Ginny enters the scene in the first book, and really doesnt have any major roles except for being a little sister to Ron.; She acquires a liking towards Harry merely because he is, The Chosen One.; In the second book, Ginny is dragged into the Chamber of Secrets and succumbs to the counterfeit friendship of Tom Riddle, which she finds through his diary.; She has to be saved from the Chamber of Secrets by Harry because of her foolish mistakes.; Ron also has to be saved many times by both Hermione and Harry because either his wand is acting up, or he just simply doesnt have the knowledge to get himself out of a given situation.; It seems to me that Harry and Hermione both spend a good amount of their time saving other people, which is second nature to them both.; If thats what they want to do, I feel like they should be in it together, and work as a team.; Ron and Ginny dont seem to be any help in most situations, and act as more of a burden than a aid in times of need.; In both Ron and Hermiones, and Harry and Ginnys relationships, the characters seem to be unequally yoked.

First, a disclaimer: I love the Harry Potter books and films. I grew up with them. I will read them to my children.
That said, theyre not perfect. J.K. Rowling herself recently admitted that Hermione and Ron should not have ended up together at the end of the series. I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment, she said. Thats how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.
Fans were obviously upset. But as long as were revising the books, here are a few more suggestions.

1. The amount of time they spent in the forest in book seven
The seventh book had a lot of problems, but none so great as that stupid forest. I, like everyone else who preordered the last Harry Potter book, read the whole thing in a day. And yet the time they spent in the forest doing little except being angsty teenagers felt interminably long. Cut out that third of the book, and you have yourself a tight finale.
2. Ginny
Yes, it was a crime that Harry and Hermione didnt end up together. But the bigger problem was that Harry ended up with Ginny, who, sadly, had little personality. Seriously, name a personality trait for Ginny Weasley besides nice andbrave. You cant.
