Why Is Draco Malfoy So Hot

Don't Miss

Draco Was Trying To Save His Friends From Lord Voldemort Too

Why Tom Felton FEARS Sharing ‘Draco Malfoy’ Role With Other Actors

InHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Draco pretended that he didnt recognize Harry, who was mutilated by the spell, to win some time and save him from Voldemort. Draco also didnt let his friends kill Harry in the Room of Requirement where he was looking for one of the Horcruxes. It looks like Draco wanted to help Harry finish what he started.

Six Reasons Why Draco Malfoy Is Actually Really Smart

Draco Malfoy is many things: a bully, a coward, a spoiled brat, a bouncing ferret, but there is one aspect of his personality that is hidden when looking at him from Harrys point of view: his incredible magical skill and intelligence. Draco is no Hermione, but he is still one of the most talented students in Harrys year.

1. Serpensortia

In the dueling club during his second year, Draco uses Serpensortia, sending a huge black serpent out of the tip of his wand. Conjuring animals out of nothing is incredibly advanced magic that even Hermione doesnt attempt until her sixth year. Draco, however, manages it as a 12-year-old, while all his classmates are still learning how to disarm each other.

2. Outstanding in Potions

Draco is one of only ten students in Harrys year who manage to get an Outstanding on their Potions OWL. Draco, of course, has encountered favoritism in Potions class from the moment he walked into the dungeon, but the Potions OWL is led by an impartial examiner, so he must have passed on his own merits alone. Snapes partiality, in fact, had the potential to work against Draco by giving him a false sense of his own abilities, but it turns out that Draco actually is as talented as Snape thinks him to be.

3. Occlumency

4. Protean Charm

5. Imperius Curse

6. Fixing the Vanishing Cabinet

Is Draco Portrayed In The Canon Books As Good

In fan-fiction, Draco-Harry and Draco-Hermione pairings are very common. Their popularity is evidenced by the fact that this very site has specific tags for them. This is often attributed to Draco being cute.

And there’s no doubt that Tom Felton, who plays Draco in the films, is good-looking. But is there any canonical information in the books or related material about Draco’s appearance? Is he conventionally attractive? Or not so much, like most of the Slytherins we hear about save Zabini and Riddle?

  • 5Barring any obvious deformities or problems with e.g. hygiene, is it really meaningful to talk about how “good looking” 11 year old kids are? The attractiveness of facial and other features changes a lot during puberty and only in the very last books any in-universe observations would be relevant.

Draco Isnt Described As Attractive Or Ugly

Draco isnt usually described as either good or bad looking. The best indication of what Draco was supposed to look like in the books is this drawing by J.K. Rowling.

Hes mainly described as having a pale pointed face with cold grey eyes and white-blond hair, without any mention of how attractive he is. While the books are written in the third person, they reflect Harrys view, so its unclear if the word choice is colored by that. The terms pale and pointed may have a slightly negative association, but whether those features make him look attractive or unattractive isnt ever stated, so it cant be assumed from that description. Kreacher does say he has fine bones, but as he misses the Black family, he is likely predisposed to think well of Draco.

Master Malfoy moves with a nobility that befits his pure blood, croaked Kreacher at once. His features recall the fine bones of my mistress and his manners are those of – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Chapter 21

His description remains consistent throughout the series. In the first book, Draco is described as having a pale, pointed face.

“In the back of the shop, a boy with a pale, pointed face was standing on a footstool while a second witch pinned up his long black robes. Madam Malkin stood Harry on a stool next to him, slipped a long robe over his head and began to pin it to the right length.”– Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone)

Hes mentioned as having identically cold and grey eyes as his father.

He Was More Jealous Of Harry Than He Let On

J.K. Rowling Doesn

Specifically, Draco was jealous of Harry. It was easy to miss because Draco didnt often show his emotions, modelling himself on his cold, confident, calculating father, but J.K. Rowling has confirmed that a lot of his enmity towards Harry stemmed from envy. Draco was brought up to believe he was very special, so it jarred with him that Harry was more admired at school than he was. He was, apparently, also very upset that Harry was a better flier than him, flying being one of the only things Draco could rightfully believe he was actually good at.

Hes Had To Work For His Accomplishments

Lets be real here: Harry Potter didnt actually DO anything to earn the title of The Boy Who Lived. He literally just lived. It was his mom Lily who did the sacrificing that turned into Harrys fame. Draco actually performed well in school and showed Voldemort he was worth something, thereby EARNING the Dark Lords respect. Thats pretty hardcore.

The Chamber Of Secrets

In Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, Draco hasnt changed much. Hes still a selfish, spoiled brat. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger all despise him really, he doesnt give them any reasons not to.

Dracos biggest scene in this film is in the Slytherin Common Room with Ron and Harry, who have disguised themselves as Crabbe and Goyle. Hes unnecessarily mean to them even though he thinks theyre his friends, telling them how stupid and inferior they are compared to him. The dungeons are a fitting place for him, then, as he bullies people and congratulates whoever is harming mudbloods while the Chamber is open.

Its frightful to see an actual child be this prejudiced. At just 12 years old, Draco harbors extreme conservative ideologies. It could be argued that this biased rant, which foreshadows a major divide in the Wizarding community, is Dracos most villainous moment. Although he is actively name-calling Hermione throughout the entire series, this rant while hes alone and at his most confident in his disgusting opinions illustrates just how indoctrinated he already is and how awful he could turn out to be.

Draco Warned Hermione About The Attack

During the Quidditch World Cup, Draco warned Hermoine about the danger with his natural sarcasm. He said, Hadnt you better be hurrying along, now? You wouldnt like her spotted, would you? Draco nodded at Hermione, and then he explained, Granger, theyre after Muggles. Do you want to be showing off your knickers in mid-air? Because if you do, hang around…theyre moving this way.

Although it sounded rude, it was enough to make Hermoine and her friends go in a different direction to look for the rest of the Weasley family.

Ditching Crabbe & Goyle

Harry Potter: Draco Malfoy Hilarious Bloopers and Funny Moments | OSSA Movies

While Harry developed a wide circle of friends during his Hogwarts years, Draco only ever had two. His minions, Crabbe and Goyle. However, even Draco never really saw this as real friends as much as two lunkheads he could boss around. He only cared about them in the most shallow way possible. It’s probably why he ended up ditching them after Half-Blood Prince.

The book even mentions the two look lost without Draco. That might also explain why they don’t easily fall back under his sway during the Battle of Hogwarts. In Deathly Hallows, Draco mentions to Ginny Weasley that he was jealous of Harry’s genuine friendships more than anything else. Just another way envy drove his actions.

Reasons Why Draco Malfoy Is One Of The Most Misunderstood Characters In Harry Potter

Draco Malfoy.

The anti of the boy who lived. The seven year long enemy of Harry Potter. Or so everybody thought. Draco, the son of the Death Eater Lucius Malfoy and the kid with a mean streak.

But there is more to the kid than we saw in the movies or read in the books. Here are a few reasons that he was way more messed up and misunderstood by everyone including the muggles who read the books.

When He Showed Off The Brooms His Father Bought The Slytherin Team And They Still Lost

As weve already seen, Draco considered himself one hot Skrewt when it came to flying a broom. In second year Draco My father Malfoy got his dad to get the whole Slytherin Quidditch team new Nimbus Two Thousand and One brooms, and thus bought his way onto the team. He even told Fred and George: You could raffle off those Cleansweep Fives, I expect a museum would bid for them.

Yeah, all right Draco, calm down, were not all massive fans of broomstick exhibits. Does your family have a museum wing named after it somewhere? This moment was especially good because Slytherin lost the match to Gryffindor anyway, due to Draco not paying attention to the Snitch hovering by his ear.

The Worst: He’s Cruel

While Draco deserves a lot of credit for having a change of heart once things got a little too real for him, the unfortunate reality is that his change of perspective didn’t result in much of a change of behavior.

Yes, he wasn’t bad enough to actually kill anyone or get people killed, but he was still an unusually cruel and unkind person regardless.

The Worst: He’s Spoiled

Why is Draco Malfoy Trending Again? September 2020 Mad ...

Draco seems to get everything in his life based on the fact that he is a Malfoy. Being a member of a prominent wizarding family accords Draco a lot of privilege, but even beyond that, his parents go far out of their way to spoil him rotten.

When so many other characters have almost nothing, it’s hard not to hate Draco when he has everything handed to him and is still so awful.

Hes Much More Confident

Harrys always all oh no what do I do am I really supposed to defeat Voldemort wahhh wahhh and lets face it, that would get really old really fast. Draco is always confident, even when things get really hard. When faced with adversity, he puts on a brave face and gets shit done.

He Couldn’t Befriend Harry

With all, that’s happened since it’s easy to forget that Draco didn’t always hate Harry. In fact, he wanted to be his friend when they first met at Hogwarts.

Unfortunately, Draco acted out his worst tendencies and he sneered at Ron which made Harry reject him. A shame since these two could have actually been good friends if only Draco had considered his actions more closely.

The Worst: He Idolizes His Parents

Tom Felton Misses Harry Potter Way Too Much | OSSA Movies

Although Draco’s parents are clearly terrible influences on him, the fact of the matter is that he loves their influence. He goes out of his way to emulate his parents and parrot their beliefs, especially when it comes to his father.

He may not have had much exposure to other ideas or kinds of people, but the very fact that he idolizes his own parents indicates that he’s a bit of a jerk naturally.

The Order Of The Phoenix

Draco is absolutely intolerable in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He sides with Dolores Umbridge, a villainous member of the Ministry of Magic, to control Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. But he doesnt do so to align with her politics or further her pure-blood agenda he just wants power. All Draco ever does is vie for attention, whether its Harrys, Lucius, or Voldemorts. He wants to be the best, but hes too insecure to do it without undermining other peoples success and confidence to do so.

So in the fifth Harry Potter installment, Draco helps catch troublemakers. In one intriguing scene, hes finally got Harry and Dumbledores Army in Umbridges sickeningly pink office.

When Umbridge slaps Harry, however, Draco reacts with shock and distress not what wed expect from Harrys apparent rival. Draco goes from excited about his victory to unsettled by Umbridges tactics, showing how Draco is actually good at heart, despite how hes presenting outwardly.

Because Harry Caught Him Crying In The Bathroom

There’s no denying that even before Draco was bleeding on the floor, fans’ hearts went out to him as he sobbed in the bathroom.

Fearing for himself and his family, and feeling completely cornered in his life, this scene was a rare, and tragic, glimpse into Draco’s emotional state. Definitely one of the times it was hard not to feel anything but sympathy for Draco.

Draco And Harry Are Very Alike

Draco and Harry had nothing but mutual animosity for one another, but they were more alike than either wanted to admit. Both were the sons of famous wizarding houses and the reputations of the parents preceded them wherever they went. Negatively, in Draco’s case. Both of their families were quite wealthy too, though Draco took every chance to flaunt that wealth and influence.

Finally, both shared a love of Quidditch and were the Seekers of their respective house teams. It’s in ways like this that Draco and Harry are foiled, reflections of each other. In a perfect world, they might have actually found some common ground and become friends, but life isn’t perfect when Voldemort is involved.

A Lesson On Amortentia:

Draco Malfoy Sexy

veronica gershon – veronica

So, yeah, like I said, Im no huge Harry Potter fan. But maybe I wouldve been a lil more into it had Rowling brought these Cedric/Draco threesome fantasies to the forefront of the series. Less Voldemort, more Robert Pattison/Tom Felton spin-offs.

When Harry Was Somehow A Better Slytherin Than He Was

Harry, the pride of Gryffindor house, entered the lair of Salazar Slytherin, spoke Parseltongue, actually managed to follow through on his cunning plans, and only missed being sorted into Slytherin by the skin of his teeth. Malfoy was a good Slytherin by dint of being sorted into Slytherin. But despite this, Draco never stopped trying. Blimey, maybe he should have been in Hufflepuff instead?

The Worst: He’s A Bully

While Draco does deserve a bit of pity due to the fact that plenty of the students at Hogwarts treat him poorly, it’s not as if that treatment stems from nothing and nowhere.

And while Draco seems to be mistreated because of his own behavior and attitude towards others, Draco is the kind of bully who torments other students over things that they can’t control. Draco can control his behavior, and he chooses to be a bully.

Hes Got Bad Boy Sex Appeal

Why Hollywood Won’t Cast Tom Felton Anymore

Weve all been there: lusting after the guy whos not exactly a snuggly bundle of sunshine but lets face it, thats part of the draw. If you can make this untouchable rebel like you, then theres got to be something special about you too. Plus, theres a lot of love lying below the surface you just have to get to it. Harry is the opposite of a bad boy. Hes a good guy. Which, while it has its own appeal, can get pretty boring.
