Are The Harry Potter Movies On Peacock Or Hbo Max

How Much MONEY Did the Harry Potter Films Make? (2001 – 2018)

Wait, didn’t Peacock have the Harry Potter movies? Or was it HBO Max? Yes, they have swapped ownership of the franchise since they both launched. Currently , both services are streaming all Harry Potter movies.

HBO Max streamed the Harry Potter movies when it launched in summer 2020. See, WarnerMedia owns the Harry Potter film franchise. However, the corporation sold the broadcast and cable rights to NBCUniversal, which owns Peacock. But WarnerMedia borrowed them back likely for a hefty fee so that its new streaming service could launch with some big titles.

Then, the Harry Potter movies moved back to Peacock, where they streamed on and off through 2021. They returned to HBO Max over the summer. In October, both streamers have them.

And then who knows what will happen in 2025, when NBCUniversal’s TV rights lapse.

As writer Jess Mason joked on , “Harry Potter is like the child of a divorce where the parents are Universal and Warner Bros and the franchise just keeps being pulled to different homes.”

So many streaming services, all fighting over the same valuable IP.

How Long Does It Take To Watch The Harry Potter Movies

The following information comes directly from everyones favorite virtual assistant :

It takes 19 hours and 39 minutes to watch all seven of the Harry Potter movies back to back. And thats if you could somehow watch them without stopping for snack and potty breaks, to change the movies, or to sleep.

Thats why most people break the movies into week-long movie marathons. In my family, we incorporate them into our Christmas tradition. We watch them every year over our Christmas break, as thats the only time we are all off work and out of school together at the same time.

However you choose to watch the Harry Potter movies or read the Harry Potter books make sure that you carve out a significant chunk of time to do it because it isnt something you can easily accomplish in a single sitting.

All The Harry Potter Movies In Order From Sorcerer’s Stone To Fantastic Beasts

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson became instant stars because of the Harry Potter movies. These films broke box office records, received many award accolades, and left their mark on pop culture forever. I, like many, grew up reading the Harry Potter books, and then spent years watching, and criticizing, the movies. I also have gotten into the Fantastic Beasts series . A great thing about the Harry Potter books and movies is their timelessness. Constantly, new people discover and fall in love with them. For those new to the world of Harry, this one’s for you: a list of all the Harry Potter movies in order of their release, including the Fantastic Beast movies.

These films arent placed in order of actual events, because who cares about accuracy, but in order of theatrical release. If you’re new to the series, you’ll want to watch them in this order the first time through…

Home Market Releases For March 28th 2017

Its a good week for Pick of the Week contenders, as there are seven such releases on this weeks list. Unfortunately, none of them really scream out as The Pick of the Week. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is by far the biggest, but it is only out on Video on Demandright now, while Hidden Figures is the best, but again, it is only on VOD this week. There are also a couple of busted Oscar-bait films, Archer: Season Seven is only getting a DVD release, while the previous seasons came out on Blu-ray. In the end, I went with Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume XXXVIII, partially to celebrate the return of the show. More…

Weekend Estimates: Batman V Superman Hits March Record $170 Milion

Batman and Superman not only had to fight each other this weekend, but also mediocre reviews. They have come through in some style, however, posting a record for March of $170.1 million, according to Warner Bros. Sunday morning estimate. Our model has the film coming a little below that mark, at $165 million or so, which might mean it wont quite top Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part IIs $169 million, which is currently the studios best ever weekend. But the fact that were comparing the movie to the Harry Potter franchise is nothing but good news for them.More…

Weekend Prediction: Is Grindelwald Committing Crimes Against The Harry Potter Franchise

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the latest installment in the Harry Potter franchise, but sadly, its reviews are, by far, the worst in the franchise. It should still have no trouble earning first place and will very likely break even just on its international numbers, but this is still troubling for its future. The second biggest release of the week is Instant Family and its reviews are good, but not great. They are certainly fine for a family comedy. Widows is the best-reviewed new release, but its buzz is quiet enough that it will barely finish in the top five. Meanwhile, A Private War is expanding nationwide and that could help it earn a spot in the top ten, but I wouldnt bet on it. This weekend last year, Justice League opened with $93.84 million, while Wonder debuted in second place with $27.55 million. Add in The Stars $9.81 million opening and the three wide releases pulled in $130 million. Theres no way the new releases this year will match that and 2018 will likely lose in the year-over-year comparison. More…

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald The Original Screenplay

The cover was planned to match the theme of the second film, with the Eiffel Tower portraying the films main location, Paris.

In line with the first films continuation, a Niffler and Bowtruckle emerge.

The Deathly Hallows symbol represents Gellert Grindelwald, and the significance of a locket with the letters NF, a piece of jewelry, and a skull is unknown.

The initials NF could stand for Nicolas Flamel. In the end, theres even what seems to be Grindelwalds skull-hookah.

How To Watch Harry Potter Movies Online

Since September 1, all eight of the Harry Potter movies are available to stream on HBO Max in the US which is hardly surprising, seeing as the Warner Bros-owned streaming platform will consider the hit franchise as an excellent way to attract new subscribers. The movies were previously available via the Peacock service, though, and you can also rent or buy the series on services like Amazon.

In the UK, you can’t currently stream the Harry Potter movies, but you can rent or buy them on Amazon, iTunes and more. HBO Max is expected to launch on British shores soon, but we’re unsure when that’ll be The complete Harry Potter series is also available on Blu-Ray.

Meanwhile, the two Fantastic Beasts movies aren’t currently streaming in the US or the UK.

Harry Potter Movies In Order Of Chronological Events

Now, here’s where things get slightly tricky. The Fantastic Beasts films are prequels, so they take place decades before the events of the original Harry Potter movies.

Those take place during Harry’s time at Hogwarts, so each book/movie corresponds to a school year. The final two movies split the final book and school year.

Here’s the list of Harry Potter movies and the year in which they are set:

  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
  • Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
  • Fantastic Beasts 3 is likely to be set right after the second film in that series and before the events of Sorcerer’s Stone.

And if the Harry Potter stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is made into a movie, it would fall at the end of both the release order and chronological order since it’s set circa 2017.

In 2000, after a seven-month search, lead actor Daniel Radcliffe was discovered by producer David Heyman and writer Steve Kloves seated just behind them in a theatre. In Heyman’s own words, “There sitting behind me was this boy with these big blue eyes. It was Dan Radcliffe. I remember my first impressions: He was curious and funny and so energetic. There was real generosity too, and sweetness. But at the same time he was really voracious and with hunger for knowledge of whatever kind.”

Radcliffe had already established himself as an actor in the 1999 BBC television production of David Copperfield in which he played the title role’s childhood years. Heyman persuaded Radcliffe’s parents to allow him to audition for the part of Harry Potter, which involved Radcliffe being filmed. Rowling was enthusiastic after viewing Radcliffe’s filmed test, saying she didn’t think there was a better choice for the part of Harry Potter.

Also in 2000, the then unknown British actors Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were selected from thousands of auditioning children to play the roles of Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively. Their only previous acting experience was in school plays. Grint was eleven years old and Watson ten at the time they were cast.
