed with finding the Deathly Hallows in an attempt to end the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy.

At the end of the 2016 HP spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, it is revealed in a twist ending that Percival Graves, the director of Magical Security for the Magical Congress of the United States of America, played by Colin Farrell, is actually none other than Grindelwald.

Since the reveal, many fans have petitioned to have Farrell return to the role to replace the franchise’s controversial star, Johnny Depp.

Involvement In The Children’s Plot

In Autumn 2011, The Dark Lord Voldemort began the Children’s Plot . Bellatrix assisted in the kidnapping of thousands of children. All of which were taken through a magic portal created by Voldemort’s Pure Magic, and to a different universe in the future where Voldemort is Supreme ruler. They were placed in an institution called The Sanctuary. Bellatrix, as all the Death Eaters were, was given a few children to raise as their own. Bella recieved the children of Severus Snape, Charles Snape and Sophia Snape . Overtime, Bella was reminded of Hayley, and grew to love them as her own, not obsessive love this time, real love.

When Voldemort announced that he would need a queen to rule by his side, he had impiled frequently to Bellatrix that it would be her. However, all bets were off when he announced Sophia Snape, against her will. Bellatrix was furious and hurt. She tried to live through her daughter but it only made them both miserable. She also knew that Sophia was inlove with another. Bellatrix decided enough was enough.

During quiet hours, the evening before they were supposed to return to their world and storm the ministry, Bellatrix had Sophia and Charles round up as many people they could get. In the dead of night, they ran away. On the way, Bellatrix explained everything. There was difficulties, but they all understood after she showed them the scars she got when she tried to tell him not to do it.
