Cast and crew from the legendary Harry Potter franchise are set to reunite for the first time for HBOs Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special.
The special will tell the story of the behind the scenes of making the franchise, with brand new in-depth interviews with the cast and crew.
HBO has said that the special will invite fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.
The programme is set to honour the making of the films, as well as the famous Harry Potter studio tour in London, which is where the special will take place.
Tom Ascheim, President, Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics, said: It has been an incredible journey since the debut of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone film, and witnessing how it has evolved into this remarkable interconnected universe has been magical to say the least.
This retrospective is a tribute to everyone whose lives were touched by this cultural phenomenonfrom the talented cast and crew who poured their heart and soul into this extraordinary film franchise to the passionate fans who continue to keep the Wizarding World spirit alive 20 years later.
Executive producer Casey Patterson added: Theres magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago.
Harry Potter Star Reteams With Servant Creator For New Movie
Harry Potter star Rupert Grint is reteaming with Old and The Sixth Sense director M Night Shyamalan, following their collaboration on the Apple TV+ series Servant.
As reported by Deadline, the actor has signed up to star in Knock at the Cabin, which Shyamalan is writing, producing and directing. We don’t know the plot of the film just yet, but we do know that it’s on track to be released on .
Also starring in the film are The Omen, Old and The No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency actress Nikki Amuka-Bird, and Guardians of the Galaxy and Army of the Dead star Dave Bautista, who was previously announced for the film.
Similarly to the plot, the characters the actors will be playing are under wraps too.
While promoting the latest season of Servant earlier this month, Grint admitted that he has only seen a handful of the eight Harry Potter movies.
“I’ve probably seen the first three at the premieres,” he said recently. “After that, I stopped watching them but now that I have a daughter, I will probably have to watch them with her.”
He previously also revealed that if Warner Bros ever decides to make a film in which the original characters return, he’d be up for playing Ron Weasley again.
“I don’t know. I mean, never say never,” he said. “I would never say, ‘Absolutely no.’ It was a huge part of my life and I’m very fond of that character and their stories. So yeah, I mean, I’d be up for it at the right time. I don’t know what capacity that would be, but yeah, we’ll see.”

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will be released on HBO Max on New Years Day 2022.
In exciting news, the reunion special will be available to watch in the UK on the same day, with Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts becoming available to watch on Sky Max and streaming service NOW from 1st January 2022.
It comes in the wake of the reunion special for the Friends cast, which was also released on HBO Max earlier this year.

Sky and NOW will also air Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses on 29th December 2021, which will see Wizarding World fans have their Harry Potter knowledge put to the test as they fight to be named House Cup Champion.
In addition to its release on 1st January 2021, the reunion special will also air in the US on TBS and Cartoon Network in spring 2022 in the run-up to the theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
A press release confirming the special revealed that it will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.
Alongside actors, Radcliffe, Watson and Grint, the director of the first two films, Chris Columbus, will also join the TV special to honour the magic behind the making of the films and the beautiful family created at Warner Bros Studios London two decades ago.

Warner Bros. and HBO Max confirmed that Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts is a reunion special to celebrate the franchises 20th anniversary. The special event will feature several cast members from the movies having in-depth conversations and interviews to tell the making-of story of one of the most beloved film franchises of all time. So, as much as we would have loved a new Harry Potter movie, Return to Hogwarts is not one.
Of course, the legendary trio, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, will be part of Return to Hogwarts. However, besides them, Robbie Coltrane , Mark Williams , Matthew Lewis , Gary Oldman , and Ralph Fiennes will also be a part of the event.
Warner Bros will hopefully reveal more guest participants through another trailer soon. Anyway, its for sure that Return to Hogwarts will be a star-studded Harry Potter reunion. In short, it will be a blessing for fans who were desperately waiting to see the films cast together.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2
First, and perhaps this goes without saying: there really arent any bad openings to a Harry Potter movie. Furthermore, there arent any bad Harry Potter movies. Part 2 of the finale picks up exactly where Part 1 left off: with Voldemort stealing the Elder Wand from Dumbledores grave, potentially signaling a great advantage for Team Dark Lord.
Since that scene was already shown in the previous film, however, perhaps the opening scene is more accurately the gorgeously stark one featuring Headmaster Snape looking over Hogwarts under the control of the Death Eaters. Its a rare moment when we get to see Snape observing without any change of being seen, so that his emotions can be present on his face, almost completely unguarded.

The Mirror Of Erised Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone
Chris Columbus‘ critically underratedif slightly cutesy at timesinaugural and sophomore Potter Films, did a truly fine job of setting up the Wizarding World. In addition to world-building, the early films deserve credit for getting to the heart of the matter.

In an early marker of the emotional riches to come, Harry sees his murdered parents in the Mirror of Erised. This is also a touching moment of bonding between Harry and mentor Albus Dumbledore , a relationship that will be greatly expanded upon in the following films.
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
The Prisoner of Azkaban offers a more simple opening. The film opens with Harry hiding under the sheets in his bed practicing Lumos Maxima . When his uncle barges into the room to see what Harrys doing, he quickly pretends to have been asleep.
While this opening is brief, it sets the tone for the whole movie. The light from Harrys wand transforms into the opening title, and also foreshadows the movies focus on light in the darkest times.
