All 7 Horcruxes Getting Destroyed

This is one of the Horcruxes that you probably didnt expect.

In fact, it had to be explained by J.K. Rowling herself because it isnt entirely clear that this is one of them.

Like Harry Potter, this wasnt the intention but he did become a Horcrux.

The piece of Voldemort was contained within the professor, essentially making him a kind of Horcrux.

However, this was a conscious piece that was able to leave the container.

Voldemorts Horcrux Hiding Places Ranked

Voldemort hid pieces of his soul all over the world of Harry Potter – but which hiding places actually made sense?

Horcruxes, as every Harry Potter fan knows, allowed Voldemort to evade death – which is why he carefully hid them. His plan, of course, was that this could make him both immortal in terms of general aging, and able to enter dramatic fights without fear of defeat. At the hands of Harry , neither of these worked out so well for him.

Maybe things would have been a bit better for Voldemort if he had put a bit more effort into hiding those pieces of his soul? Weve ranked the Horcrux hiding places from the absolute bottom of the barrel, up to surprisingly clever.

What Happens If A Wizard Dies While Horcruxes Remain

As I said above, the purpose of a Horcrux is to ensure the immortality of the wizard who created it. The wizard’s human body can be killed but his soul will survive in a state of limbo because the soul fragments live on in the Horcruxes. This is what happened to Voldemort after he tried to kill baby Harry. His soul kept the essence of who he was alive after his body died, and he wandered for a decade in a form that was less than ghostly.

Sirius Black’s Enchanted Motorbike

Sirius Black owned a flying motorbike, which he lent to Hagrid the night Harry’s parents died. It is first seen when Hagrid delivers the baby Harry to Number 4, Privet Drive in the first book, and then again when Hagrid uses it to transport Harry to a safe house in the seventh volume. In Deathly Hallows, various modifications have been made to the bike by Mr. Weasley, allowing it to create a brick wall or a net that erupts from the exhaust pipe and to shoot dragon fire from the exhaust, impelling the bike’s sudden acceleration. The dragon-fire feature is used to great effect by Hagrid and Harry when being chased by Voldemort; however, Mr. Weasley did warn that he was unsure of its safety and that they should use it only in an emergency. He was right to say this, as the sidecar of the motorbike, unaffected by Hagrid’s magic dislodged after the abrupt acceleration.

The bike is severely damaged when, with Hagrid and Harry aboard, it crashes into Ted and Andromeda Tonks‘ garden pond. Mr. Weasley covertly tells Harry that he plans to put the bike back together when “he has time”, meaning when Mrs. Weasley is distracted or has forgotten about it. He hides it in the chicken coop and manages to repair it, giving it to Harry between the end of Deathly Hallows and the epilogue. The bike is now still in Harry’s possession, but he doesn’t use it.

Voldemort Was Not The Only Wizard To Make One

What is the symbolisim behind Voldemort

Voldemort used Horcruxes to great success, but he was not the first or only wizard to have used them. The first Horcrux was created by Herpo the Foul, an Ancient Greek wizard and one of the earliest known Dark Wizards. He most likely invented the process for creating a Horcrux, and he shared Voldemort’s snake-like features.

The resemblance is not the only thing he shared with Voldemort, though. Herpo the Foul also bred the first Basilisk, and he was one of the earliest known Parselmouths.

These qualities associate him with Salazar Slytherin, likely making Herpo the Foul one of Salazar’s ancestors, which would also make him one of Voldemort’s ancestors. It is currently unknown if or how Herpo’s Horcrux was destroyed or how he died, and it is possible he is still alive, at least as a spirit.

Although Voldemort did not make the first Horcrux, he may be the only wizard to successfully create more than one Horcrux.

List Of All The Horcruxes

While the audience isnt aware of what a Horcrux actually is, theyre introduced to it in the very first book and movie.

Part of this is something you may already know, but another part is something you may not be aware of.

Since these are so important in preventing one of the evilest wizards from coming back after being dealt with, its an important aspect of the plot.

Once all of these objects and people are dealt with, Voldemort can finally be defeated.

To actually find every last Horcrux, Harry and his friends have to adventure throughout the wizarding and non-wizarding worlds.

This makes the scenery quite a bit different and interesting, away from the Hogwarts magical school.

Its more of a traditional fantasy setting than what the audience is used to, opening up quite a bit to the rest of the fictional universe.

About half are obvious and the other half isnt as obvious.

Youll see why.

Harry Potter: Every Horcrux And Why Voldemort Chose That Object

The main villain of the Harry Potter series, Lord Voldemort, was utterly immortal thanks to his seven horcruxes. What were they, and why those items?

Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock knows who Lord Voldemort is known by a plethora of names aside from his chosen one such as He Who Must Not Be Named, You-Know-Who, the Dark Lord and even his birth name, Tom Riddle. He’s the main antagonist of the;Harry Potter;series and for quite a solid chunk of the books, he remains a mystery. The answer is revealed in book six, when Dumbledore tells Harry that Voldemort has been splitting his soul and encasing parts of it in hidden objects to secure his immortality. These are known as Horcruxes.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

In the second instalment, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Rowling introduces Tom Marvolo Riddle, a manifestation of a teenage Voldemort that resides inside a magical diary found by Ginny Weasley. In this book, Ginny is written as a shy girl with a crush on Harry. Feeling anxious and lonely, she begins to write into the diary and shares her deepest fears with the sympathetic Tom. However, at the climax of the story, when Riddle rearranges the letters in his name to write “I am Lord Voldemort”, Riddle is revealed as a magical manifestation of the boy who would later grow up to become the Dark Lord. Riddle states he has grown strong on Ginny’s fears and eventually possesses her, using her as a pawn to unlock the Chamber of Secrets, whence a basilisk is set free and petrifies several Hogwarts students. Harry defeats the manifestation of Riddle from the diary and the basilisk. In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Albus Dumbledore reveals to Harry that the diary was one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes.

Dumbledore Was Wrong About How To Create Them

VOLDEMORT’S 7 HORCRUXES GETTING DESTROYED!

In order to create a Horcrux, a murder must be committed. According to Dumbledore, Voldemort was using significant deaths to create his Horcruxes. Dumbledore based this idea on the two Horcrux-related murders he knew;nothing about.

The first was the murder of Moaning Myrtle, which created the diary Horcrux. The second was the murder of Voldemort’s father, Tom Riddle, Sr., which created the Gaunt ring Horcrux.

However, given the rest of the history of Voldemort’s Horcruxes, Dumbledore was mistaken that the murders needed to be significant. The Slytherin locket Horcrux was created with the murder of a Muggle tramp, and the Ravenclaw diadem Horcrux was created with the murder of an Albanian peasant. Dumbledore was working with incomplete information and drew incorrect conclusions about how Horcruxes are created.

Harry Should Have Been Able To Control The Basilisk

When Tom Riddle turned the Basilisk against Harry in the Chamber of Secrets, he claimed that Harry’s parseltongue would of no use against the Basilisk, since the creature was trained to only obey him. This revelation was added for the movie and was not in the books. This statement is somewhat problematic in the story, though.

Since Harry is a Horcrux and contained a piece of Voldemort’s soul, Harry should have been able to control the Basilisk. It is possible that this piece of Tom Riddle’s soul was as unaware that Harry was a Horcrux as Voldemort was or only said this to convince Harry not to try.

Still, if Harry had attempted to control the Basilisk, he should have been able to do it.;It could have made Harry’s final battle in Chamber of Secrets much easier.

Magical Abilities And Skills

Rowling establishes Voldemort throughout the series as an extremely powerful, intelligent, and ruthless dark wizard, described as the greatest and most powerful Dark Wizard of all time. He is known as one of the greatest Legilimens in the world and a highly accomplished Occlumens; he can read minds and shield his own from penetration. Besides Dumbledore, he is also the only wizard ever known to be able to apparate silently. Voldemort was also said to fear one wizard alone, Dumbledore.

On her website, Rowling wrote that Voldemort’s wand is made of yew, whose sap is poisonous and which symbolises death. It forms a deliberate contrast to Harry’s wand, which is made of holly, which she chose because holly is alleged to repel evil.

Rowling establishes in the books that Voldemort is magically connected to Harry via Harry’s forehead scar. He disembodies himself when his Killing Curse targeting Harry rebounds on him, leaving the scar on Harry’s forehead. In the books, and to a lesser extent in the films, Harry’s scar serves as an indicator of Voldemort’s presence: it burns when the Dark Lord is near or when Voldemort is feeling murderous or exultant. According to Rowling, by attacking Harry when he was a baby Voldemort gave him “tools no other wizard possessedthe scar and the ability it conferred, a magical window into Voldemort’s mind”.

What Is A Horcrux

A Horcrux is an object that enables its creator to preserve a part of their soul via the usage of extremely dark magic. After it was created, the soul will live on inside the object, making the wizard immortal as long as the Horcrux exists. If the physical body gets destroyed the Horcrux can be used to regain a physical body. The soul inside the Horcrux will remain in the form the wizard was at the point of its creation.

The part regarding immortality is what Horcruxes are known for, however, they can also be used as weapons. Because the part of the soul inside the object exists on its own, it has the ability to affect the people surrounding it.

The Horcruxes were recorded to affect the carriers immensely. The best example of this is the way Slytherins locket affected the trio while they were searching for the remaining Horcruxes.;

This effect is mostly exhibited through the darker thoughts the carrier will experience. This also affects the way they use magic. At one point it enabled the Trio to cast a Patronus.

Given that the part of the soul still has some magical abilities it can also possess emotionally weaker people. This is what happened to Ginny Wesley during the events of the second movie. If this happens the life span of the person will be severely decreased.

Not much is known about Horcruxes because wizards avoided any kind of Dar Arts. The only known source of information about creating Horcruxes is contained in the book named The Secrets of the Darkest Art.;

It Took Harry Ron And Hermione 9 Months To Track Down And Destroy Voldemorts Horcruxes

How Voldemort

Based on J.K. Rowlings fiction, the magical trios hunt for Horcruxes began on the night of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacours wedding Aug. 1, 1997. After Death Eaters crashed the party, Harry, Ron, and Hermione sought refuge at 12 Grimmauld Place, the former home of Harrys godfather, Sirius Black. There, they pieced together the location of Slytherins locket.;

When the lockets negative energy impacted Ron, he left Harry and Hermione behind. The two traveled to Godrics Hollow in search of the Sword of Gryffindor. Later, Ron, Harry, and Hermione were taken to Malfoy Manor, where they learned Bellatrix Lestrange was hiding another Horcrux in her Gringotts vault.;

The Harry Potter Series

Youve probably at least heard something about this magical series, which fascinates children as well as adults alike.

Its different than traditional fantasy series such as the Lord of the Rings in that its much more relatable, especially with young children growing up.

>> 100 Best Magic Tricks Revealed! <<

After all, its set in modern times and people can feel like theyre really part of the world.

Narnia is the same way, but its set in a much older time so its a bit less relevant.

The original plotline involves the main character in his quest to learn about himself, learn about the magical world, grow into an adult wizard, and deal with one of the greatest evils that his world has ever seen.

While it seems like a lot for just one person, Harry has friends and allies to help him on this adventure.

While this doesnt make his situation much easier, it helps prevent a catastrophe of all the evil magic users taking over the world.

Now that the main series has ended, theres the possibility of an expanded world.

This is apparent from the spin-off series on a period shortly before the main series called Fantastic Beasts.

There are even movies based on these books.

Additionally, modern video games add another dimension to the Harry Potter universe, though its not just about the original plotline.

The mobile game Hogwarts Mystery is shortly before the main plot.

Perhaps you read the books as a child and some of the details are a little fuzzy.

Why Didnt The Basilisk Fang Kill Harrys Horcrux

A question many wondered was why Harrys Horcrux wasnt destroyed when he was bitten in the second movie. Tom Riddless diary along with other Horcruxes got destroyed immediately but Harry did not die immediately.

Harry was only bitten once while the diary was stabbed several times. This allowed Harry to survive for some time after he was bitten. The Basilisks venom is powerful but it allowed Fawkes to show up and heal Harry with its tears.

The bottom line is that since the diary was stabbed several times it was beyond any possibility of magical or physical repair, but since Harry was bitten only once which did not cause irreparable damage.

When Did Each Horcrux Get Destroyed In The Harry Potter Movies

I have just watched the last of the Harry Potter movies for the second time on a long flight and my brain was addled through lack of sleep. As far as I remember, three of the eight horcruxes were destroyed in that movie.

But I couldn’t make my memory add the total destroyed up to eight across the movies. So when were they all destroyed, in which movie and by whom? And does the total add up to 8?

  • I thought the first horrocrux was Professor Quirrel. He was destroyed in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by Harry Potter, with his hands. Remember Harry was the horrocrux never ment to be so, technically, there were eight horrocruxes.;user19095Feb 20 ’15 at 3:07

The Horcrux hunt was a mission given to Harry Potter in to find all of Lord Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes and destroy them. The mission fell to Harry Potter to complete. He was joined by Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, and they set off in the aftermath of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour’s wedding.

Lord Voldemort’s had only seven Horcruxes:

  • Nagini the Snake. -> Destroyed by Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
  • Voldemort also retained part of his soul inside him.

They eventually destroyed all of the Horcruxes by 2 May 1998. The hunt ended with the death of Lord Voldemort at the hands of Harry Potter at the end of the Battle of Hogwarts and this is in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

    Arthur Weasley’s Flying Ford Anglia

All of Voldemorts Horcruxes Explained – Origins | Harry Potter

Arthur Weasley owned a 1960 Ford Anglia 105E that he subsequently enchanted; consequently, the vehicle can fly, become invisible, and carry the entire Weasley family in spite of its formerly non-enchanted interior dimensions , among other abilities. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the car is borrowed by Fred, George and Ron, who use it to rescue Harry from the Dursleys’ house. Ron and Harry later steal the car in order to return to Hogwarts after the gate to Platform 9¾ is sealed by Dobby. After they arrive at school, landing in the Whomping Willow, the car ejects Harry, Ron, and their luggage, then flees into the Forbidden Forest, ignoring Ron’s pleas for it to come back. Mr Weasley soon faces an inquiry at the Ministry of Magic, as seven Muggles saw the car flying across areas of Central London and the British countryside, and is forced to pay a large fine.

The 1962 Ford Anglia used in the film was acquired by Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, and is currently displayed in the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. A total of 14 Ford Anglias were destroyed during the filming of the scene where the car crashes into the Whomping Willow.

A replica of the car in its feral state can be seen in the queue line for the Dragon Challenge roller coaster at the Universal Studios Islands of Adventure theme park. Occasionally it blinks its headlights and honks its horn when its motion detectors sense that guests are standing in front of it or walking by it.
