Chapter : The Other Minister
- “The trouble is, the other side can do magic too, Prime Minister.”
- Rufus Scrimgeour, to the Muggle Prime Minister.
The Muggle Prime Minister receives a notice that Cornelius Fudge is to meet him. He then recollects Fudge’s earlier meetings with him: his first meeting with Fudge soon after he became the Prime Minister, Sirius Black‘s escape from Azkaban, the Quidditch World Cup, the Triwizard Tournament and the 1996 Azkaban mass breakout. When Fudge finally arrives, he reveals a number of incidents which had occurred in the Muggle world and for which the Prime Minister is forced to owe responsibility: the collapse of the Brockdale Bridge, a supposed hurricane in the West Country, the deaths of Amelia Bones and Emmeline Vance and the insanity of Junior Minister Herbert Chorley which have all been caused by Lord Voldemort, his followers the Death Eaters and their Giant allies. In short, the Second Wizarding War has begun. Fudge also reveals that he has been sacked and replaced by Rufus Scrimgeour as Minister for Magic. Scrimgeour too meets the Prime Minister and discusses security arrangements with him. He also reveals that Fudge will be a laison between them.
The End Of Childhood And The Beginning Of Voldemort’s Demise
For Harry, Ron, and Hermione, this movie marks the end of their admittedly rocky childhoods and their first steps toward adulthood. Much of the film is concerned with their teenage romances, but by the end, the three of them decide to not come back to Hogwarts for what is supposed to be their last year of school. After years of Voldemort hanging over their heads, they now have a path to stop him.
Other than Dumbledore’s death, the other crucial part of the ending of “Half-Blood Prince” is the revelation that Voldemort has split his soul into seven Horcruxes various magical items that keep him alive even when his body is killed. This is how he survived the night Harry’s parents died. Plus, the diary from “Chamber of Secrets” was one of those Horcruxes. Dumbledore’s plan was to hunt down each Horcrux and destroy it, but with him out of the picture, Harry decides he needs to take that responsibility on himself. Ron and Hermione join him, and they do exactly that in “Deathly Hallows.”
But first, they discover that the locket Harry and Dumbledore nearly died retrieving is actually a fake Horcrux. In it is a letter signed “R.A.B.” it’s later revealed that this is Regulus Arcturus Black, the younger brother of Sirius Black, Harry’s godfather. He was a Death Eater who defected and attempted to destroy the Horcrux but died in the process. Harry, Ron, and Hermione now have to find the real one, and all the others, to save the Wizarding World.
Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone
The movie that started it all came in 2001, four years after the publication of the novel. In the film, a young boy named Harry Potter lived with his emotionally abusive aunt and uncle until he learned his parents were great wizards, and he received an invitation to begin studying at Hogwarts, a prestigious wizarding school.
Daniel Radcliffe took on the role of Harry Potter at the young age of 12, along with fellow child actors Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. The cast was rounded out by some of Britain’s top acting talent, and the film went on to an impressive $975 million at the box office for director Chris Columbus.

Chapter 2: The Phoenix Lament
- “And he knew, without knowing how he knew it, that the phoenix had gone, had left Hogwarts for good, just as Dumbledore had left the school, had left the world … had left Harry.”
- Harry thinking about Fawkes.
The empty Dumbledore’s office
After the battle, Ginny accompanies Harry to the hospital wing, where he learns that the only other person who died was a Death Eater. None of Harry’s friends are badly hurt, apart from Bill Weasley, the Weasleys’ oldest child who was attacked by an untransformed Greyback, although the only side effects are permanent scars across his face and a liking for rare steaks. Fleur expresses her desire to marry Bill despite his potential transformations, and she and Mrs Weasley reconcile. Tonks reveals her love for Lupin, who had refused her because he was a werewolf and felt that she deserved someone young and whole, unlike himself. Professor McGonagall questions Harry about what he and Dumbledore were doing, but Harry, under orders from Dumbledore not to tell anyone except Ron and Hermione, refuses. The teachers then discuss the future of Hogwarts, and plans for Dumbledore’s funeral. Harry turns his back on the Half-Blood Prince’s book, and regrets ever possessing it, although Hermione and Ron comfort him, stating that while the Prince may have had a mean sense of humour, nothing in the book ever indicated that he was evil, or capable of murder.
Harry Potter Wand Tour Coming To Yorkshire In Week Long Light Show
Witches and Wizards across Yorkshire can rejoice next month, as Hull plays host to a magical installation from Harry Potter.
As part of a promotional tour for the upcoming third Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them film, Hull has been chosen to host nine 15ft magic wand statues after beating stiff competition from other cities across the UK.
Selected thanks to a public vote, the wands will soon go on display for fans of the Harry Potter Universe to enjoy, right here in Yorkshire, reports Hull Live.
Originally, the wands were due to arrive in November, but pandemic delays meant that their visit was delayed until now, with the first magical arrivals due to open to the public on March 2nd in Queen Victoria Square.
Prior to this, the wands have previously been displayed at other iconic locations across the UK such as St Paul’s Cathedral in London back in 2019.
The announcement about Hulls selection has also been a long time coming, with the decision made back in the summer of 2019 before finally being confirmed this week.
The wands themselves are designed to support Harry Potter author JK Rowlings charity, Lumos, which hopes to end the institutionalisation of children worldwide.
As part of the voting process, Hull received the most votes of anywhere in the country and will be the first city beyond London to host the structures, before they move on to Stoke, Reading and Birmingham.

Chapter 1: The Secret Riddle
- “I can make bad things happen to people who annoy me. I can make them hurt if I want to.”
- Tom Riddle, to Dumbledore.
Tom Riddle reading on his bed at Wool’s Orphanage in Dumbledore’s memory
In his second lesson with Dumbledore, Harry first sees Caractacus Burke talking about a locket of Salazar Slytherin‘s that a pregnant and desperate Merope Gaunt had sold him, Riddle having abandoned her when she stopped giving him Love Potion, then goes into a memory of Dumbledore’s to the orphanage that Riddle had grown up in. Harry learns that Merope had later died in childbirth, and that even at an early age, Riddle had developed his powers, which he used to punish people who annoyed him and had a sadistic, cruel and independent nature, just like the adult Voldemort. Dumbledore also reveals to Harry that Voldemort likes to collect trophies.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix
Two years later, it was time for the next Harry Potter movie to have the heroes step up and start to fight back. David Yates directed this film and remained with the franchise to the end. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix saw the rise of the powerful Order of the Phoenix to battle the Death Eaters, and Harry learned who his real allies were.
This was the step in Harry’s journey where he found himself betrayed, as the Ministry of Magic refused to believe Voldemort was back and left the Order to fight alone, which resulted in the death of Harry’s beloved godfather Sirius Black.

Chapter 1: Silver And Opals
- “He did not usually lie in bed reading his textbooks that sort of behaviour, as Ron rightly said, was indecent in anybody except Hermione, who was simply weird that way.”
- Description of Harry’s obsession about the Half-Blood Prince book.
Imperiused Katie Bell touching a cursed necklace
Harry finds a couple of spells scribbled on the Half-Blood Prince’s textbook. He tries one of them in his dormitory, but points his wand at Ron by mistake, which results in Ron hanging by his ankle from the ceiling. Later that day, Harry, Ron and Hermione go to Hogsmeade, where they witness Katie being cursed after touching a strange necklace. Remembering seeing the same necklace in Borgin’s shop, Harry voices his suspicions of Malfoy to ProfessorMcGonagall, but she, like Ron and Hermione, rubbishes his theory, stating that Malfoy did not go to Hogsmeade as he had a detention with her, and that there is no proof that he bought the necklace.

Funny People Depressed Box Office
2009 took another hit at the box office over the weekend, bringing in just $125 million. This might seem like a huge amount, but that’s 17% lower than last weekend and 18% lower than the same weekend last year. Year-to-date 2009 has earned $6.43 billion, which is 7.0% more than the running tally from this time last year, and if 2009 can just maintain pace with 2008 for the rest of the year, then the total ticket sales will reach $10 billion for the first time ever. However, we haven’t matched box office numbers in nearly a month, so things will need to turn around soon. More…

Harry Was Right About Draco But Not Quite
Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy have been rivals since Harry’s first day at Hogwarts. Draco’s always been an entitled, arrogant bully who’s gone out of his way to hurt Harry, Ron , and Hermione , but “Half-Blood Prince” takes him to new extremes and yet sets him on a new path.
For the whole school year, Harry is convinced Draco has been inducted into the Death Eater ranks, joining his father. The last scenes prove this is true: Voldemort charged Draco with killing Dumbledore and he’s got the fancy Dark Mark to show for it. He tries halfheartedly a few times, with the cursed necklace and the poisoned bottle of mead, but this time, he enacts his true plan, letting the Death Eaters into Hogwarts via the Vanishing Cabinet. They corner Dumbledore at the top of the tower, but, even though Draco’s been a horrible person for the last six years, he doesn’t have it in him to murder someone. He hesitates, even though he’s certain Voldemort will kill him and possibly his family if he doesn’t complete the task.
Dumbledore, to his credit, knew all along that Draco was plotting this, but he doesn’t want Draco to follow through because he doesn’t want his student to cross that line. He tells Draco, “Years ago, I knew a boy who made all the wrong choices,” comparing the young Slytherin to a teenage Tom Riddle.
Scary Amounts Of Competition
There should be six new films in the top ten this weekend, or rather three new films, two re-releases, and one film expanding into the top ten. However, while there is a lot of activity, only one of these films is opening in more than 3,000 theaters while the others are opening in less than 2,000. Because of this, there’s not much doubt about which film will top the chart, but there is a question of by how much. There is also a question of when the overall box office will be able to keep up with last year. More…
Don’t Miss: What Is In Shrinking Solution
Is It Any Good
David Yates, who took over the franchise with Order of the Phoenix, has created a mature, relationship-focused installment that masterfully sets the stage for the high-stakes final installments. Hardcore Potterphiles should know by now that not all of their favorite characters or scenes will make it into the film adaptations, and even movie-only fans will have to deal with no scenes set in Defense Against the Dark Arts class , hardly any Neville or Weasley twins, and a bit too much foreshadowing in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
What Yates does offer is an incredibly human look at how adolescent wizards deal with their burgeoning hormones: “Won Won” lands his first girlfriend, Hermione acknowledges the extent of her undeclared feelings for Ron, and Harry realizes that his best friend’s kid sister, Ginny , just might be his match. It’s adorable — and spot-on — that even during the darkest times, teenagers still want to snog. Meanwhile, Broadbent is great as snobby, tipsy Slughorn, who still harbors kind thoughts for his once-favorite pupil. It’s that empathy for the promising young wizard that Tom Riddle once was that makes it possible to connect the dots between Harry, Tom, and even the enigmatic Snape. As emotional as the film’s climactic scene is, there’s a small sense of relief in knowing that Harry still isn’t alone. He has loyal, unconditional friends ready to risk their lives so that light can prevail over darkness.
