Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Voldemort furthers his quest for ultimate power. He disposes of the Minister for Magic and replaces him with Pius Thicknesse, who is under the Imperius Curse. Establishing a totalitarianpolice state, he has Muggle-borns persecuted and arrested for “stealing magic” from the “pure blood” wizards. After failing to kill Harry with Draco’s father Lucius Malfoy‘s borrowed wand , he goes on a murderous search for the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand ever created, seeing it as the weapon he needs to overcome Harry’s wand and make him truly invincible. He goes on a quest that takes him out of the country to Gregorovitch‘s wand shop, where he kills the old wandmaker. His journey also takes him to Nurmengard, the prison where Gellert Grindelwald is kept, and he kills Grindelwald as well. He finally locates the Elder Wand and steals it from Dumbledore’s tomb.
Rowling stated that after his death, Voldemort is forced to exist in the stunted infant-like form that Harry sees in the King’s Cross-like Limbo after his confrontation with Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest. Rowling also mentioned that, despite his extreme fear of death, he cannot become a ghost.
Why Does Voldemort Want The Prophecy
Death is the ultimate power, and prophecy is the maximum power. Voldemort may not know it yet, but the prophecy is his supreme power. The prophecy will give Voldemort everything he has ever wanted, and it will be the ultimate tool in his quest to take over the world. Voldemort may not be able to kill Harry with a single curse, but the prophecy will make it easy for him to get rid of him. The prophecy is like a power that can be used against Harry.
To understand why Voldemort wants the prophecy, it is essential to understand what is written and why Voldemort wants it.
The forecast talks about the one who will have the power to defeat the Dark Lord. It talks about the one who will have the ability to destroy the Dark Lord. The prophecy talks about the one who has the power to defeat death itself. It talks about the one who has the power to conquer the Dark Lord and his followers. The prophecy talks about the one who can end the Dark Lords reign of terror. This prophecy is talking about Harry Potter.

Main Article: Prophecy Record
A Prophecy Record was a spun-glass, spherical object used to record a prophecy. The orbs contained swirling mist and were kept in the Hall of Prophecies inside the Department of Mysteries. Many were subsequently destroyed in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. Only those mentioned in the Prophecy could remove the record from the Hall.

These knocked over the shelves while the students fled and were pursued. At least one Death Eater, Nott, was injured by the collapsing shelves, since he had been stunned by Hermione. It is possible that as a result, all of the prophecies in the hall were destroyed.
What was the first prophecy in Harry Potter? Trelawneys first known prophecy was witnessed by Albus Dumbledore in 1980, foretelling the birth of a boy who would be capable though not assured of defeating Lord Voldemort, that Voldemort would mark him as his equal, and that either the boy or Voldemort would ultimately kill the other.

Why Did Voldemort Kill James And Lily Potter
So if Voldemort was after Harry, why did he kill James and Lily? Especially James, since he was a pureblood wizard, which Voldemort held to a high standard. Basically, what it came down to was that Voldemort had made up his mind to kill Harry, and they got in the way.
Once Voldemort learned of the prophecy and who his possible enemies could be, he made his choice based on who he thought was a more significant threat to him. He wanted to kill Harry to eliminate the threat against him, but he never intentionally set out to kill James and Lily.
However, Harry was only a baby when Voldemort went after him. So, of course, when the Dark Lord showed up trying to kill their infant son, James and Lily fought back with everything had-including their own lives.

What Powers Did Harry Possess That Voldemort Lacked
The first power that Harry possessed that Voldemort lacked was the love from his family and friends. In the end, its what ultimately saved him. The second power that Harry had that Voldemort didnt was love.
When Voldemort was at his weakest, he tried to destroy Harry, but it was his downfall. And finally, the third power that Harry had over Voldemort was conscience.
Its what saved him from using a deadly curse on a baby, and its what stopped him from killing Harry when he needed his blood to live.
Destruction Of The Prophecy Record
- Main article:Battle of the Department of Mysteries
- Harry Potter: “So he wanted me to come and get it, did he? Why?”
- Lucius Malfoy: “Why? Because the only people who are permitted to retrieve a prophecy from the Department of Mysteries, Potter, are those about whom it was made, as the Dark Lord discovered when he attempted to use others to steal it for him.”
- Harry Potter: “And why did he want to steal a prophecy about me?”
- Lucius Malfoy: “About both of you, Potter, about both of you … Havent you ever wondered why the Dark Lord tried to kill you as a baby?”
- Lucius Malfoy explaining the importance of the prophecy to Harry Potter
Voldemort greatly desired to hear the full prophecy, believing it would give him the information to avoid his fate and destroy Harry, but the only people who could retrieve the prophecy record from the Hall of Prophecy in the Ministry of Magic‘s Department of Mysteries were either Harry or Voldemort himself .

What If Voldemort Chose Neville
If Neville Had Been The Chosen One, he would have made Herbology as cool as Quidditch. … If Neville Had Been The Chosen One, he still would have defeated Voldemort in his first and second year at Hogwarts because getting through all of that pretty much came down to blind luck and Hermione’s logic for Harry.
When She Predicted The Rebirth Of Voldemort
Its a real shame for Trelawney that, on the rare occasions she predicted a hugely important prophecy, she promptly forgot all about it and went back to seeing Grims in teacups.
Harrys Divination exam was a classic example. Much to his concern, his teacher went into a strange fugue and foretold that the servant would set out to rejoin his master, and the Dark Lord would rise, greater and more terrible than ever before.
It may have sounded pretty grandiose and unbelievable, and even Trelawney herself dismissed it as far-fetched but she had, in fact, done it again. Peter Pettigrew did indeed reunite with Voldemort, and assisted him in his rebirth, where he used Harrys blood to restore the Dark wizard to power.
When it came to Lord Voldemort, Trelawneys inner eye always had him covered.

Magical Abilities And Skills
Rowling establishes Voldemort throughout the series as an extremely powerful, intelligent, and ruthless dark wizard, described as the greatest and most powerful Dark Wizard of all time. He is known as one of the greatest Legilimens in the world and a highly accomplished Occlumens he can read minds and shield his own from penetration. Besides Dumbledore, he is also the only wizard ever known to be able to apparate silently. Voldemort was also said to fear one wizard alone, Dumbledore.
On her website, Rowling wrote that Voldemort’s wand is made of yew, whose sap is poisonous and which symbolises death. It forms a deliberate contrast to Harry’s wand, which is made of holly, which she chose because holly is alleged to repel evil.
Rowling establishes in the books that Voldemort is magically connected to Harry via Harry’s forehead scar. He disembodies himself when his Killing Curse targeting Harry rebounds on him, leaving the scar on Harry’s forehead. In the books, and to a lesser extent in the films, Harry’s scar serves as an indicator of Voldemort’s presence: it burns when the Dark Lord is near or when Voldemort is feeling murderous or exultant. According to Rowling, by attacking Harry when he was a baby Voldemort gave him “tools no other wizard possessedthe scar and the ability it conferred, a magical window into Voldemort’s mind”.
When She Mentioned A Lightning
When Harry overheard Professor Trelawney muttering to herself and shuffling her cards, he didnt think much of it. But pay attention to her seemingly pointless ramblings, as they seem to be distressingly accurate. Professor Trelawney was agitated because Dumbledore wouldnt heed her warnings of approaching doom.
She repeatedly saw the lightning-struck tower. Calamity. Disaster. Coming nearer all the time.
Alone, these utterances dont hold much significance… but when Dumbledore was hit by the Killing Curse at the top of the Astronomy Tower mere hours later, everything suddenly slotted together.

Why Is Snape The Half
His father was a muggle. Snape was a half-blood, born to a Muggle father named Tobias Snape and a witch mother named Eileen Prince. … At some point during his school years, he decided to reject his father’s name entirely, giving himself the moniker “The Half-Blood Prince” with his mother’s maiden name instead.
Why Did Voldemort Go After Harry Potter Instead Of Neville Longbottom
This is where the part of the prophecy comes into play in which Voldemort chooses his enemy. He could have easily gone after the Longbottom family, but instead, he decided on the Potters. Why?
For one thing, Voldemort despised anyone who wasnt a pure-born wizard. He viewed them as weak and pathetic. Though both of his parents possessed magic, Harry was only a half-blood wizard. Although his father, James, was pureblood, Harrys mother Lily was a muggle-born, meaning her parents were muggles.
But, Voldemort himself was only a half-blood wizard, which was crazy since he wanted to eradicate anyone who wasnt a pureblood. But his own anger at being a half-blood wizard is a lot of what fueled that decision, and he ended up becoming one of the most powerful wizards in the wizarding world.
Neville Longbottom was a pureblood wizard born to pureblood parents. He was born at the time the prophecy claimed, the end of July. And his parents had directly defied Voldemort three times.
However, Voldemort saw part of himself in Harry, which angered him and made him hate Harry even more. He was also terrified that if he could become the great wizard that he was while being a half-blood, then Harry could become even greater and would be the one to defeat him.
Therefore, the Dark Lord saw Harry as the more significant threat out of the two and decided that he would kill him before Harry got the chance to defeat him.

Right: That He Would Be Remembered As A Great Wizard
It was clear much before his hard-hitting fight with Albus Dumbledore that Voldemort had achieved his goal of being remembered forever by the wizarding world. Ever since he was a child, he knew he was destined for great things and had no doubt he was better than the rest.
Even the likes of Dumbledore acknowledged him as an exceptionally powerful wizard who had learned things about magic virtually no one else had. As Ol.ivander put it, Voldemort did go on to do great things. Terrible, yes, but great.
Who Was The Chosen One In Harry Potter
Snape was very stimated by Voldemort, so, he decided to spare the life of a muggleborn, even when he despised them very much. Harry is called the Chosen One because Voldemort chose him to be the one who could defeat him.
Who is the true Chosen One?
George Lucas himself has stated that Anakin is the Chosen One and that the prophecy is true, although it had been misinterpreted by the entire Jedi Order.
Who was the chosen one in the Bible? The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession . Later, when Yahweh establishes David as king, David reflects Yahwehs special relationship with the nation of Israel by recounting their rescue from slavery.
Where did the chosen one prophecy come from? Origin. An ancient Jedi prophecy foretold that the Chosen One would bring balance to the Force by destroying the Sith. An ancient Jedi prophecy, made by an ancient Jedi mystic and recorded on a holocron, foretold that the Chosen One would restore balance to the Force by destroying the Sith.

Why Did Voldemort Want To Kill Harry Potter
After so many years, books, and movies, we still cant help but wonder why? Why Harry? Why was he the chosen one and why was he so important to Voldemort? Harry played a key role in Voldemorts diabolical comeback plan in The Goblet of Fire, and we cant forget he was the one who needed to die in order to destroy Voldemort. But Voldemort didnt know about this. So why did Voldemort want to kill Harry so badly?
Voldemort wanted to kill Harry Potter because of a prophecy that claimed there was a boy whose powers will be the end of Voldemort. It wasnt clear if that child was Harry Potter or Neville Longbottom. However, Voldemort chose Harry since they shared a similar past and was convinced he was his mortal enemy.
But the story of the prophecy is so interesting and you will only know it if you have read the books. In the movies, we never discover Neville could have been the chosen one and we never witness the scene where professor Sybil Trelawney tells the prophecy. So keep reading if you wish to find out more about this famous rivalry and how it began!
Why Did Voldemort Think The Prophecy Was About Harry
Voldemort went to kill Harry Potter because Harry filled the requirements of the Prophecy. Voldemort also had the choice of Neville Longbottom, but he chooses Harry to kill because Harry is a Half-Blood, like Voldemort, where as Neville was a Pure-Blood. Voldemort saw Harry as a greater risk that Neville.

Harry Potter: 5 Things Voldemort Was Right About
In Harry Potter, Lord Voldemort was a savvy antagonist who almost took over the wizarding world. But the villainous Dark Lord wasn’t always correct.
The main antagonist in the Harry Potter series was never a Seer, but the intense arrogance with which he carried himself made him believe he had the future predicted a future in which he reigned supreme. Voldemort does deserve credit, however, seeing as he was successful in many other ventures due to his ability to understand certain aspects of humanity.
Overall, the Dark Lord managed to bolster his powerful position with the perfect execution of many plans, which came about from the accurate beliefs he had about things that benefitted. On the flip side, he ended up losing because his hubris didnt allow him to consider that he could be wrong.
His Own Worst Enemy: Harry As A Horcrux
His Own Worst Enemy: Harry as a Horcrux
“Unless I’m much mistaken, he transferred some of his own powers to you the night he gave you that scar, Not something he intended to do, I’m sure…”
“Voldemort put a bit of himself in me?” Harry said, thunderstruck.
“It certainly seems so.” 1
Well, that pretty much clears it up for me. Dumbledore thinks Voldemort put a bit of himself into Harry. This tells me that Harry is a Horcrux and an unintentional one at that. Although this clears it up for me, however, there are many legitimate questions that those, who do not agree with this theory, pose. A few that come to mind are “Are you nuts, where’s your proof?!” “You can’t make a Horcrux by accident, so how is it possible to make an unintentional Horcrux?” Possibly, the most significant of these questions is, “If Harry is a Horcrux he has to destroy himself. How can he do that and be alive to kill Voldemort?” In this essay I will attempt to answer each of these questions in turn, provide evidence that Harry is a Horcrux, and with a little speculation, try to reconstruct the events that resulted in his becoming one.
Are you nuts, where’s your proof?!
In regards to that first part, yes as a matter of fact I’m mad as a hatter, thank you very much. As to the second part of the question I cannot claim to have proof otherwise the Harrycrux debate would not exist. I can, however, explore what I believe to be strong evidence.
The Proof is in the Prophecy:
