Weekend Predictions: Will Fantastic Be Fantastic Or Will It Merely Be A Beast At The Box Office
At the beginning of the month, we thought there would be four wide releases / expansions this week. However, it turns out there will be just one, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The lack of wide releases should help it at the box office and there is a small chance it could top $100 million over the next three days. While there are no other wide releases, there are a few films opening or expanding semi-wide. Of these, The Edge of Seventeen is the only one with a realistic shot at the top five. It is earning the best reviews of the week and did earn a lot of film festival buzz, so that should help. Billy Lynns Long Halftime Walk had an amazing opening in limited release last weekend, but it will likely struggle as it expands into just over 1,000 theaters this weekend. Finally theres Bleed for This, which is expected to barely make the top ten. This weekend last year, the final installment of the Hunger Games franchise opened with just over $100 million. Theres a slim chance Fantastic Beasts will do the same. Even if it doesnt, the depth this year is much better than last year and that should help 2016 win in the year-over-year comparison. More…
Could Harry Potter & The Cursed Child Happen
While JK Rowling and Warner Bros. have both denied that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child would ever be adapted for the big screen in the past, Kilar’s remarks rekindled old rumors. There are a great many avenues a future Potter project could take, including a series about the Marauders or Harry’s career as an Auror. Adapting the play to a movie would open the content to Potterheads who weren’t able to see the play. But taking into account that the play is shown in two parts because of its length, many argue that a movie version of Harry Potter in the Cursed Child wouldn’t work, and it might be better suited to a TV show format. The studio has announced a call for writers on a potential spinoff show set in the world of Harry Potter, as it happens.
Where To Watch The Harry Potter Movies
As of February 2022, you can find all eight original Harry Potter movies on HBO Max and also on Peacock .
Due to various rights issues, the two streamers have traded the Harry Potter movie collection between them. Now, they appear to be sharing for at least a period of time.
The two Fantastic Beasts films are now available on HBO Max: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald .

Weekend Predictions: Moana Takes On Beast Over Thanksgiving Weekend
Thanksgiving weekend is one of the most lucrative weekends of the year and this time around we could have a relatively close battle between a new release, Moana, and last weeks number one film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. At least thats what analysts thought, before we saw the preview numbers. None of the rest of the new wide releases are expected to do much. Allied could become a midlevel hit, but I would be surprised if its budget was only midlevel. Bad Santa 2 is on its way to becoming another comedy sequel that bombs. If Rules Dont Applys previews are any indication, it will become one of the worst box office performers of the year. This weekend last year, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 beat The Good Dinosaur rather easily. However, Fantastic Beasts started slower than Moana, so I think we will have a new winner this week. Harry Potter Hbo Max Plot Theories
Warner Bros is showing no sign in stopping its development of the Wizarding World, so now we need to consider how this TV series fits into the overall narrative.
It could be a complete reboot of the movies, set for seven series, with one book told over one series. In our opinion, this is the less likely choice, as the movies have proven such a popular hit, and remaking them all wouldnt flesh out the universe any further.
What could be a likely option is exploring something such as The Marauders. If youre not aware, this is the name of a group that is made up of James Potter , Sirius Black , Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew .
The Marauders went to Hogwarts at the same time as Lily Evans and Severus Snape. There, the group went on many adventures, including learning to turn themselves into animagi to help Lupin with his lycanthropy problem.
After the four finished their studies, they went on to fight the uprising of Lord Voldemort which resulted in creating The Boy Who Lived, AKA, Harry Potter.
Fans of Harry Potter have been requesting an adaptation of The Marauders for a very long time, so we think this is the most likely option.
Alternatively, it could be an on-screen adaptation of The Cursed Child, the stage play set within the Harry Potter universe following the offspring of the main characters. Or it could even be set earlier, somehow tying into Fantastic Beasts or the upcoming game, Hogwarts Legacy.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will premiere Jan. 1 on HBO Max, right as the clock strikes midnight and the new year begins. To watch it, you’ll need an HBO Max subscription. On top of the original set of characters, the play also features Draco Malfoys son Scorpius, Hermione and Rons daughter Rose, as well as Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestranges surprise offspring Delphi. The time-travel aspect of the play could make for a very engaging movie or TV series, both for loyal Potter fans and new audiences, by exploring much of the original story through a fresh lens.

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone introduced everyone to the world of Harry Potter . We meet 11-year-old Harry as he discovers that he is not just a neglected child, but a wizard. He then travels to Hogwarts where he meets his soon-to-be best friends forever, Hermione and Ron .
Quickly, our hero is tested when he learns that dark forces reside in Hogwarts trying to bring back He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named . Chris Columbus directs this Harry Potter movie and really does a fantastic job of bringing new and old fans of the characters into this world. If this first film wasnt so well received, who knows if the franchise would have gained as much success as it did. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone really set the films up for potential success.

Chris Columbus Wants To Make A Cursed Child Movie
Chris Columbus first mentioned his interest in making a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie during an interview with Variety. The interview itself was for a special 20th-anniversary celebration of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Columbus stated “I would love to direct The Cursed Child. Its a great play and the kids are actually the right age to play those roles. Its a small fantasy of mine.” While it’s true that the Harry Potter trio may be the right-ish age to play their adult counterparts, the entirety of this Chris Columbus fantasy hinges on whether or not the cast wants to return. A Cursed Child movie simply wouldn’t be the same without the original cast, and it’s doubtful Warner Bros. would agree to a film without them. All of that being said, the idea of making the HP sequel is a decent one. The Fantastic Beasts prequel has gotten a lot of flack, therefore it might be a better idea to fast-forward in the timeline, rather than go back. There were many fans of the Harry Potter franchise that didn’t get to see the play for themselves. The Cursed Child could be looking at sky-high presales.
Weekend Estimates: Ralph Slips Still Strong Hannah Tops Expectations Still Soft
Ralph Breaks the Internet will retain top spot on the weekend box office chart with an estimated $25.8 million for a two-week total of $119.3 million. Granted, this is lower than we predicted, but not so much lower than anyone at Disney should be panicking. Internationally, the film added an estimated $33.7 million in 27 markets, lifting its international total to $87.7 million after two weeks of release. Its only major market opening of the weekend was the U.K. where it reportedly earned $5.2 million. This is less than Wreck-It Ralph opened with, but that film debuted during the school holidays, so it got a boost. In 2000, after a seven-month search, lead actor Daniel Radcliffe was discovered by producer David Heyman and writer Steve Kloves seated just behind them in a theatre. In Heyman’s own words, “There sitting behind me was this boy with these big blue eyes. It was Dan Radcliffe. I remember my first impressions: He was curious and funny and so energetic. There was real generosity too, and sweetness. But at the same time he was really voracious and with hunger for knowledge of whatever kind.”
Radcliffe had already established himself as an actor in the 1999 BBC television production of David Copperfield in which he played the title role’s childhood years. Heyman persuaded Radcliffe’s parents to allow him to audition for the part of Harry Potter, which involved Radcliffe being filmed. Rowling was enthusiastic after viewing Radcliffe’s filmed test, saying she didn’t think there was a better choice for the part of Harry Potter.
Also in 2000, the then unknown British actors Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were selected from thousands of auditioning children to play the roles of Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively. Hogwarts Legacy Release Date Potentially Leaked
Hogwarts Legacy — the new Harry Potter game from Avalanche Software and WB Games for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X — is officially slated to release sometime this year. When this year is the million dollar question. Amidst rumors and speculation, the game could be delayed again, this time into 2023, a potential December release date has leaked. And if this leak is to be believed, the game is releasing on December 6, 2022, a Tuesday, the most common day for games to release other than Friday.
The leak comes the way of Amazon, which has listedThe Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy: Exploring the Unwritten Wizarding World for a December 6 release. This is particularly notable because previously the product had a December 31 placeholder. As you would expect, the Internet quickly noticed this, and the listing has since been changed back to December 31.
Of course, this could be nothing more than an error, but if it is, it’s an odd one as December 6 is not a placeholder date, ruling out this being an automated change. This appears to be a human error, if an error at all.
