Step 1 DIY Harry Potter Wand Craft
Come up with a plan for your wand!
Its always fun to make up your own idea, or you can even try to make wands from the actual Harry Potter movies.

Step 2 DIY Harry Potter Wand Craft
After you have figured out what you want your wand to look like, its time to bring out the hot glue gun.
This is probably the most tedious part of the craft, especially if you are trying to make little knots in the wand like I did for the Elder Wand. These knots are created out of the glue.
Making Wand Knots and Bumps
If you want to do this, it will take a lot of spinning the wand and several additions of glue. However, you can do pretty much anything you want with the design whether it be swirls, texture, or wand handles.
Step 3 DIY Harry Potter Wand Craft
After your glue has dried, and your wand is the desired shape, now you can paint it however you like!
Dont forget to decide what type of wood its made out of and what core it has!

How To Add Detail To Diy Wizard Wands:
Carving is the biggest way to add a little character to each wand making it unique, but here are a few other great ideas we used:
- Hot Glue: One request was a Hermione style wand. I stained a basic wand brown. Once it dried I used hot glue to give it that 3d twist around the base. Once it hardened I brushed on brown paint just on the glue with a touch of gold.
- FIRE: Ok, this one was all my husband. He used a torch to give some burned look on some of the wands that was well received by the new owners.
- Name the wands! This is where it gets really fun. Add a small tag with the wands information. Example: Silver lime wood with a dragon heartstring core, 11 ½ and slightly yielding flexibility.

The creation of the Deathly HallowElder Wand was highly unusual. In the book The Tales of Beedle the Bard, there was the legend of the Deathly Hallows called The Tale of the Three Brothers. In the story, Death was asked by the oldest of the Peverell brothers to be given a wand that would win duels. Death approached an Elder tree, retrieved a branch, and created the Elder Wand.
