Chapter : A Peck Of Owls

Ministry of Magic? People like you in government? Oh, this explains everything, everything, no wonder the country’s going to the dogs –
Uncle Vernon, about the Ministry

Petunia receives a Howler

While angry over the situation, Mrs Figg explains to a surprised Harry she is actually a Squib. The two take a Demented Dudley back to Privet Drive, where Mrs Figg mentions she was sent by Dumbledore to watch over Harry and also kept his visits to her house boring so the Dursleys would not send Harry elsewhere if he were happy. After Mundungus Fletcher shows up, Mrs Figg scolds him for his foolish actions before sending him to inform Dumbledore of this situation so he can act quickly. Just before they part, Harry learns that Dumbledore has been keeping him under observation in order to protect him after what had happened with Voldemort last month. When Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon notice Dudley in his sickly state they fawn over him and Harry attempts to slip away, but Dudley speaks and assumes that Harry attacked him with some sort of spell since Muggles cannot see Dementors.

Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone

In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the book that started it all , Harry Potter discovers his true identity in the wee hours of his eleventh birthday: he is a wizard, famous in the magical world for having vanquished the evil Lord Voldemort when he was only a baby. This revelation, delivered by a gruff, hairy giant named Hagrid, sets Harry on a fantastical journey of a lifetime.

He meets bosom buddies Ron and Hermione aboard the Hogwarts Express, and is soon sorted with them into Gryffindor: the house of the intrepid and brave. However, Harry also makes plenty of enemies at Hogwarts, most notably the arrogant Draco Malfoy and the nasty potions master, Snape . And from battling a troll on Halloween to his first exhilarating Quidditch match not to mention the novels climax, in which Harry goes up against Voldemort for the second time in his young life theres never a dull moment in the first year of his new adventure.

Sorcerers Stone also perfectly balances exciting action with touching emotion, as Harry finds a true family in Ron and Hermione after years of misery with the Dursleys. Indeed, the books small, moving moments such as Harry being floored by a gift from Rons mother, or Hermiones tearful declaration at the end about books and cleverness are just as magical as the spells themselves.

Chapter 3: Fight And Flight

The Ministry places a rather higher value on my life than yours, I’m afraid, Potter.
Umbridge, to Harry

Hermione leads Harry and Umbridge into the forest, where they encounter centaurs. The Skirmish in the Forbidden Forest ensues, and Umbridge foolishly insults them and an angry centaur picks up Umbridge and carries her off screaming into the woods. When Hagrid’s giant half-brother, Grawp crashes onto the scene, Hermione and Harry escape amid the chaos.

Harry, Ron and Hermione, along with Luna, Ginny and Neville fly to the Ministry of Magic on the school’s Thestrals, unaware they are being lured into a trap.

Harry holding the glass sphere which contains the prophecy

Very good, Potter. Now turn around, nice and slowly, and give that to me.
Lucius Malfoy, to Harry

When they arrive at the Department of Mysteries, they are ambushed by Death Eaters. Voldemort seeks a prophecy contained in a glass sphere there and needs Harry to retrieve it for him. All of the six students heroically fight the many Death Eaters, but they are dangerously outmatched.

Is It Any Good

The Essential Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Children?s 3 ...

This exciting installment pits Harry against inept politicians, cruel teachers, and his number-one foe, Voldemort, who is indeed back no matter what the Ministry says. Harry faces so many trials this challenging school year, many thanks to the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and toad-like Ministry toadie, Dolores Umbridge. She seems determined to get that “liar” Harry Potter expelled, or almost worse, off the Gryffindor Quidditch team for good. Harry can’t control his temper whenever the aptly named Umbridge is around. He also can’t seem to control his own body and emotions, a development both fascinating and frightening. Harry has repetitive dreams of long hallways and locked doors, sudden bursts of feeling that aren’t his, and a regular prickling sensation in his scar. He suspects his connection to Voldemort has grown stronger with his return and is proven right when, in his sleep, Harry witnesses — and is unwittingly a part of — a vicious attack. Readers will be worrying as Harry does just how deep the connection goes and who will get attacked next.

Harry Potter: “I didn’t want anyone to talk to me.
Ginny Weasley: “Well, that was a bit stupid of you, seeing as how you don’t know anyone but me who’s been possessed by You-Know-Who, and I can tell you how it feels.
Ginny talking to Harry

Hermione joins Harry and the Weasleys at Grimmauld Place for Christmas, and Percy sends back his Weasley jumper, which makes his mother very sad. Hermione, Ron and Ginny Weasley discover that Neville Longbottom‘s parents are insane and living at St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. They also see their former Defence Against the Dark Arts professor Gilderoy Lockhart. Harry finally says that he knew what happened to Neville’s parents.

Chapter : The Hearing

Oh, I don’t think any of us believe the Dementors were there by coincidence.
Dumbledore, at Harry’s hearing

Harry recognises the courtroom is the same one he saw in Dumbledore’s Pensieve during his last school year. Cornelius Fudge is acting as the head of the Wizengamot, and Harry is also surprised to see Percy Weasley acting as scribe, although Percy refuses to look at Harry. After Dumbledore arrives, Fudge starts the trial without giving Harry a chance to defend himself. Once Harry gets the chance to explain about the Dementors, Fudge labels his statement a convenient lie, but Dumbledore is able to produce a reliable witness: Mrs Figg, whom Percy brings in. Mrs Figg is able to describe the attack and confirms that the Dementors attacked Harry and Dudley.

When Fudge points out the unlikelihood of Dementors in Little Whinging, Dumbledore suggests that someone within the Ministry ordered them there. Fudge, however, refuses to accept any of this as evidence and while Dumbledore reminds him that magic can be used in these extraordinary circumstances. Fudge dismisses this, given Harry’s past issues, reminding them of the illegal use of a Hover Charm three years ago. While this was Dobby‘s fault, Fudge refuses Dumbledore’s suggestion to bring him in and also brings up the fact that Harry inflatedhis aunt a year later, even though no charges were pressed.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix Audiobook Stephen Fry Reviews

It required a significant stretch of time to finish this book recording however from here Rowling has begun bringing this book into a more obscure side. Hogwarts meets a bad dream in form of teacher Umbridge never have I detested a fictitious person more than I loathed her inquisitive to see whether she shows up. This book has twisted marginally towards the person advancement side than the plot. Great to see Harry and his mates managing a few additional grown-up issues and Neville acquiring a few nerves . Extremely grasping book uniquely the last couple of parts, incredibly described by Stephen Fry in a general one more exceptional version by JK Rowling.

Second year, upon seeing the decree

After hearing about the defensive magic organisation, Dolores Umbridge uses her power as Hogwarts High Inquisitor to pass this Educational Decree, which immediately disbands all existing clubs, teams, societies and groups and forbids further groups without the High Inquisitor’s consent. Any student found to be in noncompliance of the Decree is to be expelled immediately. Harry worries that someone from the Hog’s Head group might have betrayed them, but Hermione informs him that she enchanted the parchment they all signed to inform her if someone did. Harry also learns from Angelina that the Quidditch teams have also been disbanded under the new decree and asks Harry to promise her not to provoke Umbridge again out of fear she might not reinstate the Gryffindor team.

Harry Potter And The Half

Things take a turn for the expository in this penultimate installment, which sees Harry learn all about Voldemorts family and origin story, so to speak. Dumbledore gives Harry these lessons to prepare him for a grand future battle with Voldemort, presumably in the vein of keeping his enemies closer. What Harry doesnt know is that Dumbledore is planning something even bigger a plan that he, Harry, becomes more inexorably entangled in with each passing day.

At the same time, Harry suspects Malfoy to be colluding with Voldemort, and begins obsessively tracking him on the Marauders Map. But each new lead just seems to be a wrong turn, and Harry grows increasingly frustrated with the lack of evidence when he knows that Malfoy is guilty. His only good luck, funnily enough, is in potions class. After receiving a secondhand textbook filled with tips and tricks from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince, Harry shines under the tutelage of their new potions professor Slughorn. Hermione, meanwhile, is jealous of Harrys newfound academic success, and attempts to uncover the Princes identity to prove hes crooked.

Chapter 3: The Only Onehe Ever Feared

Indeed, your failure to understand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness
Dumbledore, to Voldemort

Dumbledore arrives and swiftly captures the Death Eaters, with only Bellatrix Lestrange managing to escape. Lord Voldemort appears as Harry was fighting Belatrix and tries to kill Harry, but he is saved by Dumbledore and an intense duel erupts between the two mighty wizards, with Dumbledore visibly dominating the duel, as he calmly overcomes all of Voldemort’s attempts before eventually imprisoning him in a cocoon of water, forcing him to disapparate. Left with the realisation Dumbledore surpasses him, Voldemort, in desperation, attempts to possess Harry to cause him unbearable pain in the hope that Dumbledore will kill Harry both to spare him and to kill Voldemort. However, Dumbledore does not act on the bait and in an ironic twist of fate Harry’s grief for Belatrix’s murder of Sirius, or love, allows him to cause Voldemort unmeasurable pain and forces him out. Ministry of Magic employees arrive in time to see the Dark Lord before he disapparates, taking Bellatrix with him. Cornelius Fudge finally admits Voldemort has returned and Harry’s interview with Rita Skeeter is reprinted in the Daily Prophet.

Because you are not nearly as angry with me as you ought to be. If you are to attack me, as I know you are close to doing, I would like to have thoroughly earned it.
Dumbledore, to Harry
