As of May 2022, J.K Rowling has a net worth of $1 billion dollars. Although Rowling has made millions off of her books, the main source of revenue now comes from amusement park deals. Additionally, she has made great money from a long series of Hollywood blockbuster films. J.K Rowling serves as a true rag to riches story. Because of this, she has never taken her wealth for granted.

JK has used her wealth and power to support a wide number of philanthropic causes and charities. In 2000, Radcliffe was invited to audition for the title role in the first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone . After a number of callback auditions and an eight-month wait, he was offered the role. It would become the breakout that brought him international fame and wealth.

The first Harry Potter film was released in 2001, and young Daniel reportedly received a paycheck of $1 million. The second film of the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, was released a year later and earned similar box-office success. It also earned Radcliffe a fee of $3 million. Although those numbers sound high to most of us, they’re nothing compared to the paychecks Radcliffe would command for the remaining movies of the series.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, released in 2004, earned Radcliffe a payday of $6 million. He went on to make $11 million for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and $14 million for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, released in 2005 and 2007, respectively. The sixth movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, reportedly brought Daniel another $24 million. The last book of the series was split into two films: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 . Radcliffe’s combined earnings from both movies were $50 million.

Daniel Radcliffe Hoards His Cash

As the man that defeated Voldemort and saved the entire wizarding world, Harry Potter certainly earned the reported $95.6 million he made from his eponymous series. Or, rather, the actor who played him Daniel Radcliffe did. Most of us would probably spend at least a small fraction of that kind of cash on a mansion, a private jet, or maybe an ice cream truck , but the rich truly stay rich by not spending any of their money. Radcliffe has admitted that he has most of his Harry Potter fortune.

“I don’t really do anything with my money,” he told The Telegraph. “I’m very grateful for it, because having money means you don’t have to worry about it, which is a very lovely freedom to have. It also gives me immense freedom career-wise.”

The truth is Daniel Radcliffe is so loaded he can pretty much do whatever he wants, including star as a farting corpse in an indie flick, which he described to Vanity Fair as “beautiful and epic.” Less bizarrely, 2018 saw Radcliffe sign on for a role alongside Steve Buscemi in Miracle Workers and brush up on his Broadway chops in The Lifespan of a Fact. Bonnie Wright: $12 Million

Bonnie Wright is another actress who really got her start in Harry Potter. This makes sense as she was rather young when she was cast in the role of Ginny Weasley. She has also been in other movies including the Hallmark film Stranded and the BBC TV film, A Life in Pictures.

Other than acting, she also wrote and directed a short film called while she was in film school. Wright has also done some modeling.

The slow march to recovery at the box office continued in international markets at the weekend as theaters opened up and moviegoers continued to return. Progress is being slowed by the lack of new films, particularly from US studios, but catalog titles are filling the void. China took advantage of an opportunity to release a movie from the Harry Potter archive for the first time in the territory, and Australian film fans got a chance to enjoy some original Star Wars. International Box Office: Grindelwald Has Quarter Billion Dollar Global Debut

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald started its international run with $191.5 million on 50,865 screens in 79 markets for a worldwide debut of $253.7 million. Its largest opening was in China, but it had to settle for second place there with $36.68 million on 22,008 screens over the weekend for a total opening of $37.53 million. It had more impressive debuts in the U.K. and in Russia . The film had the best opening in the Harry Potter franchise in 21 markets, but overall, it was only 3% ahead of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in the same markets. Its much weaker reviews will likely lead to shorter legs, but even so, it should still have no problem getting to $600 million worldwide and becoming Warner Bros. biggest hit of the year. How To Tell If Your Copy Is Rare

As Harry Potter books are still in print, the older books that tend to fetch more in value are the ones that offer something slightly different.

Most first editions are worth around £20, depending where you shop, but they could also be worth thousands pounds more.

Matthew Haley of Bonhams Auction House said, “Bonhams sold a set of first editions of the Harry Potter books in 2005 for £14,400, and on two occasions in 2007 sold copies of The Philosophers Stone for £9,000,

That first book in the series is worth hugely more than the subsequent volumes, and condition is everything. More recently first editions of the first book in fair condition have sold for around £4,000. Obviously genuine signatures or even better inscriptions by JK Rowling can add tremendously to the value.

Potter fans are also told to look for different covers, illustrations and large print – all features that are usually found on the rarer versions that tend to no longer be in print.

Millions of children and adults own Harry Potter books, but you may be surprised to know your edition could be worth a bit of money.

An excellent condition first edition of Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone has sold at auction for £43,750, after some “intense bidding”.

It was bought by Bonhams Fine Books and Manuscripts Sale and the book was missing the second “o” in “Philosopher’s” on the back cover.

Simon Roberts, Bonhams Books and Manuscripts senior specialist, said: “This was an exceptional price for a much-loved modern classic.

“The book was in excellent condition which added to its appeal for collectors and I am not surprised that it attracted so much interest and such intense bidding.”

More than 400 million copies of the Harry Potter books have been sold worldwide since the first book was published in 1997, and here are the most valuable.

Its not a good week on the home market. There are some big releases, like Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, but none of them are good. There are a couple of contenders for Pick of the Week, but the The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends: The Complete Series DVD is a re-release at a more reasonable price, while it is worth waiting to get the The Miseducation of Cameron Post: Special Edition Blu-ray.
