Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenixrating & Content Info

What is the Best Harry Potter Movie? – HARRY POTTER FIGHTS!

Why is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix rated PG-13?Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images.

Theres been a lot of discussion about the Potter series growing darker, and certainly in tone and mood this film fulfills that prophecy. However, in our content categories, this one comes up with better grades than the two previous outings. Violence is the greatest concern, with a jump scene and other visions of ghost-like characters and odd-looking creatures that will certainly frighten young children. The death of a character is discussed, and we see a bloodied face in a few quick flashbacks. All other violence is through magic manipulation and people being shocked or knocked over by metaphysical forces. At times characters disintegrate or disappear in a beam me up Scotty type of effect, but nothing gruesome. Sexual content is limited to a single kiss, with absolutely no other activity seen before, during or after. Language includes one mild expletive and another word that is somewhat more objectionable in North America than Britain. Parents sensitive to depictions of occult and satanic-like themes may not find this film suitable for their children.

The Woes Of Mrs Weasley

  • Harry does not dump his bag of Galleons into the Fountain of Magical Brethren following the positive results of his trial.
  • In the film, Harry encounters Lucius Malfoy before his trial, not after, but they also do not confront each other and speak with mutual hatred.
  • In the book, Mad-Eye Moody shows Harry a picture of the original Order of the Phoenix in No. 12 Grimmauld Place. In the film, Sirius shows him the picture in a back room at King’s Cross.
  • Harry and the others cleaning Grimmauld Place is omitted, and as such, Harry going to the hearing occurs the day after he arrives at Grimmauld Place, and after the hearing Harry is next seen at King’s Cross to go back to Hogwarts. This omission also removes the event involving the discovery of Salazar Slytherin’s locket, which does not prove to be important until the 7th book and film.
  • In the book, there is a scene during the party at 12 Grimmauld Place where we see Mrs Weasley attempting to excise a Boggart from one of the dressers upstairs. Therefore, it is not revealed that Mrs Weasley’s worst fear is that her family will die.
  • Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley becoming prefects is omitted from the final cut of the film. In the film, Harry goes with Ron and Hermione on the Hogwarts Express, implying they did not become prefects, as in the book, he went with Neville, Ginny and Luna Lovegood as Ron and Hermione sat in the prefects carriage . This storyline was filmed, however.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone

Harry Potter is an orphaned boy brought up by his unkind Muggle aunt and uncle. At the age of eleven, half-giant Rubeus Hagrid informs him that he is actually a wizard and that his parents were murdered by an evil wizard named Lord Voldemort. Voldemort also attempted to kill one-year-old Harry on the same night, but his killing curse mysteriously rebounded and reduced him to a weak and helpless form. Harry became extremely famous in the Wizarding World as a result. Harry begins his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and learns about magic. During the year, Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger become entangled in the mystery of the Philosopher’s Stone which is being kept within the school.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Set In 1998

Where the two final parts of the Potter film series differ massively is pace. Part I moves at a steady, somber, deliberate pace, while the second part moves at breakneck speed, making the final product all the more impressive.

This movie kicks off where the last one ended in 1998, with the famous Battle of Hogwarts. There are definitely issues in the film to many fans, but overall it is a satisfying, powerful, and emotional end to a cinematic journey millions of people took together.

Who Finds The Room Of Requirement For The Da

Dobby doesn’t appear in the film adaptation of The Order of the Phoenix, but in the book, he’s the one to tell Harry about the Room of Requirement. The Room of Requirement helps Dobby treat Winky whenever she becomes inebriated from drinking too much Butterbeer.

The film shows Neville stumbling upon the Room of Requirement instead. The end result is the same, though, as the Room of Requirements becomes the secret headquarters and practice area for Dumbledore’s Army.

In the current world where pop culture is at its height popularity-wise, there are a handful of cinematic franchises that make up a huge chunk of the zeitgeist, with armies of loyal followers and an insane amount of conversation surrounding them. One of these franchises, alongside the likes of the MCU and Star Wars, is the fantastical British phenomenon, Harry Potter.

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone

Considering most of the characters are 11 years old, it’s unsurprising that Sorcerer’s Stone is a scare-free affair. There are a few moments that are appropriately scary for young children, such as Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s encounters with the troll and Fluffy, but nothing too nightmarish.

There are a few potential exceptions. The scene in which Harry ventures into the Forbidden Forest and first encounters Voldemort has you on the edge of your seat, especially when the latter swoops up towards Harry and is only stopped at the last moment. Quirrell unwrapping his turban to reveal Voldemort’s face is also unnerving mainly because it’s so unexpected.

    The Sorting Hat’s New Song

    • Despite the title of the chapter, the Sorting Hat does not appear in the film , much less does it sing .
    • The Creevey brothers are not featured in the film. However, the character Nigel Wolpert, who is not in the books seems to serve as a replacement.

    Seamus and Harry fighting

    • In the book, Harry and Seamus have their argument in the Gryffindor boys’ dormitory in front of Dean Thomas and Neville before Ron enters and tells Seamus off. In the film, Harry and Seamus argue in the Gryffindor Common Room in front of all the boys and girls before Ron enters. Also, in the film, there is no mention of Harry and Ron having met Mrs Finnigan since she was omitted from the previous film.
    • It is shown in the book when Ron comes to break up the fight between Seamus Finnigan and Harry Potter he says he is a prefect and nobody should mess around. However in the film he just says that the fight should stop.
    • Also, Umbridge wears a green tweed cloak and uniform black bow in some parts of the book, but in all the film except Harry’s hearing, she wears pink cardigans.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Set In 1997/98

The first of the main Potter movies to not be set at all at Hogwarts, Deathly Hallows: Part I is a slower movie and calls for some patience from the audience who are eagerly anticipating the climax.

It takes place across what would be Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s final year at Hogwarts, moving into the first half of 1998. It does, at times, feel like a stepping stone to get to the next film, but it has so much great stuff in its own right and is a good watch for those who are fans of the films when paired with the finale.

    The Order Of The Phoenix

    • Nymphadora Tonks changes her hair into violet, bubblegum pink, tomato-red, grey and blonde. Also, in the book, her main colour of hair is bubble-gum pink, but in the film it is switched to purple and it stays that way throughout the film. This suggests in the film, her hair changes colour when she is feeling a particularly strong emotion.

There, he meets the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge. It’s obvious that Umbridge and the Ministry of Magic don’t want Hogwarts students learning any actual defensive spells.

When Harry protests that they might need to learn how to defend themselves against dark magic because, well, you know, Voldemort is back, Umbridge punishes him by making him carve words into his own hand with a torturous quill.
