In 2012, Thompson made a rare appearance in a big-budget Hollywood film when she played the head Agent in Men in Black 3 a continuation of the sci-fi comedy franchise starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin. With a worldwide gross of $624 million, MIB3 ranks as Thompson’s highest-grossing release outside of the Harry Potter films. This mainstream success continued with the Pixar film Brave, in which Thompson voiced Elinor the Scottish queen despairing at her daughter’s defiance against tradition. True to her word, the pair ended up getting in 2003 in Dunoon, Scotland, the same year the couple decided to adopt Agaba. Now nearing nearly three decades together, the pair seems to be going stronger and happier than ever.

Although Emma, Helena and Kenneth never appeared in scenes together, its impressive that the trio were able to put their past behind them to make the films a roaring success.
Emma has reportedly forgiven Helena – she told the Sunday Times she has “made her peace” with Helena and described her as a “wonderful woman”.
“You can’t hold on to anything like that, Emma said.
“It’s pointless. I haven’t got the energy for it.
“Helena and I made our peace years and years ago.”

Emma Thompson is finally speaking out about the reported affair that ended her six-year marriage to Kenneth Branagh.
Thompson and Branagh married in 1989, but announced their separation in 1995, citing their work schedules as the cause of the split. But rumors swirled claiming Branagh and his co-star Helena Bonham Carter had an affair, which ultimately affected his relationship with Thompson.
Thompson, now 54, opened up to U.K.’s Sunday Times about all the reports surrounding her divorce, admitting the break up is “all blood under the bridge.”
“You cant hold on to anything like that. Its pointless,” she explained. “I havent got the energy for it. Helena and I made our peace years and years ago.”
Branagh, now 52, and Carter, now 47, allegedly began their affair on the set of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” in 1994 and engaged in their own public relationship following his divorce from Thompson. They dated until 1999.
But Thompson, who married longtime love Greg Wise in 2003, has obviously moved on from the scandal and is now admitting that she can see why Branagh fell for Bonham Carter.
“Oh we are ,” the “Saving Mr. Banks” star said of her and the fellow actress, who is now married to director Tim Burton. “Being slightly mad and a bit fashion-challenged. Perhaps that’s why Ken loved us both. She’s a wonderful woman, Helena.”

Harry Potter Star Emma Thompson Wishes She Could Be In Star Wars
In recent years, shared universes and massive franchises have dominated the movie world, ultimately leading to some actors making appearances across multiple sagas. While actress Emma Thompson is mostly known for starring in various adaptations of Shakespeare plays, she’s no stranger to tentpole franchises, having starred in multiple entries in the Harry Potter and Men in Black series. These opportunities are sure to make any of her peers envious, yet there’s still another franchise that she wishes she could take part in. Thompson recently detailed how she wished she could be in a Star Wars movie and even joked about the role she’d gladly accept.
“My agent actually said to the last people who were making the last Star Wars, I get very confused because obviously there’s so many spinoff-y things, and they said, ‘Well, ya know, she’d be really interested in being in Star Wars,’ because I actually really like Star Wars, and they said no,” Thompson shared with WIRED. “I’m not in Star Wars because they don’t want me to be in Star Wars.”
As far as who she would play, the actress sounds open to taking on any role, no matter how small or how bizarre. Thompson’s co-star in the upcoming Late Night, Mindy Kaling, claimed that she would make for a good mentor character, but Thompson had another idea in mind.
“I could be Jabba the Hutt’s handmaiden, because he’s fun, it would be fun to be weird,” the actress joked. “I could squeeze those frogs for him.”

In an new interview with the USA Today newspaper, Emma Thompson describes working with Imelda Staunton, who plays the nasty Professor Umbridge in OotP.
After her debut as bespectacled Professor Sibyll Trelawney, teacher of divination, in 2004s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, she returns for next years Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
These parts are very rich and fun to play, she says. And, this time, she gets to face off against Imelda Staunton, her great friend who joins the cast as the reviled Dolores Umbridge, who takes over Hogwarts and fires Trelawney.
We were playing something that was very cross comedy and tragedy.
