Harry has been at Hogwarts for around two weeks when he finds out that the Gryffindors will have flying lessons with the Slytherins, much to his disliking. Harry does not want to spend more time with Malfoy than he has to. However, Harry finds that he is quite a natural at flying. Madam Hooch leads the class, gently sending the new fliers off the ground. Neville has an accident when his broom runs amok and breaks his wrist. Madam Hooch takes him to the Hospital Wing telling everyone to stay on the ground while she is away. Malfoy notices a Remembrall belonging to Neville, picks it up, and begins to fly around with it. Harry goes after Malfoy, who throws the ball in the air. Harry catches it spectacularly and lands safely back on the ground. Just then, Professor McGonagall arrives, reprimanding Harry and ordering him to follow her. But instead of punishing him, McGonagall introduces him to Oliver Wood, captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and makes him the Gryffindor team’s new Seeker.

Uses In Education And Business
Writers on education and business subjects have used the book as an object lesson. Writing about clinical teaching in medical schools, Jennifer Conn contrasted Snape’s technical expertise with his intimidating behaviour towards students. Quidditch coach Madam Hooch on the other hand, illustrated useful techniques in the teaching of physical skills, including breaking down complex actions into sequences of simple ones and helping students to avoid common errors. Joyce Fields wrote that the books illustrate four of the five main topics in a typical first-year sociology class: “sociological concepts including culture, society, and socialisation stratification and social inequality social institutions and social theory“.
Stephen Brown noted that the early Harry Potter books, especially Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, were a runaway success despite inadequate and poorly organised marketing. Brown advised marketing executives to be less preoccupied with rigorous statistical analyses and the “analysis, planning, implementation, and control” model of management. Instead he recommended that they should treat the stories as “a marketing masterclass”, full of enticing products and brand names. For example, a real-world analogue of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans was introduced under licence in 2000 by toymaker Hasbro.

She revealed the true birthplace of Hogwarts, quidditch and key parts of the novels
JK Rowling has revealed the true birth place of the Harry Potter books in a series of myth-busting tweets.
And it blows everything out of the water on those supposed landmarks in Edinburgh and beyond.
The Elephant House in Edinburgh claims on its website that it was “made famous as the place of inspiration to writers such as JK. Rowling, who sat writing much of her early novels in the back room overlooking Edinburgh Castle.”
But, speaking of that cafe, JK Rowling said: “I was thinking of putting a section on my website about all the alleged inspirations and birthplaces of Potter.
“Id been writing Potter for several years before I ever set foot in this cafe, so its not the birthplace, but I *did* write in there so well let them off!”
She revealed that the first time she put pen to paper on the Potter novels was in London.
She explained: “This is the true birthplace of Harry Potter, if you define ‘birthplace’ as the spot where I put pen to paper for the first time.* I was renting a room in a flat over what was then a sports shop.
“The first bricks of Hogwarts were laid in a flat in Clapham Junction.”
She added: “If you define the birthplace of Harry Potter as the moment when I had the initial idea, then it was a Manchester-London train. But I’m perennially amused by the idea that Hogwarts was directly inspired by beautiful places I saw or visited, because it’s so far from the truth.”

The Harry Potter series follows the exploits of the eponymous boy wizard as he begins his schooling at the magical castle known as Hogwarts. As such, there are several books, with one for each year hes in education. They grow impressively in scope and tone, with later editions winning almost every award imaginable in a number of regions around the world. Pottercast and MuggleCast have both been around for a very long time and remain the most-followed and trusted sources of discussion and celebration, and for getting better acquainted with the actors and creators from the Harry Potter Universe.
And of course, as Harry Potter grew up, so did the readers. There exists an entire world of Harry Potter Erotica, which talks about what really happens when hundreds of excited teenagers live together in a castle that has only too many places to hide in there is literally a Room of Requirement on the seventh floor. Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets
In the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Rowling pits Harry against Tom Riddle, Lord Voldemort’s “memory” within a secret diary which has possessed Ron’s younger sister Ginny. When Muggle-born students are suddenly being Petrified, many suspect that Harry may be behind the attacks, further alienating him from his peers. Furthermore, Harry begins to doubt his worthiness for House of Gryffindor, particularly considering he discovers he shares Lord Voldemort’s ability to communicate with snakes via Parseltongue. In the climax, Ginny disappears. To rescue her, Harry battles Riddle and the monster he controls that is hidden in the Chamber of Secrets. To defeat the monster, Harry summons the Sword of Godric Gryffindor from the Sorting Hat supplied by Dumbledore’s pet phoenix, Fawkes. In doing so, Dumbledore later restores Harry’s self-esteem by explaining that that feat is clear proof of his worthiness of his present house.

Ive been the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Ive done the Warner Brothers Studio Tour Twice. I even had a Harry Potter Sweet table at my wedding

The new students are greeted at the castle door by Professor Minerva McGonagall, who tells them they will soon be sorted into their houses. All Hogwarts students live in one of four residences: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin, with each house having its own team for Quidditch. The houses are in a yearlong competition with one another to acquire the most points, which are earned by success in Quidditch games and given by teachers for academic achievement and lost for student infractions, in order to win the House Cup awarded at the end of the year.
The first-years wait in an antechamber while McGonagall checks to see whether it is time yet. The Hogwarts ghosts glide into the room by mistake while debating whether to offer Peeves another chance.
After a brief mental discussion with the hat in which it tries to suggest Slytherin to him, the hat places Harry in Gryffindor. Harry is pleased to find that Ron joins in Gryffindor with him. Draco Malfoy is placed in Slytherin.

Why are first editions so valuable? For one, its a good way to differentiate between the various versions, and its most likely to be true to the original intent of the author. Given that were looking at a series, earlier editions tend to be worth more, as owners werent aware that it was going to be such a massive success at the time.
For example, the original UK version of the Order of the Phoenix came in at 766 words, while the 2014 edition had 800. In comparison, the US edition has 870. Thats a significant difference, which saw multiple rewrites to make it more suitable for a North American audience.
