What Happened After Harry Potter

Firenze Was Allowed To Return To His People

Harry Potter: What Happened to the Characters After the Series Ended | OSSA Movies

The role of Firenze was greatly diminished in the Harry Potter movies. This is because it would have been expensive to include a centaur in more scenes than was necessary.

In Philosopher’s Stone, Firenze carries Harry back to the rest of his group. He is stopped by two other centaurs, one of whom thinks that allowing a human to ride on a centaur is a betrayal of their ideals.

In Order of the Phoenix, Firenze is chosen to take over the Divination classes at Hogwarts. This leads to him being kicked out of his colony and almost being killed if Hagrid hadn’t saved his life. He continued to teach at Hogwarts during the events of Deathly Hallows.

Firenze fights alongside the other teachers at the Battle of Hogwarts, though he is badly wounded. He was later allowed to return to his colony, as the events of the battle led to many centaurs changing their anti-wizard stance.

Richard Harris Aka Og Dumbledore Thought Fawkes Was Depicted By A Real Bird

During a portion of the reunion, which featured Daniel Radcliffe and director Chris Columbus , the two recalled filming certain scenes with Harris, aka the OG Dumbledore.

In their conversation, the two shared a laugh while describing filming the scenes that involved Harris and Fawkes, the phoenix that served as Dumbledores animal companion.

In the films, Fawkes is animatronic. But Harris, who was succeeded by Michael Gambon in the films after his death, didn’t know that, according to Columbus and Radcliffe.

“Richard came in and looked at the phoenix, and said ‘wow they train these animals marvelously these days,'” Columbus said.

“We never told him,” Radcliffe said.

“He just thought it was a real bird,” Columbus said.

When the films wrapped, Rickman continued to act in films including “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” , “CBGB” alongside Grint, and “Eye in the Sky” .

Rickman died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 69 in January 2016.

His final film credit was reprising his voice role as Absolem the caterpillar in “Alice Through the Looking Glass” , which was released four months after his death.

Neville Longbottom Kept The Dumbledore’s Army Coin

What Happened to the Dursley

Neville Longbottom finally had his chance to shine in Deathly Hallows, when he slew Nagini and became a hero to the wizard community. We actually know a lot about what happened to him afterward, though J. K. Rowling saved a few of the details for interviews.

After the events of Deathly Hallows, Neville Longbottom served as an Auror. He would later pursue his favorite topic from his time at Hogwarts and return to the school as the Professor of Herbology. Neville would marry Hannah Abbott, who worked as the landlady of the Leaky Cauldron, before becoming the Matron of Hogwarts.

It seems that Neville learned from the mistakes of Severus Snape and tried to become the best teacher he could be. This is why he kept hold of the Dumbledore’s Army coin, as he would show it off to his students to impress them.

J. K. Rowling also confirmed that Neville’s parents would remain in St. Mungo’s Hospital for the rest of their lives, despite the desire of the fans to see them recover some day.

What Happened To The Dursleys

Petunia Dursley, Lily Potter’s sister and Harry’s aunt, was a woman of great mystery. With a loud scream after opening the front door, she took in her nephew after his parents’ demise. Sadly though, sometime before the year 2020, Petunia passed away from unknown causes. Harry’s blanket, which he was wrapped up in when he arrived, and which she had kept, came back to Harry.

Harry then passed this blanket on to his son Albus.

Petunia proudly, and quite rightly, bust into tears when she saw her “Duddykins” shake hands and bond with Harry. One of the reasons that Dudley possibly never returned to Privet Drive was that he wanted to stay close to his remaining parent Vernon, who undoubtedly was still grieving over his beloved wife’s demise.

James Potter Was Played By Adrian Rawlins

After Hogwarts…what happened in 19 years

Adrian Rawlins played James Potter, Harry’s father.

Before “Harry Potter,” Rawlins was known for his work in films and on miniseries including “The Woman in Black” , ITV’s “Soldier Soldier,” BBC One’s “Insiders,”

Throughout the filming of the series, Rawlins also worked on “Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself” and the documentary “Dunkirk” .

Harry & Dudley Made Peace And Consider Each Other To Be Family

Harry Potter was forced to live a life of abuse at the hands of his aunt and her family throughout his upbringing. This continued on until he discovered that he was a wizard, though he was still forced to return to Privet Drive at the end of each school year.

Dudley Dursley bullied Harry throughout their time in Privet Drive. This finally changed when Dudley encountered a Dementor and saw himself as a bully for the first time. This was the event that changed Dudley for the better, which led to the emotional farewell between him and Harry in the final book.

The Cursed Child confirmed that Aunt Petunia died sometime before 2020. We aren’t sure if Vernon is still alive or if he remarried, but we do know that he signed the petition to keep Jeremy Clarkson on as the host of Top Gear, which proves that he was still alive as of 2015.

J. K. Rowling had originally wanted Dudley to be seeing off his own magical children at King’s Cross Station, though she later changed her mind, as she couldn’t imagine the magical gene surviving in any child of Vernon Dursley. She later decided that Harry & Dudley would visit each other after they had kids of their own and would just sit in silence as they played.

Dolores Umbridge Was Given Life Imprisonment

The vast majority of the Harry Potter villains were killed during the final battle of the series. The Malfoys managed to escape prison due to the fact that they colluded at the last minute, but the majority of the remaining Death Eaters were slain in combat.

Dolores Umbridge is absent from Hogwarts during the final battle of the series. The last time we saw her was when Harry witnessed the kangaroo court that Umbridge was presiding over at the Ministry of Magic. Umbridge was using her position in the new regime to have Muggle-borns sent to Azkaban.

After Voldemort was defeated, Umbridge was arrested and sentenced to Azkaban for the remainder of her life, as many of the Muggle-borns that she had sent there had died under the Dementors’ care. Umbridge actually got off easy, because the Dementors were taken out of Azkaban when Kingsley Shacklebolt became the Minister of Magic.

He Time Traveled With Ron And Hermione

Fans got accustomed to Harry, Ron, and Hermione going on adventures in both the Harry Potter books and movies.

While Harry Potter and the Cursed Child expanded on the next generation of children, Harry still went on another adventure with his friends.

Harry and Hermione time-traveled in The Prisoner of Azkaban, but unfortunately Ron was too injured to accompany them.

That being said, Ron did get to time-travel with his friends in The Cursed Child when they had to go back in time to rescue Albus and Scorpius from Voldemorts daughter Delphi.

Like always, the iconic trio saves the day and prevents evil from spreading throughout the world.

Completion Of The Series

In December 2005, Rowling stated on her web site, “2006 will be the year when I write the final book in the Harry Potter series.” Updates then followed in her online diary chronicling the progress of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with the release date of 21 July 2007. The book itself was finished on 11 January 2007 in the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, where she scrawled a message on the back of a bust of Hermes. It read: “J. K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room on 11 January 2007.”

Rowling herself has stated that the last chapter of the final book was completed “in something like 1990”. In June 2006, Rowling, on an appearance on the British talk show Richard & Judy, announced that the chapter had been modified as one character “got a reprieve” and two others who previously survived the story had in fact been killed. On 28 March 2007, the cover art for the Bloomsbury Adult and Child versions and the Scholastic version were released.

In September 2012, Rowling mentioned in an interview that she might go back to make a “director’s cut” of two of the existing Harry Potter books.

His greatest achievement to date remains getting his picture on a Chocolate Frog Card.

Hermione was the only member of the original trio to complete her schooling at Hogwarts. After which, she went on to a successful career in the Ministry of Magic. Watson Said Kissing Grint Was Among Hardest Things She Had To Do

The Ron and Hermione shippers finally got the kiss they were hoping for in the final book/film. But it was actually a hard scene for Watson and Grint, despite their close relationship off screen.

“I mean obviously us kissing was the most horrifying thing either of us have ever had to go through,” Watson told Grint during the reunion.

“It was just built up for the whole series,” Grint responded.

While it was meant to be “this dramatic make out,” Watson said the two just “kept laughing.”

Finally, to get the take, Watson said she just “went for it.”

“I kind of think I blacked out i just remember your face getting closer to mine,” Grint recalled.

“You make it sound like an actual horror show in your head,” Watson joked back.

“Kissing Rupert is one of the hardest things I ever had to do,” Watson said in an interview during the reunion. “It was “so wrong on every level, because Dan, Rupert and I are so much siblings.”

Well then.
