We personally thought the Warner Bros studio tour was worth US$ 69 each. We probably would have paid up to around 80-90 dollars but any more and we would have written it off.
Its not every day you get to go behind the scenes of a movie studio, especially when youre a big fan of movies.
You have to set a reference point, like paying 10 bucks for a beer at a Dodgers ball game or US$ 100+ on a meal out in Beverly Hills and entrance to Warner Bros wont seem so high!
If you love movies and have a morning or afternoon spare on your Los Angeles itinerary, we think the Warner Bros studio tour could be the one for you.
It certainly didnt disappoint us.

Expect the tour to take approximately 3 hours. That includes 2 hours guided tour and 1 hour self guided at Studio 48 at the end of your tour.
Can You Take Pictures on the Warner Bros Tour?
You can take photos but only at certain allocated times. Your guide will inform you at every stop and in between whether or not photography is permitted but video is not permitted at any point of the tour.

Touring a TV and movie studio simply has to be on your travel itinerary when visiting Los Angeles for the first time. But which of the four major studios should you choose? Well, this first hand review will give you a rundown of what you can expect if you plump for the Warner Bros studio tour.
Hollywood movie studio tours are not cheap and take up a considerable portion of the day. Unless youre a HUGE film fan, wed recommend picking only one tour before spending the rest of your time and money on the other awesome things to do and see in Los Angeles.
As avid movie fans ourselves we chose Warner Bros because our research led us to believe it was the purest movie studio.
Each studio tour has its pros and cons which well get into later, before giving you our opinion on whether Warner Bros is worth the money.

Friends fans may never want to leave this sprawling re-creation of their favorite shows sets. A Scavenger Hunt Even A Muggle Will Love
This magical tour of the Getty Center will send you in search of art that echoes the enchanted world of Harry Potter. Keep your wand handy as you hunt for fierce dragons and trusty owls, unicorns and centaurs that look like they emerged from the Forbidden Forest, strange mermaids and sharks that seem straight out of the Triwizard Tournament, cloaked and masked figures that would send shivers through Death Eaters and Dementors, and characters that will remind you of Hagrid and Snape.

Don’t worry about wearing the Sorting Hatit’s time to visit your your chosen Hogwarts house! Explore the house you selected at preregistration or visit all the Hogwarts houses to learn more famed characters, movie props and costumes, house characteristics and colors, and much more. You can even scan your wristband here for more multimedia fun and earn points for your house.
Earn house points by properly potting the mandrakes during Herbology class.
Keep traveling through the exhibition and start your academic quest as a new Hogwarts student. Visit classrooms with iconic props, creatures, and costumes and then get to work. Brew potions in Snape’s potions classroom predict the future in Divination pot a mandrake in the Herbology greenhouse and defeat a boggart in Defense Against the Dark Arts. My personal favorite was brewing a love potion and successfully earning points for my house, as well as touching the adorably creepy mandrakes.
Visitors can make their way to Hagrid’s Hut and the Forbidden Forest to discover creatures like centaurs and spiders, cast a Patronus charm, and explore Hagrid’s magnificently large hut.

Warner Bros offers what is widely regarded as the best pure movie lovers tour out of all the studios in LA. We didnt tour the other studio so cant give a definitive agree or disagree on that claim.
If you truly love TV and movies, the price here wont matter too much because youre going to pay it anyway!

Rumors And Official Announcement
On December 1, 2011, the Wall Street Journal reported a rumor from “people familiar with the matter” that Universal Studios Hollywood was going to add its version of Islands of Adventure’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The report also detailed the possibility that Universal Parks & Resorts would open additional Harry Potter-themed areas at Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Japan as well as a location in Spain. This report was widely relayed by other media sources. On December 6, 2011, Universal Studios Hollywood announced the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Universal Parks & Resorts executives Tom Williams and Ron Meyer were accompanied by Warner Bros. executives, the Governor of CaliforniaJerry Brown as well as James and Oliver Phelps who played the Weasley twins in the films. The announcement came with very few details of what would be built, however, it did confirm that the Gibson Amphitheatre would be demolished and a re-creation of Hogwarts and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey would be constructed. The last show at the Gibson Amphitheatre was held on September 6, 2013, prior to its closure and subsequent demolition.
On April 23, 2013, NBCUniversal made the final step by receiving a unanimous vote in approval of the 25-year expansion by the county Board of Supervisors. Your adventure begins at Harry Potter: The Exhibition upon getting a “magic” wristband that you scan in an area that resembles platform 9 3/4. The check-in step allows visitors to personalize their experiences by inputting their names, Hogwarts house of choice , patronus, and wand. This information is saved to your individual profile and as you scan the bracelet throughout the exhibition, more details will be saved to your profile. Visitors also get to take a greenscreen photo with classic Harry Potter backgrounds at the start of their adventure.
The tour begins with a quick video about the history of the book and movie series, as well as a first edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone encased in a Gringotts-inspired vault. Next, fans enter an immersive multimedia room featuring a Whomping Willow, dementors, and the notable Marauder’s Map. This is where you first get to scan your wristband where your name magically pops up on the Marauder’s Map! Find your name on the digital map and make sure to snap a photo.
Just like the Great Hall from the series, the exhibition has its own Great Hall that visitors pass through to see still and not-so-still pictures of famed Hogwarts characters .

The first new thing youll experience on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour is the Welcome Center. This is where youll check in for your tour and where you can shop at the expanded Studio Store as well. Note that the store is open to the public even if youre not taking the tour. Its filled with merchandise from both classic and contemporary Warner Bros. movies, as well as their beloved TV series.
Theres a Starbucks in the Welcome Center, just in case you need some coffee, and youll be greeted by an impressive oversize sculpture from the Triwizard Tournament , and both Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny .

With the Discovery merger looming, Warner Bros.’s film bosses talk about how Project Popcorn has done so far.
The seven-story, 483,000-square-foot building across the street from Warner Bros. corporate offices in Burbank had been scheduled to open in May 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tours were previously launched from the first floor of the corporate office building, which offered less than half the display and visitor space of the new venue.
We felt like we were outgrowing our space, said Warner Bros. Vice President and General Manager Danny Kahn.
The tour building whose cost studio representatives declined to disclose is part of a larger expansion at the studios headquarters, which broke ground in January on a pair of Frank Gehry-designed office towers designed to resemble two icebergs.
Pandemic travel restrictions limit visits by international tourists, but Warner Bros. officials say they are hopeful that the new tour building will draw plenty of Californians who have stayed close to home for the last year and are itching to try new experiences.
We feel there is a lot of pent-up demand, said Gary Soloff, vice president of marketing at the studios. The company website shows all time slots for English-speaking tours are sold out for the first two weeks.
The building may be opening just in time for a tourism resurgence.
Previous Universal Harry Potter Attractions
A Harry Potter themed attraction at a Universal Studios park or a Disney park was rumored in 2003. However, the rights to the Harry Potter franchise had been acquired by Warner Bros., which denied all rumors. In January 2007, About.com reported a rumor from a “highly credible source” that the Universal’s Islands of Adventure park’s Lost Continent area at Universal Orlando Resort was going to be re-themed “to the stories and characters of one of the most popular children’s franchises”. Other sources followed up in the next few days with unofficial confirmation that the new area would involve Harry Potter. On May 31, 2007, Universal, in partnership with Warner Bros., officially announced that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be added to Islands of Adventure.
After a 2+12-year construction period, the area officially opened to the public on June 18, 2010. This resulted in attendance at the park jumping approximately 50% in its first year of operation. On July 8, 2014, Universal opened an expansion to the Wizarding World at Universal Studios Florida, Diagon Alley, which was placed in the former Amity Island area of the park. This expansion also included the new ride experience: The Hogwarts Express, in which a train travels between the two Universal Florida Parks, from the Hogsmeade area to Kings Cross Station . A week later, on July 15, 2014, Universal opened the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan.

Wizarding World Vs Harry Potter Tour
There are two major Harry Potter attractions in Los Angeles one at Universal Studios Hollywood and the other at Warner Bros. Studios.
Universal Studios is home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which includes thrill rides, theatrical performances, and many other fun activities for both young and old fans.
The Harry Potter tour at Warner Bros. Studios features several notable costumes and props from the film on display, including the sorting hat!
Just as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is included with admission to Universal Studios Hollywood, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour includes access to their Harry Potter attractions.
While each of these activities is sure to be a hit with fans, youll definitely get more bang for your buck at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
That said, hardcore fans may want to consider experiencing both attractions while theyre in Los Angeles!

Warner Bros Steps Away From $100
The project, proposed in 2018, raised safety concerns and required building into a mountain.
The new Warner Bros. tour building, built on the site of a parking lot, includes about 25,000 square feet of exhibit space and a parking structure with nearly 1,000 spots. Instead of one movie theater, the new building has two 70-seat theaters where tour visitors will be shown clips of movies shot at the studio.
The studio bought electric carts to shuttle visitors to film sets and backlot soundstages, including the coffee shop set featured in the sitcom Friends and the fountain where the cast members frolic during that shows opening title sequence.
The new building is home to much of the historic movie memorabilia that had been on display in the previous building, such as the trench coat worn by Humphrey Bogart in the 1942 classic Casablanca. The phone of studio co-founder Jack Warner is also in the exhibit, alongside his personal phone book, which shows the numbers and addresses of such Hollywood luminaries as Cecil B. DeMille and Walt Disney.
In hopes of attracting younger visitors, Warner Bros. has added several interactive exhibits meant to encourage movie fans to snap selfies and post photos on social media sites.
In another Harry Potter exhibit, visitors are asked to tap a series of buttons next to several ingredients to create a magic potion. Choose the correct ingredients, and a cauldron spins and glows purple.
