Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone 1st Edition

Earlier this year, over the Summer, a Harry Potter book once again made headlines when it sold at auction for an impressive £28,500 . This first edition of the book was, once again, one of the only 500 copies that exist in the world, which explains why they sell like hotcakes for the price of a Picasso painting.

The book was actually published with two mistakes, and back when it was first published, in 1997, it sold for just a little over $1. How far it has come!

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire 1st Edition Hard Back

The second edition of Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire we present to you as one of the most valuable editions from the saga is worth more than twice the copy we mentioned before. It also represents a first edition, only this time, we’re talking about a Bloomsbury hardback, which in itself is even more beautiful.

Additionally, the copy is signed by JK Rowling, with an inscription that reads “To one of my favorites! J K Rowling “. You’d probably never guess something like this would actually be worth $8,604, but it definitely is! It’s also available for purchase on AbeBooks.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban 1st Edition Signed By The Movies’ Cast

We’ve already established that first editions can be worth quite a nice penny, to say the least. Even when we’re not talking about the first book of the series! For instance, this particular copy of the saga’s third book is a hardback first edition that comes with a pretty nice extra – hence the $7,372 price tag.

Aside from all the things that set it apart from the copies you can get at any bookstore, this book is signed by every single cast member of the Harry Potter movies, including the main trio Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. You not only get the first edition, but you also get all the autographs you could possibly want! Available on AbeBooks.

Editions Of The Daily Prophet

Bloomsbury launch Harry Potter Book Night

To tell you the truth, I believe that one of the most ingenious aspects of the movie The Order of the Phoenix was how the covers of the Daily Prophet were used to communicate a great deal of information. Your Christmas tree can now perform the same action! Each of these Daily Prophet ornaments from LaReesCollection comes with an important headline from the Wizarding World, such as the Flying Ford Anglia, news about Hogwarts headmasters and Harry Potter, and the rise of the Dark Lord. You can choose from a variety of topics, including the Flying Ford Anglia, news about Hogwarts headmasters and Harry Potter, and the rise of the Dark Lord. To tell you the truth, if it were up to me, I’d buy all of them and hide them around my Christmas tree as a treasure hunt for any daring visitors who came to admire my decorations.

Conservative Objections To Liberal And Socialist Values

The right-wing U.S. John Birch Society has objected to Rowling’s books and her public statements. In his article for the John Birch Society’s magazine The New American, Constitution Party Communications Director Steve Bonta compared Harry Potter negatively to The Lord of the Rings, saying, “The Potter books read in places like diatribes against the modern middle class, especially whenever Harry confronts his ludicrously dysfunctional and downright abusive adopted family, the Dursleys.”

The sixth book in the Harry Potter Book Series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince gives us insights into Severus Snape. This is also the book in which Dumbledore dies. He leaves the responsibility of finding and destroying the remaining Horcruxes, to Harry, Ron and Hermione.

Harry comes across an old Potions textbook with a number of spells and notes pencilled in. He aces his Potions class with the help of these tips from the textbook, which is the property of the Half-Blood Prince. The school gets a new Potions teacher, Professor Slughorn and Snape finally gets the job he coveted, Defence Against the Dark Arts.

Everyone believes that Snape is not to be trusted, but Dumbledore firmly believes that Snape is on the side of the good. However, in the climax, it is Snape who is revealed to be the Half-Blood Prince and is the one who kills Dumbledore! Harry witnesses this and is devastated. Hogwarts and the wizarding world will never be the same again.

Harry Potter Universe Factoid: Voldemort, as Tom Riddle, a student at Hogwarts, first discusses the idea of Horcruxes with Professor Slughorn and goes on to create seven such Horcruxes to keep himself alive in some form. Harry Potter, without Voldemorts knowledge, becomes the eighth horcrux on the night that Voldemort killed Harrys parents.

Harry Potter And The Half

Things take a turn for the expository in this penultimate installment, which sees Harry learn all about Voldemorts family and origin story, so to speak. Dumbledore gives Harry these lessons to prepare him for a grand future battle with Voldemort, presumably in the vein of keeping his enemies closer. What Harry doesnt know is that Dumbledore is planning something even bigger a plan that he, Harry, becomes more inexorably entangled in with each passing day.

At the same time, Harry suspects Malfoy to be colluding with Voldemort, and begins obsessively tracking him on the Marauders Map. But each new lead just seems to be a wrong turn, and Harry grows increasingly frustrated with the lack of evidence when he knows that Malfoy is guilty. His only good luck, funnily enough, is in potions class. After receiving a secondhand textbook filled with tips and tricks from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince, Harry shines under the tutelage of their new potions professor Slughorn. Hermione, meanwhile, is jealous of Harrys newfound academic success, and attempts to uncover the Princes identity to prove hes crooked.

Among the darker books in the Harry Potter book series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the first after Voldemort comes to life. Harry and his cousin Dudley are attacked by Dementors in Privet Drive and Harry uses the Patronus Charm to ward them off. He is then summoned to a hearing at the Ministry for performing magic in the presence of Muggles.

Harry is escorted to the temporary headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix where he spends the rest of the summer. Through the book, we see Harry being ignored by Dumbledore for some inexplicable reason which is revealed at the end. Meanwhile, the school has turned strange after the arrival of Dolores Umbridge, sent by the Ministry to keep an eye on Hogwarts and prevent news of Voldemorts return from spreading because the Ministry does not believe it to be true!

Dolores Umbridge makes life difficult at school and brings down the level of instruction drastically, sticking to theory rather than practical experience. Harry, Ron and Hermione get together to create Dumbledores Army, a secret society that trains students in spells that they may have to use against Death Eaters Voldemorts followers.

The book ends with a standoff between the Order of the Phoenix and Voldemort and his supporters at the Ministry of Magic. Sirius Black, Harrys Godfather is killed in this showdown. While this breaks Harrys heart, it strengthens his resolve to find and kill Voldemort.

And an exciting event is about to take place! The Triwizard Tournament! Students from two other wizarding schools arrive at Hogwarts to participate in the championship. Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

While not part of the original seven-book series, Cursed Child and the accompanying stage play have become a generally accepted addition to the Harry Potter canon. This 336-page text picks up where the Deathly Hallows epilogue left off, with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Malfoy sending their unfortunately named kids off to Hogwarts Harrys son Albus and Malfoys son Scorpius serve as our protagonists this time around. Upon arrival at Hogwarts, the boys are both sorted into Slytherin and forge an unlikely friendship, which naturally causes tension between Albus and Harry over the next few years.

After a fight with his father, Albus overhears Cedric Diggorys father Amos asking Harry to use a more powerful version of a Time Turner to go back in time and rescue his son. When Harry refuses, Albus enlists Scorpius to help him save Cedric, with the aid of Diggorys niece Delphi. However, as anyone whos seen Back to the Future can attest, messing with timelines is never a good idea especially in the wizarding world. Things are further complicated by the fact that Delphi is not who she says she is, and may have sinister ulterior motives when it comes to rewriting history.
