The Harry Potter Extended Versions have the deleted scenes, found on the home movie releases, cut back into the film. The Ultimate Edition releases of Sorcerers Stone and Chamber of Secrets in 2009 included the extended versions of each film. They are the only extended editions released on DVD and Blu-ray.

Thursday Night Previews: Fantastic Doesnt Quite Live Up To Its Name With $875 Million

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them pulled in $8.75 million during its midnight shows last night. Thats good, but a little lower than expected and not even the best of the fall so far. It was beaten by Doctor Strange, which earned $9.4 million just two weeks ago. Worse still, Fantastic Beastsreviews have fallen to 74% positive. Thats still good for a blockbuster release, but it is the lowest in the Harry Potter franchise and will likely hurt the films box office performance over the weekend. It should still make over $80 million this weekend, but it will be close. We might have to revise that prediction lower tomorrow when we have Fridays estimates. More…

Weekend Predictions: Moana Takes On Beast Over Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving weekend is one of the most lucrative weekends of the year and this time around we could have a relatively close battle between a new release, Moana, and last weeks number one film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. At least thats what analysts thought, before we saw the preview numbers. None of the rest of the new wide releases are expected to do much. Allied could become a midlevel hit, but I would be surprised if its budget was only midlevel. Bad Santa 2 is on its way to becoming another comedy sequel that bombs. If Rules Dont Applys previews are any indication, it will become one of the worst box office performers of the year. This weekend last year, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 beat The Good Dinosaur rather easily. However, Fantastic Beasts started slower than Moana, so I think we will have a new winner this week. Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoneix

Though Harry Potter and the order of the Phoneix is the longest book in the series, it is actually one of the shortest films amongst the Harry Potter movies. With a run time of only 2 hours and 22 minutes, many fans were disappointed that so many details from this book, in particular, were left out of the movie.

How Can I Watch Harry Potter

If youve watched the recent reunion film on HBO max, its no wonder why Harry Potter is back in conversation. The all together wonderful production brought teary eyes and warm hearts to display. Being able to see how much this movie franchise affected those involved in the making of these films was so endearing. But, just as much, if not more, this franchise has meant so much to the fans. With that said, here is each Harry Potter movie, ranked worst to best:

8. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Chamber of Secrets feels like an awkward attempt to maintain the nostalgia that the first movie has, but falls short. The introduction of Dobby the house elf is perhaps the best addition of this film, though he only appears for a few minutes and reappears to save the film in the end. All around, this movie fails to find a good follow up to the first movie, possibly because the first movie was so collectively loved. This movie also has the worst Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, Alastor Moody, which ruins the viewing experience.

7. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

6. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two

4. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One

2. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Received Mixed Reviews

Audience score: 79%

Five years after the “Harry Potter” series came to an end, the Potterverse reared its delightful head and gave us the spin-off series “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”

Audiences weren’t quite sure what to make of this film. Some fans called it “a fanciful stroll through a dreamlike world,” but others thought long-time Potter fans would be “underwhelmed by this extension of the wizarding world.”

“It’s not without fun elements, but there’s an almost total lack of compelling characters,” wrote audience reviewer Alec B.

Home Market Releases For November 7 2017

It is not a particularly strong week on the home market. Cars 3 is the biggest new release, but it is far from the best. There were not a lot of contenders for Pick of the Week. The Philadelphia Story and Your Name were the two best with the latter coming out on top and its Blu-ray Combo Pack is the Pick of the Week. More…

Comparison Of Each Book In The Series

First, well look at the number of words for each book in the series. The first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, has 76,944 words. It has fewer words than the other six books, making it the shortest book in the series. Since this was the first book, Rowling had more time to edit the book and make the writing more concise. Plus, she probably didnt want to make the first book too long, or the publisher might not have accepted it. She was a new author at that point. Publishers usually dont accept long novels from first-time authors.

In comparison, each of the other six books are longer, likely due to the initial success of the Philosopherss Stone, which within its first two years had sold more than 300,000 copies in the U.K. alone. According to Wikipedia, the American version, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone remained on the New York Times bestseller list for 79 consecutive weeks.

Due to the sales of the first book, the publishersBloomsbury for the British version and Scholastic for the American versionwanted more books about the world of Harry Potter from Rowling. They were willing to accept longer books because they knew to follow up books would sell well. The word count figures for the other six books, in order:

  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone: 76,944 words.

  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: 198,227 words.

The Long List Of Harry Potter Stars Who Sadly Died

    Audience score: 82%

The first film debuted to rave reviews, mostly due to its faithful retelling of J.K. Rowling’s source material.

“Sorcerer’s Stone” will always be warmly remembered as the beginning of an unforgettable series for many fans.

“It’s a tough job when you are hired to make an adaptation of a popular children’s book. And it’s even more tough when that movie is also intended to be the beginning to a long series of movies,” wrote audience reviewer Lasse G. “But Chris Columbus actually does a good job.”

    Bill Weasley & Fleur Delacour

Fleur was interested in Bill during the Triwizard Tournament, watching him from across the room. In the summer of 1995, Fleur and Bill both worked at Gringotts and immediately began dating. The Weasleys were not happy with the match, as Fleur seemed stuck-up and posh. However, when Bill was injured by the werewolf Fenrir Greyback, Fleur proved to their families that her love was not skin-deep, staying by Bills side to help his recovery.

The pair got married in 1997 and fought together in the Battle of Hogwarts alongside the other Weasleys. They had three children, Victoire, Dominique, and Louis. Their relationship reaches 22 years as of 2017, the end of the final book.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone

Harry Potter is an orphaned boy brought up by his unkind Muggle aunt and uncle. At the age of eleven, half-giant Rubeus Hagrid informs him that he is actually a wizard and that his parents were murdered by an evil wizard named Lord Voldemort. Voldemort also attempted to kill one-year-old Harry on the same night, but his killing curse mysteriously rebounded and reduced him to a weak and helpless form. Harry became extremely famous in the Wizarding World as a result. Harry begins his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and learns about magic. During the year, Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger become entangled in the mystery of the Philosopher’s Stone which is being kept within the school.

Weekend Prediction: Is Grindelwald Committing Crimes Against The Harry Potter Franchise

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the latest installment in the Harry Potter franchise, but sadly, its reviews are, by far, the worst in the franchise. It should still have no trouble earning first place and will very likely break even just on its international numbers, but this is still troubling for its future. The second biggest release of the week is Instant Family and its reviews are good, but not great. They are certainly fine for a family comedy. Widows is the best-reviewed new release, but its buzz is quiet enough that it will barely finish in the top five. Meanwhile, A Private War is expanding nationwide and that could help it earn a spot in the top ten, but I wouldnt bet on it. This weekend last year, Justice League opened with $93.84 million, while Wonder debuted in second place with $27.55 million. Add in The Stars $9.81 million opening and the three wide releases pulled in $130 million. Theres no way the new releases this year will match that and 2018 will likely lose in the year-over-year comparison. More…

    Contest: Game Of Chance

Ranking the 8 Harry Potter films

There are three wide releases, but only two of them have any chance of becoming more than a midlevel hit. Free Birds is a digitally animated family film that has a very timely release, but it is also a second-tier CG animated film. Ender’s Game is a $110 million film based on a book aimed at young adults. It is yet another film trying to tap into the vacuum left behind by Harry Potter. I don’t think either of them will be big hits, but one of them has to be the target film. I think Free Birds will have better legs, but that Ender’s Game will have a better opening. As such, it is the target film for this week’s box office prediction contest. In order to win, one must simply predict the opening weekend box office number for Ender’s Game. Whoever comes the closest to predicting the film’s opening 3-day weekend box office , regardless if they go over or not, will win a copy of The Conjuring on Blu-ray Combo Pack.

Why Do Harry Potter Book Fans Hate/dislike The Harry Potter Movies

There are many reasons why fans hate or dislike the Harry Potter movies. One is that the films did not stick to the books. As a result, the fans are disappointed and feel that the films have lost something that is essential to the series. As a result, the fandom is divided between the books and the movies. Regardless of the fandom, the Harry and the Hermione books will always be the most popular.

A major reason that fans hate the movies is because the movies did not adhere to the books style. Many characters are removed and some are remade. The characters and the world of the books were a source of inspiration for the movies. However, the fans are not alone in their disdain. Various aspects of the books and the movies are inconsistent and make the films feel unauthentic.

Changing the plot and characters of the movies will not satisfy the fan base. The films are a cultural touchstone. As such, the audience will react differently. Regardless of the fanbase, the films are still a great way to keep the magic alive. Some people will love the films while others will hate them. So, its important to know what makes fans dislike the movies.

How Long Would A Marathon Of The Harry Potter Movies Take

That completes our list of all eight Harry Potter movies in order of chronological sequence. Though the films are all quite long, you can watch them all in the span of one day. If you were to watch every movie back to back with no pauses it would take you a whopping 19 hours and 39 minutes. But, thats only if you dont have access to a time turner. Daily Box Office: Ralph Is Breaking Record Books

Its Thanksgiving long weekend, which means many studios are closed and are not reporting official numbers. However, one of the studios that is reporting numbers is Disney and they are reporting record-breaking numbers. Ralph Breaks the Internet earned $18.5 million on Wednesday, which is significantly more than either Coco or Moana managed the previous two years. In fact, this is more than Frozen managed during its record-breaking wide expansion back in 2013. This films reviews are great and it earned an A minus from CinemaScore, so it should have good legs and could top Frozens $93.59 million five-day opening. In fact, some studios think it has a real chance of $100 million during its five-day opening. Im not that bullish, but even if it only earns $90 million over five-days, it will still be a monster hit and way more than we predicted. More

Weekend Estimates: Beauty And The Beast Sets New March Record

Beauty and the Beast set out this weekend to show that its not just super heroes who can deliver big openings at the box office, and its doing so in some style. Disney is projecting a $170 million opening weekend for the live action fairytale, and the film is setting records around the world. At home, itll have the biggest March weekend of all time, and the fourth-best Saturday of all time. The studio is projecting it will have the sixth-best Sunday in history, although my money would be on it slightly outperforming today, for the fifth-best Sunday, and that it will challenge Iron Man 3s $174 million for the sixth-best opening of all time. Only Star Wars, super heroes, and dinosaur-themed movies have done better on opening weekend.More…

Have A Harry Potter Movie Marathon In One Day

Now that all 8 movies are out, and theres time being at the house, lets have a movie marathon!

From Potter Talk, heres their theory on how you can watch the series in one day!

19 hrs and 40 minutes which gives us a total of:

There are 1440 minutes in one day, so can it be done? Mathematically, YES!

It would be a very long day. For the marathon to be worthy of a true Potterheads dedication, the rules would include minimal breaks and no-fast forwarding through your least favorite scenes.

What time could you start? 4:00 AMWhat time could you end? 11: 40 PM

Are extended DVD versions possible? No. The extended DVDs which includes deleted scenes into the theatrical versions adds too many minutes into the schedule and add the risk of running over 24 hours.

You can shave off a whopping extra 1 hour and 26 minutes!! How? Almost every movies end credits are 8 to 11 minutes long. So you could cut to the next movie early or use the credits as the time to stretch and take a breather. Use a stopwatch or alarm clock for breaks to make sure you dont go over.

Bathroom breaks? You take breaks to refill on snacks/drinks/go to the bathroom as the movies play as well as taking breaks in between each movie but they must be limited.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is 2 hrs and 13 minutes long. Youll just barely be able to squeeze the first film into the day if you start earlier than 4 AM. But youll be cutting it incredibly close under 24 hours.
