The Woman In Black
In a 1913 Rolls-Royce driven by actor Ciarán Hinds, Radcliffe comes puttering along a causeway. It covers the 1.4 kilometres of tidal salt marsh separating the Southeast English mainland from 380-acre Osea Island. Even in bright autumnal daylight, it’s spooky. A fitting location for The Woman In Black, the 1983 horror novel being made into a film by the revived Hammer studio.
Radcliffe – playing an anguished widower haunted by images of his dead wife – is finished for the day. We repair to his trailer at unit base . We enjoy set catering: a Flake , a Star Bar . By his bunk: a tattered paperback of The Good Soldier vejk by Jaroslav Haek.
In two weeks he’s shot what would have taken six weeks on Potter. “I’m not used to this pace. For me it’s electric,” he says with a jangly excitement, tugging on a Camel Blue, adding that his biggest thrill of working on this nimble, artsy production has been learning the technicalities of film-making from director James Watkins.
He’s answering fan mail. Some have come from the Hammer office in London, some turn up at his parents’ home – the more ardent Pottermaniacs “have had the address for years”. One guy “adopted my mum as his surrogate mother”. He receives letters asking for bits of his hair, and baby photos. He’s been sent snaps of himself on the red carpet at various premieres accompanying notes include, “Did you have an erection in this picture?”

After “Harry Potter” wrapped, Bradley went on to appear in “Captain America: The First Avenger” , “The World’s End” , “The Lodgers” , and “Jolt” .
But much of his work is still on TV.
Aside from “Harry Potter,” Bradley is probably best known for playing Walder Frey on the hit HBO series “Game of Thrones.” He also appeared on several other series, including BBC’s “Prisoners’ Wives,” BBC America’s “Doctor Who,” and BBC’s “Les Misérables.”

Political And Social Views
Politically, Radcliffe is a supporter of the Labour Party. He previously supported the Liberal Democrats, and in the 2010 general election he endorsed Nick Clegg, the party’s leader. In 2012, however, he switched his allegiance to the Labour Party, citing disillusionment over the performance of Clegg and the Liberal Democrats in government, and approving of the Labour leader, Ed Miliband. In 2015, Radcliffe endorsed Jeremy Corbyn‘s campaign in the Labour Party leadership election. He told The Big Issue, “I feel like this show of sincerity by a man who has been around long enough and stuck to his beliefs long enough that he knows them and doesn’t have to be scripted is what is making people sit up and get excited. It is great.”
Radcliffe is a supporter of a British republic. He is also a supporter of British unionism. When asked about the 2014 Scottish independence referendum, he said, “I personally like the U.K. being how it is”.
On Using Alcohol To Deal With Fame
Despite how normal and down-to-earth Daniel Radcliffe can seem, the fact is that he’s had anything but a normal life. As one of the most famous faces on the planet before even hitting puberty, Radcliffe had to deal with the constant public scrutiny his job as a blockbuster actor entailed. While the actor has done a commendable job dealing with the fame, there was a time when he felt the need to rely on alcohol to get him through the tough times.
“The quickest way of forgetting about the fact that you were being watched was to get very drunk,” Radcliffe explained during an interview for Off Camera with Sam Jones. “Then as you get very drunk, you become aware that, ‘Oh, people are watching more now because now I’m getting very drunk, so I should probably drink more to ignore that more.'”
Radcliffe’s dependence on alcohol spiraled out of control at one point, and he credits his close friends with helping him come out of the tunnel at the other end with a much stronger control over his use. Despite the issues the fame caused, Radcliffe has stated that he ultimately does not regret the role of Harry Potter.

Bonham Carter Regrets Getting So Wrapped Up In Her Character That She Accidentally Injured A Castmate
While playing Bellatrix Lestrange, Bonham Carter had to physically threaten Matthew Lewis , but the scene didn’t go as planned.
“By mistake, I poked him in his ear,” she told EW in 2007. “I thought I could brandish the wand like a sort of Q-tip, and clean out his ear. Sort of torture it. But unfortunately he moved toward the wand as I was prodding it. And it actually perforated his eardrum.”
The injury even caused some internal bleeding, but Bonham Carter said that Lewis never admitted that to her because he was such a “nice young man.”

“I used to find the most exhausting thing was wearing those hats,” she said. “They’re the heaviest things in the world. I had a hat, it was like the Albert Hall, it was huge and so heavy.”
The actress continued, “I was in the snow for about a week with that daft hat on my head for ‘Harry Potter’ and sitting in that trailer day after day and not being used that doesn’t make you feel too jolly.”

Im a little biased as they say, because this sixth film is based on one of my favorite books in the series, and yet seems to omit the very things that make the book pop. We get almost no origins of Voldemort material and very little in terms of Snapes backstory, instead saving that for one long montage in the final picture. Moreover, and this is not necessarily a criticism (because it works for this adaptation, but the film painfully telegraphs what in the book was a jaw-dropping plot twist. Even with an overindulgence in hormonal hijinks, this one still works as a visual differentiation while Tom Feltons Malfoy shines as a young man tortured by the implications of actually doing evil as opposed to merely being evil.

In 2020, Bonnie Wright sat down with her on-screen brothers, James and Oliver Phelps , on an episode of their podcast “Double Trouble” .
While discussing fond memories from “Harry Potter,” Wright said she liked filming the Dumbledore’s Army scenes in the fifth movie, despite the fact that the Room of Requirements set was physically uncomfortable.
“I liked it, and then I got really claustrophobic in it … Towards the end, it was too many people in one room, like it got a bit hysterical,” she said. “But I think that’s why I like it because I think it was such a specific time when everyone was just like annoying teenagers.”
Daniel Radcliffe Reveals Which Harry Potter Movie Is His Favorite
With eight installments to choose from, Harry Potter fans all have different favorite films for different reasons, but when it comes to star Daniel Radcliffe, he noted that his favorite film in the series is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, as he remembers how much time he spent filming with Gary Oldman. He also pointed out that he was able to appreciate his time with Oldman due to being older than he was when the pair first started acting together in the series. He would go on to note, however, that when it comes to which film is his favorite merely from a viewing perspective, it would be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
The fifth one, which is not one that most people cite as one of their favorites, Radcliffe shared with WIRED in response to his favorite entry. But I got to work with Gary Oldman a bunch in it. And I was sort of a little bit older at that point, so I was able to appreciate that more. But to watch, probably the last one.
Despite not necessarily appreciating his time collaborating with Oldman when the pair first starred in the third entry, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Radcliffe also recently confirmed that Oldman was the actor he was most starstruck by during his time in the series.

While the MCU can be all over the place when following different characters, the Harry Potter films are easier to follow from one to the next. The same main characters appear in every film, so when watching the movies in order, it is easier to track their development.
Once getting toward the later films, though, they mostly make sense if viewers have watched the previous films. Otherwise, elements that occur in the later movies may not make as much sense.

Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born on 23 July 1989 at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in the Hammersmith district of London, the only child of Alan George Radcliffe and Marcia Jeannine Gresham . His mother, who is Jewish, was born in South Africa and brought up in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. His father was raised in Banbridge, County Down, Northern Ireland, in a “very working-class” Protestant family. Radcliffe’s maternal ancestors were Jewish immigrants from Lithuania, Germany, Poland and Russia. In 2019, Radcliffe explored both sides of his family history in series sixteen of BBC‘s Who Do You Think You Are?. Radcliffe’s parents had both acted as children. The films could have been very different if not for the authors intervention
Ten years after the final Harry Potter film was released, its hard to imagine the main characters portrayed by anyone else.
Throughout eight films Harry, Hermione, Ron and the other young witches and wizards at Hogwarts were brought to life with stellar acting performances, all while growing up in front of our eyes.
During casting one of the most crucial decision was who should play the lead, Harry Potter, with those involved saying it was an incredibly hard choice.
Inevitably, readers had strong opinions on how Harry should translate from page to the big screen.
While Philosopher’s Stone director Chris Columbus had his eye on Daniel Radcliffe from an early stage in the process, his casting wasn’t straight forward.
When screen tests began there were at least six Harrys in contention, while there were only two actors up for the role of Hermione.
One of the favourites for the role of Harry Potter was American actor Liam Aiken, who had worked with Columbus previously on Stepmom .
Rumours that Aiken was being considered were soon leaked and became a bone of contention surrounding the film – as readers were worried about the Americanisation of the series.
Some reports even suggested Aiken had been offered the role until JK Rowling stepped in.
Speaking with the Huffington Post, casting director Janet Hirshenson said the author soon made it clear there was an “only British” rule for all major characters.
