If youre looking for the ultimate Christmas LEGO for A Harry Potter fan, you just found it. This Harry Potter LEGO advent calendar would make an amazing treat for any fan of the franchise. The set recreates Harrys journey to Hogwarts in book/movie 1. Theres Chocolate Frogs and Hogwarts letters, platform 9 ¾, a sign that reads The Leaky Cauldron, Hagrids birthday cake for Harry, and many more. Collectors can add those little items to other Harry Potter LEGO sets and improve their experience any time.
Hogwarts Express W Hogsmeade Station
Large set: Basically an updated version of Hogwarts Express, which has been around since 2018. I dont expect the train to be too different, but maybe the would opt for a motorised version this time. And it could be made with Hogsmeade station rather than Kings Cross, to tie in with last years Hogsmeade set. Minifigures could include Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Train driver, Professor Lupin and a dementor.
Day 22 Gringotts Wizarding Bank And Escaped Dragon

Day 22 reveals one of the most incredible micro builds of the 2022 LEGO Harry Potter Advent calendar: The Gringotts Wizarding Bank and escaped dragon set.
The facade of the Gringotts Wizarding Bank is made entirely from white bricks and looks pretty grand, considering it stands at only around an inch tall.
But the whole thing takes on another sense of scale when combined with the escaped dragon that sits on its roof.
This takes the micro build from something static to something exciting!
The dragon is made out of various shades of gray, and the bladed wings can tilt up and down. The head can also tilt side to side too, adding a little more dynamic-ness to the whole set.
The only thing that could have made this set better is if the dragons wings could hinge out sideways so you could put it in flying mode. That way, you could separate it from the building and fly him!
But overall, this set looks fantastic. We were blown away by the detail and how much of a sense of scale it had.
The Gringotts Wizarding Bank and escaped dragon set is definitely up there as one of the highlights of the calendar!

Day 10 The Goblet Of Fire
Movie: The Goblet of Fire Type of build: Micro buildTotal pieces: 9Spare pieces: 0
Up next, behind day 10s door, is the Goblet of Fire. Constructed out of several brown rounded LEGO pieces, it sits atop a sandy beige floor.
The flame is a very light blue translucent piece, and it clips neatly into the center of the goblet, protruding up and nearly doubling the micro builds height.
We also get a small clear piece with a piece of paper printed onto it. On that paper is written Harry Potters name, from when it is ejected from the Goblet of Fire.
There isnt room for this piece to actually sit in the goblet as you might want it to, but its still a nice little touch. It is the perfect size for a Minifigure to hold it, though!
Overall, the Goblet of Fire is a simple yet pleasing-looking micro build.
History Of My Speculation
Since the revival of the Harry Potter theme in 2018 , weve been getting a lot of Harry Potter sets.
In early 2019, I speculated that they brought it back for a three-year schedule, which they seem to use for many themes. Themes like Chima, Nexo Knights, Exo Force, Dimensions, Friends Elves, etc. were all planned for three year though some got canned before the final year.
It seemed to follow the schedule pretty well 2018 focusing on the first two books/movies and 2019 on the next two books/movies. I expected 2020 would round it up covering the last three books/four movies they are less child friendly and I didnt expect many sets for each of those movies. We ended up with sets covering mainly books 5 and 6 but not a single one representing The Deathly Hallows, while the 4 Privet Drive set took us back to the early movies.
With the 2021 Anniversary sets LEGO started from a blank, which does explain the new style where Hogwarts is now highly modular which many refer to as a dollhouse style. It seems like they had planned to finish the series after 2020, but the theme must have sold well and it was indeed listed as one of top five best-selling themes in the latest LEGO Annual Report.
But my speculations havent just been about the three-year cycle or when the theme might end. The last few years, Ive tried to guess what sets that might be coming.

The LEGOHarry Potter design team has responded to calls for a Gringotts extension to last years 75978 Diagon Alley.
While the enormous 5,544-piece set includes seven proprietors from the magical shopping street, theres one iconic location thats even more noticeable by its absence: Gringotts, the gleaming white bank that took centre stage in 2011s 10217 Diagon Alley.
Given the modular building-style connection points between the sets four separate façades, though each of which is situated on a 16×32 baseplate most of us reasonably assumed that the wizarding bank would follow in 2021 as a standalone expansion.
Well, 2021 is here, and Gringotts isnt: instead, the LEGOHarry Potter theme has diverged from the 2018-2020 line-up with a range of sets to celebrate its 20th anniversary, including a brand new style of modular Hogwarts builds. And while those are pretty decent in their own right, were still left asking: wheres Gringotts?
During this years LEGO Fan Media event, Bricks By Mind put the question to the LEGOHarry Potter designers and received a less-than-ideal reply.

The next minifigure we get is behind day 15s door, and it is the inimitable Nymphadora Tonks.
As with all other Minifigures with double-sided head printing, her bright pink hair covers up the face that isnt in use.
Her torso piece has a lot of printed details on both sides, and we love how a lot of the sections are printed in shiny, reflective silver, really highlighting the many intricacies of her outfit.
Her legs are black and plain, so theres nothing much to see there.
As she is a witch, she does come with a wand. This dark brown wand features no paint applications and clips nicely into her hand.
Overall, Nymphadora Tonks is one of the most colorful and unique Minifigures that we get in this set, and we adore the work that went into capturing every little detail of her outfit.

Hogwarts Moment: Potions Class

There are multiple “Hogwarts Moment” LEGO sets, composed of classroom scenes. There’s buildable room sets for Charms, Transfiguration class, and Defense against the Dark Arts. But the two best sets are nearly the opposite of each other. The first is the gloomy Potions Class, which comes with potion-making equipment and a minifigure of Professor Snape. There’s also a minifigure of Seamus Finnigan, who has a reversible face with black smoke all over him.

Day 1 Ollivanders Wand Shop
Movie: The Philosophers Stone Type of build: Micro buildTotal pieces: 35Spare pieces: 4
Behind door 1 is Ollivanders Wand Shop, the establishment located on Diagon Alley where all the young wizards and witches get the tools of their trade.
This micro build is made primarily from black and gray bricks, with rounded clear bricks pretty faithfully replicating the 4 bay windows on the shopfront.
There is also a black sign above the door, as well as a drain pipe that runs down the left-hand side of the building.
It took us a little while to figure out what this micro build actually was, but when we realized, we were actually quite impressed at the level of detail especially for such a tiny build!
Overall, its a nice and intricate build to start the calendar off.
Would we have preferred a Minifigure instead of Ollivanders Wand Shop behind the door for day 1? Yes! But we cant complain too much about what we got.
