Fred and George give Harry Potter the Marauder’s Map
Fred and George Weasley stole the map from Filch’s office in their first year at Hogwarts. They had been taken to his office for letting off a Dungbomb and saw a drawer marked “Confiscated and Highly Dangerous“. George dropped another Dungbomb, while Fred stole the map from the drawer. They had to experiment with it in order to learn how to get it to work, but it gave them clues, “flickering into life here and there” when they came close to the activating phrase, until finally they got it exactly. Because of this map, the twins memorised the secret passageways of Hogwarts, which they used for quite a few of their many pranks.
In Harry Potter‘s third year at Hogwarts Fred and George gave him the map. It was a mark of their high esteem for Harry, and their belief that he stood in need of assistance with a destiny none of them yet fully understood, that they later gifted the map to him, unwittingly passing it on to the child of one of the creators.

Sirius died two years later, battling Death Eaters at his beloved godsons side. Peter was strangled to death by his silver hand a gift from Lord Voldemort the moment he showed mercy to Harry. Remus, the last Marauder standing, was killed at the Battle of Hogwarts along with his wife Nymphadora Tonks. The couple left a son, Teddy Remus Lupin, to whom Harry had agreed to be godfather.
We last saw the Marauders together in the Forbidden Forest. Reunited by the Resurrection Stone, the Marauders helped Harry find the courage he needed to make the ultimate sacrifice. Thanks to this, Voldemort was defeated and peace was restored to the magical world. The Marauders were gone but their legacy would live forever.

Padfoot is a nickname Sirius Black, Harry Potters godfather got during his Hogwarts years in a gang of students called the Marauders. Padfoot was the perfect name for an animagus who would turn into none other than a dog. If you have not read the books, you might have heard this name almost at the end of the franchise when Harry uses it as a code for Snape.

After graduating, the four friends were recruited into Dumbledores Order of the Phoenix. Mrs Potter was also a member and soon the happy couple were celebrating the birth of their son, Harry. Sirius, who had been the best man at their wedding, was named the babys godfather.
However, all was not well. Once a certain prophecy came to light, little Harry was targeted by Lord Voldemort. The Potters went into hiding at Godrics Hollow and, taking the advice of Sirius, appointed the unassuming Peter as their secret-keeper. Unfortunately, Peter had turned spy for the biggest bully in the playground and saw a golden opportunity to win Voldemorts favour. Thanks to his betrayal, James and Lily were murdered trying to protect their son.

An enraged Sirius immediately sought revenge. During their confrontation, Peter caused an explosion that killed several bystanders before escaping into the sewers in his rat form, leaving behind his severed finger. Harry first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Starting in 1981, when Harry was just one year old, his parents, James and Lily, were murdered by the most powerful Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort . He attempted to kill Harry too, but was unsuccessful and only left a lightning bolt shaped scar on Harry’s forehead. Voldemort’s body was destroyed, but his soul was not. Harry later learns that the reason why he survived was that his mother sacrificed herself for him, and her love was something that Voldemort could not destroy.
According to Rowling, fleshing out this back story was a matter of reverse planning: “The basic idea Harry … didn’t know he was a wizard … and so then I kind of worked backwards from that position to find out how that could be, that he wouldn’t know what he was… That’s… When he was one year old, the most evil wizard for hundreds and hundreds of years attempted to kill him. He killed Harry’s parents, and then he tried to kill Harryhe tried to curse him…. Harry has to find out, before we find out. And for some mysterious reason, the curse didn’t work on Harry. So he’s left with this lightning-bolt shaped scar on his forehead, and the curse rebounded upon the evil wizard who has been in hiding ever since”.

Did Snape Understand Hes Got Padfoot
Severus Snape was a student at Hogwarts at the same time as the Marauders. Since they often referred to each other by their nicknames, Snape must have known them, as did many other students.
He knew who Padfoot was, and he understood Harrys code. The context behind this question takes place in Dolores Umbridges office after she catches the students who were training on the school grounds.
Once Dolores and her spies discovered the newly pronounced illegal actions were going on in the school she was now a headmistress of, she spent all her time trying to catch them and find out as much information as she could.
Once Harry ended up in her office along with other students, she called Severus to bring her the truth serum. When Severus told them there was no serum left since she spent the last bit on Cho, she gets an idea to torture Harry.
Just before Snape leaves, Harry tells him that hes got Padfoot. Snape claimed he had no idea what that meant because Dolores demanded to know, however, we did find out later Snape understood Harry was talking about Sirius.

Shocking truths were revealed and important events were set in motion one night at the Shrieking Shack. Sirius had escaped Azkaban after spotting Scabbers in the Daily Prophet. Meanwhile Remus had been made Professor Lupin and was teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts to Jamess teenage son. Peter realised his number was up at Hogwarts with one old friend resident as a teacher, another an escaped convict and a suspicious ginger moggy on his tail. Once again, he faked his own death and he almost got away with it.
Harrys friends, the Marauders and even Severus Snape all wound up at the Shrieking Shack where the truth finally emerged. Jamess presence was also felt in the form of his sons Patronus. In Dumbledores words the following day, Prongs rode again last night.
Unfortunately, this took place during a full moon. Before Siriuss name could be cleared Remus transformed and Peter escaped in the ensuing chaos. Afterwards Peter returned to his master, Remus resigned and Sirius went on the run with a fellow fugitive a Hippogriff named Buckbeak. He always did like to travel in style.

And more especially when they picked on poor Severus Snape though, in fairness, it should be recalled that James Potter acted swiftly in rescuing Snape from certain death following a dangerous prank set by Sirius.
Both understood the risks of being associated with the Order. Dark forces would seek to destroy them. But neither expected their undoing, when it finally came, would spring from one of their own close associates.
Harry Potter And The Half
In the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry enters a tumultuous puberty that, Rowling says, is based on her and her younger sister’s own difficult teenage years. Rowling also made an intimate statement about Harry’s personal life: “Because of the demands of the adventure that Harry is following, he has had less sexual experience than boys of his age might have had.” This inexperience with romance was a factor in Harry’s failed relationship with Cho. The map isenchanted to insultSeverus Snape if he should ever come into possession of it and attempt to use it.
