Harry Potter Musical Experience Returns To The Houston Symphony

Houston Calling all Harry Potter fans! The Houston Symphony is bringing the Harry Potter soundtrack to area wizard fanatics.
Starting January 14 through 16, the sixth film in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince musical piece will be performed live by the Houston Symphony and be conducted by Constantine Kitsopoulos.
Audiences will get to watch the entire film in high definition on a 40-foot screen while enjoying Nicholas Hoopers score that made No. 29 on the Billboard 200 chart, according to a news release.
The Harry Potter film series is a once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomenon that continues to delight millions of fans around the world, says Justin Freer, president of CineConcerts and producer/conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. It is with great pleasure that we bring fans for the first time ever an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen. Weekend Estimates: Coco Gives Disney Another Thanksgiving Win
Coco will easily top the box office chart this Thanksgiving weekend, with Disney projecting a $71 million 5-day opening, including $49 million from Friday to Sunday. Thats the fourth-best Thanksgiving opening of all time, behind Frozen , Moana , and Toy Story 2 . In all, Disney lays claim to 10 of the top 11 opening weekends over this holiday period, although, to be fair, the Hunger Games and Harry Potter franchises both claim several spots in the higher reaches of the Thanksgiving weekend record chart, but were just playing in their second weekend, rather than opening.

The rest of the first week went by lazily. Nine-hours of jet lag definitely was taking its toll on Virginie. Even though we spent most of the first week cooped up on the sofa binge-watching Netflix, it still felt like heaven.
Having the ability to hold hands and look into each otherseyes while having a conversation felt so much better than speaking through our computers. It is hard for me to put this particular aspect of her stay into descriptive words because it just felt natural. Being in the presence of someone you truly love for the first time is nothing less than divine. This is something that can only be felt and not described.

Weekend Prediction: Is Grindelwald Committing Crimes Against The Harry Potter Franchise
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the latest installment in the Harry Potter franchise, but sadly, its reviews are, by far, the worst in the franchise. It should still have no trouble earning first place and will very likely break even just on its international numbers, but this is still troubling for its future. The second biggest release of the week is Instant Family and its reviews are good, but not great. They are certainly fine for a family comedy. Widows is the best-reviewed new release, but its buzz is quiet enough that it will barely finish in the top five. Meanwhile, A Private War is expanding nationwide and that could help it earn a spot in the top ten, but I wouldnt bet on it. This weekend last year, Justice League opened with $93.84 million, while Wonder debuted in second place with $27.55 million. Add in The Stars $9.81 million opening and the three wide releases pulled in $130 million. Review: Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone In Concert At The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra At Strathmore
Lights, music, and magic!
Last night the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra brought Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the first film of the beloved franchise, to the Strathmore stage in this latest installment of their wildly popular Movie and Music series.
Under the talented baton of guest conductor Justin Freer, the BSO performs live every note of this beautiful John Williams score in conjunction with a screening of the film to a sold-out auditorium.
Harry Potter is and will remain a cultural phenomenon with fans of all generations, and this concert could not have been more perfectly timed to coincide with the resurgence in popularity of the enterprise following the release of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child screenplay book just last week. Fans of all ages, from the very young to the bit more stately, came fully attired in resplendent wizards robes, Hogwarts outfits, and other fan favorite garb. Merchandise sold models of Harry Potter character wands, and refreshment booths had Harry Potter themed appetizers and drink offerings.
The evening was a wonderful and encompassing environment to satisfy any Potter lover. While all reveled in the fun and the excitement of the franchise and its fandom, it was truly the music behind it all that brought us together for this evening of entertainment.
Running Time: 3 hours, with one 15-minute intermission.
Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was the movie that showed that death was possible in the one-time childrens movie series. In this film, Harry took part in a tri-wizarding tournament that saw him battle in a series of tests to determine the school with the best young wizard.
However, that was just to move the plot along as the true importance of this movie, directed by Mike Newell, was to bring Lord Voldemort back from the dead, setting up the main villain for the rest of the series. Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame was a Hogwarts student in this movie, killed in cold blood by the Death Eaters, and Voldemort declared war on all wizards by the end of this film.

It is now Saturday and Virginies jetlag was finally starting to wear off. This was a huge day for both of us because it was time for her first birthday gift of the trip, Harry Potter at the Phoenix Symphony. Not only that, it was also both of our first official dates, ever! Both of us have never been on a date which made this night extra magical.
Virginie and I made sure to dress stylishly with a focus on comfort. We did not feel the need to have to impress each other with fancy clothes because no matter what, I thought she was beautiful.
This was the first time Virginie got a dose of Parker luck. Prior to Virginies arrival, I tried to make sure my vehicle was in perfect working condition. I am not going to lie, I stressed this quite a lot!
