Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone Set In 1991/92
Onto the series that everybody fell in love with years ago, the first film adaptation of the famous book series came in 2001 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, retitled Sorcerer’s Stone for American and Indian audiences.
Taking place in Britain in the very early 1990s, the film follows the iconic characters in their first year at Hogwarts, establishing friends, foes, settings, and overall building of the Wizarding World in a brilliant way. A great start to the series, and a good adaptation.
St Mungo’s Hospital For Magical Maladies And Injuries
St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries is a hospital within the Harry Potter universe. Medics at the hospital are not called doctors, but are known as Healers and wear lime-green robes. Founded by famous wizard Healer Mungo Bonham, St Mungo’s is located in London. It was established to treat magical maladies, injuries or illnesses endemic to the Wizarding World. To enter the premises, one has to step through the window of what appears to be a derelict department store called Purge & Dowse Ltd. The exteriors of the hospital are red-bricked and dirty, which is the complete opposite of the interiors. Inside, everything is very neat and looks exactly as a hospital should. There are six floors. The emblem of St Mungo’s is a magic wand crossed with a bone. This is the hospital where Arthur Weasley is sent after he was attacked by Voldemort’s snake, Nagini, in the Ministry of Magic and Minerva McGonagall is hospitalised from severe stunning when Hagrid is forced out of Hogwarts. During one visit, Harry and company happen across Neville Longbottom, who has come with his grandmother to visit his parents in the long-term care ward. They also find former professor Gilderoy Lockhart there, still suffering from the effects of a backfired Memory Charm.
Chapter 2: The Second Task

Harry explains what happened the previous night to Ron and Hermione. Even though Harry and Ron suspect Snape might have put Harry’s name in the Goblet of Fire, Hermione doubts this. Harry also sends a school owl to Sirius to update him on what happened.
Over the coming weeks, even with help from Hermione and Ron as well as the library’s resources , Harry struggles to think of a way to breathe underwater for an hour. Two days before the second task is to start, Sirius’s response comes in. Sirius wants to know when their next trip to Hogsmeade is.
On the last night before the task, the trio are continuing their research in the school library when Fred and George appear to inform them that Professor McGonagall has summoned Ron and Hermione. Harry later sneaks back into the library after hours with his Invisibility Cloak, but can’t find anything else.

Hogwarts Legacy To Take Place During A Time Before Harry Potter
Hogwarts Legacy is being developed by Avalanche Studios and is a part of the Portkey Games franchise. This franchise takes direct inspiration from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but are all original stories set in that universe. Because Hogwarts Legacy does take players on an original adventure, Harry Potter cannot be included. J.K. Rowling was not involved with creating the story or the game itself but, of course, her world is the foundation on which everything is set upon.
With Hogwarts Legacy, players will instead find themselves in the Wizarding World in the 1800s. All of this information was confirmed through the FAQ on the Hogwarts Legacy website. The developers say that the game places players at the center of their own adventure.
As seen in short gameplay videos, players will be able to do most everything that they see Harry Potter do in the books and films. They go through the House Sorting process with the Sorting Hat, venture out to the Forbidden Forest to meet new creatures and attend classes, such as Potions. The games will still follow all of the lore rooted in the Wizarding World during its time period.
Its unclear how much the time period in Hogwarts Legacy will affect the overall story. The developers say that players are thrust into uncovering a hidden truth of the wizarding world during the main story.
The official release date for Hogwarts Legacy is still unknown. Warner Bros. remains firm it will launch in 2022.

The Highlands Of Scotland
JK Rowling has said in interviews that she always imagined Hogwarts to be in Scotland, so it’s appropriate that some of the most stunning scenes depicting the grounds of the Harry Potter Castle were filmed in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
Look out for the location of Hagrid’s hut at Glencoe, near the Clachaig Inn, which is also where Hermione punches Malfoy in The Prisoner of Azkaban, and Loch Eilt with its tiny island of Eilean Na Moine which was the location of Dumbeldore’s grave in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
Keep an eye out too for Loch Morar, the largest freshwater lake in Britain, which along with nearby Loch Arkaig and Loch Shiel were digitally blended together to create Hogwarts Lake.
As you pass desolate Rannoch Moor imagine yourself in The Deathly Hallows Part 1, where the Dementors board the train looking for Harry.
Nearby are Steall Falls, Britain’s second highest waterfall, and the surrounding beauty of Glen Nevis, it’s been a filming location multiple times in the Harry Potter movies, most notably as the scenic background to some exciting Quidditch games!

Chapter 2: The Unexpected Task

After a Transfiguration class, McGonagall tells her students about the Yule Ball, a formal event that is scheduled for 25 December and is open to fourth years and above . They gather in a spare classroom to practise for the ball and Ron is forced to practise dancing with McGonagall. She tells Harry privately that he and his dance partner will start off the event alongside the other champions and their dates as a traditional part of the Triwizard Tournament.
Over the next few weeks, both Ron and Harry unsuccessfully attempt to find dates as they get through the final classes of the term. Fred and George are also acting suspiciously again they want to borrow Pigwidgeon to deliver a letter to someone, but Pigwidgeon is not back yet . Harry later works up his courage and asks Cho to go to the dance with him, but learns that she had already agreed to go with Cedric. This information sours Harry’s relationship with Cedric.
The Dursley’s Car Has A 2006 Licence Plate In The ’90s
The role of the Dursleys in the Harry Potter movies was greatly diminished from that of the books to the point where several films just skipped them entirely. It was probably for the best that the Dursleys were left out, as their connection to the Muggle world caused several anachronisms, as we will see later on.
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the scene where Dudley is attacked by the Dementor is integral to the plot, so the Dursleys had to appear in the story. We are given a glimpse at the Dursleys’ car, which has a 2006 registration plate, even though the start of the movie is supposed to take place in 1995.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
Or as its known colloquially, Harry Potter and the Worst Camping Trip Ever. After the events of the previous book culminating in another major characters heartbreaking death Harry vows to personally destroy every one of Voldemorts Horcruxes. These Horcruxes are objects containing pieces of Voldemorts soul, rendering him effectively immortal. Which means that if Harry wants even a chance at killing Voldemort face-to-face, hell need to locate and eliminate the Horcruxes first. Its this daunting prospect that leads to the Worst Camping Trip Ever though of course, its brightened somewhat by the presence of the ever-faithful Ron and Hermione.
To be fair, the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows arent as quotidianly miserable as the events of OotP at least we know the characters are suffering for a greater purpose. But that doesnt stop this from being, as you might expect, the darkest book in the series. From the corrupting influence of a locket that causes Ron to abandon his friends, to the tragic prophecy that Harry uncovers through more of Snapes past memories, this book truly tests the readers tolerance for beloved characters in distress.

The Bodleian Library Oxford
The magnificent Bodleian Library provided filming locations for 3 of the Harry Potter films. Duke Humfrey’s Library was used as the Hogwarts’ library, where Hermione is often seen reading. The English Gothic Room of the Divinity School, dating from 1488 and the oldest teaching room at the University stood in for the Hogwarts Infirmary, for example in the scene where Ron recovers after being poisoned in The Half Blood Prince.

According to Rowling, Alice and Frank Longbottom were eventually moved to the incurable wing of St. Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries to continue treatment for their torture-induced insanity.
I know people really wanted some hope for that, and I can quite see why because, in a way, what happens to Nevilles parents is even worse than what happened to Harrys parents,she said. The damage that is done, in some cases with very dark magic, is done permanently.

Design And Special Effects
Judianna Makovsky served as the costume designer. She re-designed the Quidditch robes, having initially planned to use those shown on the cover of the American book, but deemed them “a mess.” Instead, she dressed the Quidditch players in “preppie sweaters, 19th-century fencing breeches and arm guards.” Production designer Stuart Craig built the sets at Leavesden Studios, including Hogwarts Great Hall, basing it on many English cathedrals. Although originally asked to use an existing old street to film the Diagon Alley scenes, Craig decided to build his own set, comprising Tudor, Georgian and Queen Anne architecture.
Columbus originally planned to use both animatronics and CGI animation to create the magical creatures, including Fluffy. Nick Dudman, who worked on Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, was given the task of creating the needed prosthetics, with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop providing creature effects. John Coppinger stated that the magical creatures that needed to be created had to be designed multiple times. The film features nearly 600 special effects shots, involving numerous companies. Industrial Light & Magic created Lord Voldemort‘s face on the back of Quirrell, Rhythm & Hues animated Norbert and Sony Pictures Imageworks produced the Quidditch scenes.
Chapter 2: Rita Skeeter’s Scoop

Ron and Hermione decide to put last night’s argument behind them. Hermione isn’t too surprised when she learns that Hagrid is a half-giant, as she suspected this all along. Meanwhile, Harry is reluctant to take Cedric’s advice due to his jealousy about Cho.
A substitute teacher, Professor Grubbly-Plank, teaches the first Care of Magical Creatures of the year. Draco Malfoy shows Harry that Rita Skeeter had published a nasty story about Hagrid and his giant heritage this has apparently driven Hagrid into hiding. This raises some questions between the trio, as nobody else heard Hagrid talking privately with Madam Maxime that night and Rita is supposed to be banned from Hogwarts.
The trio go to Hagrid’s cabin and, along with Dumbledore, try to persuade him to return. They point out that not everyone has abandoned Hagrid, and that everyone has secrets in their pasts. After Dumbledore leaves, Hagrid remembers his late father telling him never to be ashamed of what he is and gets over his depression. He gives his support to Harry in the Tournament, believing that if Harry wins, he could show everyone they do not have to be ashamed of what they are. This is enough to convince Harry to put aside his pride and take Cedric’s advice.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald Set In 1927
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald came two years later, set a year after the events of Fantastic Beasts, building on the Grindelwald twist of the first film.
The movie severely disappointed Potterheads with its muddled, convoluted nature, and weak plot. Even more frustrating, for the first time on such a scale, the movie contradicts the rules of the Wizarding World, infuriating fans to no end.
Harry & Dudley’s 11th Birthdays Took Place On The Wrong Days
Harry Potter was born in the same year as his cousin, Dudley Dursley, with Harry’s birthday falling on July 31st, while Dudley was born on June 23rd. We see both Harry and Dudley’s eleventh birthdays during the events of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, but they take place on incorrect dates.
Dudley’s birthday party & trip to the zoo takes place on a Saturday, even though June 23rd in 1991 was a Sunday. Harry Potter’s birthday was said to take place on a Tuesday, even though July 31st in 1991 was a Wednesday.

Madam Malkin’s Robes For All Occasions
Madam Malkin’s is a clothing shop next to Flourish & Blotts. It sells robes and other clothing, including the standard Hogwarts-required plain black work robes, and dress robes. Inside the shop, Madam Malkin and her assistants will tailor the robes to fit. Malkin is an archaic term for a crotchety old woman.
Harry has two meetings with Draco Malfoy in Madam Malkin’s shop. This is where Harry meets the first wizard of his own age, Malfoy, for the first time, in Philosopher’s Stone. Harry is rather bewildered by the questions Malfoy asks, because Harry is still unfamiliar with many aspects of the wizarding world. A second meeting occurs just before the beginning of Harry’s sixth year, in Half-Blood Prince. This meeting is far more unpleasant, and escalates quickly into a near-duel before Malfoy and his mother leave in disgust.
Chapter 1: The Unforgivable Curses

In their first lesson with Moody on Thursday, Moody, after revealing he will only be staying for the year, decides to show the fourth-year Gryffindors the Unforgivable Curses. Despite some fear amongst the students , Moody shows the entire class the three curses using spiders as his test subjects: the Imperius Curse, a mind-control spell, the Cruciatus Curse, a pain-inflicting spell, and the Killing Curse, a spell that causes instant death to any living thing it hits. He also reveals the the use of these spells gain the user a one-way ticket to Azkaban.
Sirius says there are rumours about Harry’s scar hurting and he is returning to Britain. Harry feels worried about Sirius coming back and possibly getting caught by the Ministry, all because he hastily sent the letter. He goes to bed unsettled.

The Events Of Merlin’s Life Make No Sense
Merlin is a significant figure in the history of the Harry Potter universe, as he served King Arthur and became an important figure to both Muggles and wizards alike, to the point where the most prestigious award given to wizards is named after him.
The problem with the history of Merlin is that it doesn’t make sense. Merlin was said to have served King Arthur at some point during the late 5th to early 6th century, and he was also said to have studied at Hogwarts, which wasn’t established until 993.
