Which Cast Members Are Returning For The Harry Potter Reunion

Warner Bros/HBO Max/Sky

Long-time Harry Potter fans will be thrilled to hear that stars Daniel Radcliffe , Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will join director Chris Columbus and other famous faces for the event.

Watson recently spoke out about the upcoming reunion, writing on Harry Potter was my home, my family, my world and Hermione my favourite fictional character of all time. I think a journalist once said it was irritating how many times during an interview I mentioned how lucky I was and started counting BUT I DAMN WELL KNEW!!! And still know.

Thank you to the fans that have continued to show their support well after the last chapter closed. The magic of the world wouldnt exist without you. Thank you for fighting to make it such an inclusive and loving place.

Other cast members due to return include Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Bonnie Wright, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and more.

Tom Felton of himself wearing a Slytherin jumper and a scarf with the house colours, alongside the caption: Back to school.

Feltons post sent fans wild, with one responding All the feels, while another added: Dont get put in detention! Who can blame them: after all, the reunion wouldnt be complete without Slytherins poster boy himself, Draco Malfoy, would it?

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire

its not a teen movie without a depressed-looking disco

If you dislike Robert Pattinson and wish to watch him die, then this is the Netflix movie for you! This is the point where the books and movies get really hectic and dark. The only bit of fun is the Triwizard Tournament because everyone loves a bit of competition, and also the Yule Ball which is the height of teen angst, but everything goes very much south at the end of the Tournament when Lord Voldemort gets involved and it turns out one of the teachers has been held captive in a suitcase for the good part of a year.

In 2000, after a seven-month search, lead actor Daniel Radcliffe was discovered by producer David Heyman and writer Steve Kloves seated just behind them in a theatre. In Heyman’s own words, “There sitting behind me was this boy with these big blue eyes. It was Dan Radcliffe. I remember my first impressions: He was curious and funny and so energetic. There was real generosity too, and sweetness. But at the same time he was really voracious and with hunger for knowledge of whatever kind.”

Radcliffe had already established himself as an actor in the 1999 BBC television production of David Copperfield in which he played the title role’s childhood years. Heyman persuaded Radcliffe’s parents to allow him to audition for the part of Harry Potter, which involved Radcliffe being filmed. Rowling was enthusiastic after viewing Radcliffe’s filmed test, saying she didn’t think there was a better choice for the part of Harry Potter.

Also in 2000, the then unknown British actors Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were selected from thousands of auditioning children to play the roles of Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively. Their only previous acting experience was in school plays. Grint was eleven years old and Watson ten at the time they were cast.

What Could Be In A Harry Potter TV Series ...

nice nose, can I have it

Finally, the dramatic conclusion. This movie raked in over $1 billion worldwide and I remember desperately needing a wee when the movie had about 30 min to go and I just held on, risking certain UTI so I could watch it all play out. Theres so many heroes in this story, not just Harry from Severus Snape to Molly Weasley to of course, Neville Longbottom . Youll cry 1000 tears in this movie but its so cathartic.

Now once youve worked your way through all the Harry Potter movies on Netflix and re-read all the books , then I highly recommend listening to the Audible audiobooks narrated by Stephen Fry. Such a treat for your earholes.

Harry Potter Movies In Order Of Chronological Events

‘Harry Potter’ TV Series in Early Development at HBO Max | THR News

Now, here’s where things get slightly tricky. The Fantastic Beasts films are prequels, so they take place decades before the events of the original Harry Potter movies.

Those take place during Harry’s time at Hogwarts, so each book/movie corresponds to a school year. The final two movies split the final book and school year.

Here’s the list of Harry Potter movies and the year in which they are set:

  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
  • Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
  • Fantastic Beasts 3 is likely to be set right after the second film in that series and before the events of Sorcerer’s Stone.

And if the Harry Potter stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is made into a movie, it would fall at the end of both the release order and chronological order since it’s set circa 2017.

How To Watch Harry Potter Movies In Order

Everyone came into the Wizarding World through the Harry Potter books and movies, which introduced us to a gifted 11-year-old, his friends Ron and Hermione, and their hallowed school of magic, Hogwarts. Watching the Harry Potter movies in order, seeing the story unfold chronologically in-universe, used to be as easy as finding the one where Daniel Radcliffe looks youngest and starting from there.

But the series has expanded now with the Fantastic Beasts movies, set some 70 years before The Sorcerers Stone. So to watch the Harry Potter movies in order, your journey now begins with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, set in 1926 and starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scarmander. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is set in 1927. The third Fantastic Beasts intends to release July 2022, with two more movies to close out the Scarmander and Grindelwald saga.

Then the story of Harry himself begins, starting with Sorcerers Stone and concluding in the second-part of The Deathly Hallows, for eight Certified Fresh movies in a row. Theres also a Harry Potter series early in development for HBO Max. For now, see our guide below on how to watch all Harry Potter movies in order.

Rowling has said it is unlikely she will write any more books in the Harry Potter series. In October 2007, she stated that her future work was unlikely to be in the fantasy genre. On 1 October 2010, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rowling stated a new book on the saga might happen.

In 2007, Rowling stated that she planned to write an encyclopaedia of Harry Potter‘s wizarding world consisting of various unpublished material and notes. Any profits from such a book would be given to charity. During a news conference at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre in 2007, Rowling, when asked how the encyclopaedia was coming along, said, “It’s not coming along, and I haven’t started writing it. I never said it was the next thing I’d do.” At the end of 2007, Rowling said that the encyclopaedia could take up to ten years to complete.

In June 2011, Rowling announced that future Harry Potter projects, and all electronic downloads, would be concentrated in a new website, called Pottermore. The site includes 18,000 words of information on characters, places and objects in the Harry Potter universe.

Harry Potter is an endlessly fascinating hit franchise. The ever-expanding wizarding world has inspired web hubs, theme parks, and, probably most importantly, movies, even as author J.K. Rowling has become an incredibly problematic figure. When Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone got the big-screen treatment in 2001 with director Chris Columbus, writer Steve Kloves, and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, the story of the boy with the lightning-bolt scar got a second, more potent life by making all of the book’s fantastical magic, hidden worlds, and incredible creatures “real.” Sorcerer’s Stone grossed almost $1 billion worldwide and created a hunger for more Potter experiences, justifying successful adaptations , spinoff prequels about fantastic beasts, and potentially an original TV series.

Maybe years ago, you bought coveted DVD collections, but those might be lost somewhere at your parents’ house. In the age of streaming, you’d probably much rather watch the movies online somewhere when you need a fix. Here’s where you can currently satisfy your Potter craving.

Harry Potter Christmas Tv Specials Will See Stars Reunite

Harry Potter TV Show Rumors Are Fake News

Newly-filmed TV specials will see Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint reunite with a host of other celebrities to celebrate all things Harry Potter

Harry Potter fans will have something extra to celebrate this Christmas, with not one but two separate specials celebrating the boy wizard due to air over the festive period exclusively on Sky and Now TV.

Acting legend Helen Mirren is one of a small number of iconic British actors not to take a role in one of the eight Harry Potter films.

But she is joining the franchise now – heading up a four part competition which will see fans of the Wizarding World put their magical knowledge to the test to become House Cup Champion.

Airing on December 29, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses will feature hundreds of trivia questions and special guests – making it ideal for fans of all things Potter to play along at home.

Meanwhile, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts airs on New Year’s Day and marks two decades since the release of the first film of the iconic series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

    Where Was It Filmed

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts was filmed on the actual sets of the Harry Potter movies which now form the Warner Bros Studio Tour London The Making of Harry Potter exhibition at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire.

All eight movies were filmed at Leavesden, and after the final film in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, was completed, work began on organising the sets, props and costumes from the series into an exhibition. The tour opened in March 2012 and thousands of fans have walked through Hogwarts Great Hall, down Diagon Alley and into Gringotts Bank ever since.

Much of the reunion was filmed on these original sets Radcliffe, Watson and Grint reminisce in the Gryffindor common room, for instance, and the cast and crew assemble in the Great Hall just as they did on their first day at Hogwarts.

How To Watch Harry Potter Movies In Chronological Order

But youre a card-carrying Potterhead, right? So youre keen to watch these films properly, and in their chronological order. So heres how you can do that, and heres where to stream each film.

Netflix and Disney Plus subscribers might be disappointed that none of these films is featured on either service, but they can be found elsewhere.

The good news for Potter fans is that theres no need to spend ages searching for each film on different streaming services. All the Harry Potter films are available on Sky as a boxset now. You can be lining up Harry, Hermione and Rons best scenes quicker than you can say accio! Well, almost.

Sky Cinema currently costs £11 extra a month, but Sky is fond of a TV package, so we would always suggest you check Sky deals before signing up for anything. Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2 are on Sky Cinema now. If you are not a Sky customer, you can also watch on NOW TV.
